Handling the right click

Hi,
My application needs a right click management other than the default flash plugin right click.
After some research, it seems that it is possible to do it using Javascript in Flex 2 and 3.
As I'm using Flex 4.5, I tried to implement the same mechanism but I can't get it work.
Does anyone has done it in Flex 4.5 maybe natively ?

Not sure if this will help, but here's how to make a right click context menu with Flex 4.  it will still have the stupid flash player options, but at least you can add your own menu options to it as well.  Sorry if it's not what you'd like, but i didn't know if it would help!

            private function initCM():void {
                 var cmi:ContextMenuItem = new ContextMenuItem("Menu Option 1", true);
                 cmi.addEventListener(ContextMenuEvent.MENU_ITEM_SELECT, selectMenu1);
                 var cmi2:ContextMenuItem = new ContextMenuItem("Menu Option 2", true);
                 cmi2.addEventListener(ContextMenuEvent.MENU_ITEM_SELECT, selectMenu2);
                 cm = new ContextMenu();
                 cm.hideBuiltInItems();
                 cm.customItems = [cmi,cmi2];
                 cm.addEventListener(ContextMenuEvent.MENU_SELECT, contextMenu_menuSelect);
             private function contextMenu_menuSelect(evt:ContextMenuEvent):void {
                 //do something whenever the context menu pops up regardless of selecting a menu item.
             private function selectMenu1(evt:ContextMenuEvent):void {
                 //menu option 1 has been selected
               Alert.show('Menu Option 1 Selected');
            private function selectMenu2(evt:ContextMenuEvent):void {
                //menu option 2 has been selected
               Alert.show('Menu Option 2 Selected');

  • Is there a way to open the right click menu on the left side of your pointer?

    Whenever I try to right-click an object that's located on the right side of the screen, the pointer always automatically click whatever entry in the right-click menu which just happens to be under the pointer the moment the menu is opened. I noticed that the reason this happens is because the right click menu always forces itself to open on the right side of the pointer, and when there isn't enough space, the right-click menu will open underneath the pointer. Since this is horribly inconvenient, is there a way to open the right-click menu on the left side of your pointer?

    Are you saying you have an icon on the far right side and when you rt click on it, your pointer ends up opening wherever it lands? That is a two step process, or normally should be at least a two step process. Do you have a Mouse in your Control Panel? You should check, because there may be some properties with which you can play. For instance, I can switch primary and secondary functions on my mouse buttons by checking a box.
    When I rt click on right side, the menu opens on the left.
    When I rt click on left side, the menu opens on the right.
    In order for me to take an action, I then have to move to an area in that menu and click.
    I hope I understood your question correctly.

  • Inside the browser, right click on the mouse seems to be disabled. How can I enable the right click button? It works fine on toolbars and tab bar but not inside tabs or windows. I would like to be able to copy and paste and such. Thank you

    Right mouse button does not open any menu when clicked inside of tabs or windows. Works properly on the toolbars, in the address line, search bar...etc. but has no action on the page I'm browsing. I purchased a mouse recently and like the old one, the right button works in all other areas of my operating system. I would like to know if there is a setting in firefox that I can change to correct this.

    There are also websites that can disable the right-click context menu.

  • Installed snow leopard and the right click on my mouse no longer works. Any ideas?

    I just replaced my hard drive and installed a clean copy snow leopard with all updates. The right mouse button (normal wired mouse that came with imac) with the menu drop down is no longer working. changed secondary button in mouse settings and got the right click menu but now when I right click the file or group of files are no longer highlighted. this *****. any ideas?? Between the hassle of replacing a hard drive, mouse problems, firefox, opera, office mac and elgato tv problems and issues im fed up.

    Apple menu -> System preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse should give you controls over the mouse. If not, either Steer Mouse or USB Overdrive might give you better control.

  • Is there any way to prevent the right click context menu from combining Stop/Reload?

    Is there any way (about:config tweak, or something) to prevent the right click context menu from combining Stop/Reload?
    Screenshot of what I'm talking about: http://picsend.net/images/873089StupidReloadSto.png

    I did try the add-on ''Menu Editor'' https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ but even when I separate the navigation reload and stop icons and explicitly have both stop and reload set to be visible on the right click context menu I only get the one option showing.
    Whilst there may be some way of changing this I do not know how to and I do not really see any use case for making such a change. Only one option of the choice: stop or reload, is available at any instance in time, but that is the option you are able to use, the other option is not active and so is not displayed.

