Harvest flies in the screen

I doubt anyone can help, maybe more of an amusement than anything. A while back I got a small line, not even completely horizontal or vertical, of black pixels. I thought they were dead. A couple of days later, another cluster in a completely different part of the screen appeared. Last night I discovered a third set of what I thought were dead pixels. This morning I found the third set of dead pixels WALKING up the screen. Dead pixels don't walk. On closer inspection, it was a harvest fly that had got behind the screen somehow. The other two clusters look exactly the same as the third, just dead, so I assume that's what they are.
Has anyone, got ANY idea how one might remove the little b****?

The later Intel-based iMac models (or some of them) allowed the user
or a technician, to remove a hard cover from the display and clean
the surface of the panel beneath it. Not sure if the iMac G5 has any
access from the front of the computer; so some research may be
necessary to find out - IF G5 iMac's screen has a removable cover.
{The 2007 Intel iMac is said to be different, and the facia removes.}
Since it may be, the display does not come apart the same in the
older iMac G5 as some of the later Intel-based iMacs of same look,
the display may be much harder to clean; since they appear to be
semi-sealed, at least from the face of it.
Bugs can be clever; so if you can hire some 'rescue bugs' to go
into the iMac G5 and lead out the living bugs, and carry out any
others who can't make the trip alone due to injury or death; this
may be the only way to inexpensively clean that older iMac screen.
If the iMac G5's display happens to have a hard glass cover held
into place with magnets such as those in the later Intel iMac, it
may be possible to find instructions online to see about opening it.
But if the computer does not, this can be a mistake opening it up.
In any event, someone with tech experience may be able to help
once they know what model exactly you are dealing with there.
The bug search and rescue may be your only hope!
In any event...
Good luck & happy computing!

    This problem has also been plaguing me today. Here are my specifics and how I solved it (Expanding on what Quentin Holmes mentioned)
    CONFIRMED WORK AROUND! The .m4v file gets created while encoding, but Adobe Media Encoder does not re-pack it back into the .mp4 unless you select the "Export Audio" in Adobe Premier export prior to queuing. If you don't want audio, mute the individual tracks and still export audio.
    My details:
    Just bought a GH4, shooting 4k 25fps MOV, trying to simply trim a few clips and export them as H.264 .mp4 with no audio. (By the way it would be nice if we could export 4k .MOV files from the camera back into .MOV once finished editing, but in premier that frame resolution is not supported)
    Specs: Mac Mini, Quad Core i7, 16GB Ram, OSX 10.9.4, Adobe Premier Pro CS6 6.0.5, Adobe Media Encoder 6.0.2.81
    Hope that helps anyone with the same prob

  • When I click on a tab in the toolbar the tab flies off the screen to the right. Suddenly after using firefox for years I cannot load any pages

    I'm using Windows XP. I've used Firefox for years but in recent weeks I've had the following problem. When I endeavour to open an internet site the tab appears in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen instead of loading the page. When I click on the tab it appears to fly across the right of screen and disappears from view. Fortunately we've left an internet page OPEN so that we can redirect our search via that. Today we had a power cut and now I cannot get Firefox to load anything. At the moment I'm using Explorer to write this. We've made no changes to our system and we're continuing to use the same virus checker we're had for years. (Kaspersky)
    One last point. When I try to load any site in Links the tab changes to the correct name but then flies off as I've previously mentioned. When I right click on the tab and choose Max or Min I have no reaction. I've tried rebooting the computer and turning it off but this does not fix the problem. I've also uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled the latest version all to no avail. Please, can someone help? Micam

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Text + Image Flying onto the screen

    Very new to Adobe Premiere Elements 10 so this is probably a stupid question...
    How do I make pictures and text fly across the screen? I've done rolling credits for the end but the start I just want the logo and some text moving across the screen.
    Its so easy in imovie but I can't seem to do it in Premiere Elements. I am using it on a pc by the way.
    Thanks so much for any help

    Kristy,
    Welcome to the forum.
    Those Effects are easily done by animating the Clips/Titles with Keyframes. Usually, one will at least start by working with the Fixed Effect>Motion>Position, and Keyframing it over time.
    While the actual work is easy, one does need to get a handle on the concept of Keyframing Effects. Steve Grisetti, our tireless MOD, has a multi-part Learning Series on Basic Keyframing, available on Muvipix.com. I do nto recall if that particular series is free to all, or is only for subscribers. That will give you a big head-start with the concepts.
    There is a similar thread, on exactly what you want to do, and was posted fairly recently. I will look for it, as both Steve and I go into a bit more detail. In the meantime, check out Muvipix.com, and also read the entries on "Keyframing" in the Help File.
    Good luck, and will report back with a link to that thread soon.