  • How to remove the option "Set as default background..." from the right-click menu on a picture, for all users.

    Hi! I would like to know if there is any possibility to remove the option "Set as default background..." from the right-click menu on a picture, for all users. I know that's possible to edit userContent.css or userChrome.css, but this concerns only a profile at a time and being in a domain, I would like to set this for all people using Firefox.
    Can it be possible to edit a mozilla.cfg file to get the same result?
    Thank you in advance for help and tips.

    AFAIK then there is no way to do that system wide. You can only do that via userChrome.css or an extension like the Menu Editor per profile .You can install extensions globally, but the user will have to enable them anyway. That is not required for userChrome.css code.

  • Is it possible to add a button to the right-click context menu for a user in Outlook 2010 using VBA?

    I've tried many things and read up quite a bit but I cannot figure this out.
    I cannot create an add-in so I have to use VBA.
    I want to add a a button to the right-click context menu when I right-click on a user. Is this possible?

    Hello,
    Yes, it is possible to customize the context menu in Outlook. See
    Customizing Context Menus in Office 2010 for more information.
    But VBA doesn't allow to customize the Fluent UI in Outlook, you need to develop an add-in instead.

  • HT201403 It would be very helpful for Apple to re-instate the view as icon option for a pdf file in an email on the right click menu? As far as I can see no easy way for a basic user to get this back?

    Would be great for Apple to reinstate the pdf as icon in mail - but using the right click menu. It seems to have gone - and as a basic user there seems to be no simple solution - I used the rich/plain text swap but it didn't work...
    Apple - we need you to solve!

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
    It's highly doubtful that Apple will change this in Mac OS X 10.7 since that OS version has now been discontinued for quite some time. Whether they will change that in OS X 10.9 or a future version I can't say.
    If this is a serious issue for you, you can look into Attachement Tamer:
    http://lokiware.info/Attachment-Tamer
    It's not free, but it addresses much more than the issue of PDFs appearing as images, not icons, so it might be worth the price.

  • Reader 9 - "Print" and "Open with Adobe Reader..." options are missing from the right-click menus.

    Since upgrading from Reader 8 to Reader 9, Windows XP users are no longer able to right-click 1 or more PDF files from Windows Explorer and choose either "Print" or "Open with Adobe Reader...". Those options are no longer listed in the right-click menu. We have experienced this on several computers.  I downgraded a PC to Reader 8, and these options re-appeared, then disappeared again when I upgraded back to Reader 9.

    Could you tell me which version of Reader 9 you are installing?
    Please give the exact version it is showing you from Help | About Adobe Reader.

  • Regarding pop up menu on the right click of a row of a table in a frame

    hi to all,
    i am a naive in applet and swing.
    i have some proplem regarding table in a frame.
    actually i want to open a pop up menu on the right click of a row of a table in the frame.please send the code regarding this.

    Hi,
    You're probably better off directing this to the swing forum but a starter for ten is the use of the MouseListener interface and the boolean isRightMouseButton method.

  • I was on facebook and deleted an icon by using the right-click menu but then all my pictures and all profile pictures, could no longer be seen. I was able to view them in Explorer so this is something I did in Firefox. How can I unblock a site?'

    '''I was on facebook and deleted an icon by using the right-click menu but then all my pictures and all profile pictures, could no longer be seen. I was able to view them in Explorer so this is something I did in Firefox. How can I unblock a site?'''

    If you select that right-click context menu entry then you block all images from that domain and not one specific image, so do not use that.
    * Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions (e.g. sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net)
    You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • The Right click context menu, and menu butons are all yellow?

    The right click context menu, and the Drop down menus for the tool bar, all have Yellow Text.
    Everything else is working normally, and the Yellow text is un related to windows itself, as Windows still has the standard coloring for the menus and Right click context. im stumped.

    its cosmetic issue mostly, not harmful.

    Hmmm, that shouldn't happen. It's difficult to change the text colors in the interface without installing a theme or an add-on that lets you tweak the menus.
    Can you try switching between the default theme and your current theme?
    Do any of those extensions let you change display settings?

    Just once or twice

    In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.