  • Mail opens off the screen & I can't reposition it...HELP!

    Has anyone had this issue and maybe can help? When I open Mail it flies off the screen to the right. It is open and all the controls on top are there, but I can't see the main screen pane. So I am not able to open Preferences or anything else than might help. If I click on Minimize in the Window dropdown I can see it fly down to the dock and likewise if I then hit Zoom it flies off to the right where I can't see it again. Any thoughts?

    Ok, it could be two other things.
    The monitor resolution could have changed. Go to System Preferences > Displays > Display tab > scroll this list of resolutions down and choose the bottom most resolution.
    If that doesn't help you could have another monitor attached to extend the desktop. An additional tab (arrangement) will be present in System Preferences > Displays if that's the case.
    Physically disconnect anything plugged into the mini displayport. The desktop should reset to one non-extended desktop.

  • As I scroll through a file, it drops to the bottom or flies off the side of my screen. It reopens when i click the file, but why is is flying off of my screen?

    I am having a new issue with my Macbook Pro.
    As I scroll through to review a file the file flies off to the side or drops off the bottom of the screen.
    I can reopen the file okay but scroll 3 or 4 times and it whooshes off the screen again.
    This has never happened before this morning.
    I wonder if it is not a symptom of a bigger problem.
    I have been downloading Shutterstock files for the last few days & have 100 images in the file that is acting up.
    Could it be that the file is stuffed too full?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shannon

    I'm going to assume you don't have a fancy multiple monitor desktop...
    This page contains a script that positions the browser window at the upper left. If Firefox is your default browser, then copy the following:
    http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/jstest.html
    and paste it somewhere that you can click it, such as a Word document or an email. If you have enabled the Run command on the Start Menu (more info: [http://www.nirmaltv.com/2009/01/15/enable-run-command-in-start-menu-in-windows-7/ How to Enable Run Command in Start Menu in Windows 7]) then you can simply paste it into the Run box and click OK to launch it in the browser.
    If the script method doesn't work, you can use the slow method. With the Firefox window active, press Alt+Spacebar to open the control menu, then press the right arrow once, then press the left arrow repeatedly until the window comes into view. When you can see enough of it to be able to click and drag its title bar, press Enter to complete the move operation.
    Any luck?

  • How do I keep my cursor from flying to a random corner of the screen when I lift the mouse?

    My cursor contantly jumps to a random corner of the screen when I do a large movement or lift the mouse. Can I fix this?

    You can first do a SMC and PRAM reset. You can also restart in Safe Mode to reset some caches. However first I would look at the preferences for the mouse in System Preferences.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
    Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
    Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • I am having the hardest time with the screen protectors! HELP ME|!

    So I bought the Anti-Glare screen protector from the Apple Store fir my iPhone. The first time I out it on, it looked good, but when I really looked at it, it was crooked around the Home button which looked really stupid, so I took it off with some tape and repositioned the protector, but yet again, can not get it straight, but worse of all, because my house is filled with flying dust, the back of the protector is filled with dust and lint and smudges, so now I cannot use the first one, so i open the other and what happens? THE SAME THING!!! So I have 2 questions.
    1. What am I doing wrong, what is the best way to put these on? Should I take the protector off just a bit and place it on the phone and then let it fall into place? Or take it off completely and then place it and hope I get it straight the first time?
    2. I am going to buy some new protectors (Same brand and everything), but I am wondering, would the Apple store give me an exchange despite the fact I did this to the protectors? Has anyone done that before?
    Thanks!

    It took me THREE OF THE THINGS before I get one of them on -- luckily, once on, it has never had to come off, and that has been since July.
    I ended up putting a small piece of scotch tape at the bottom right corner, which helps you lift it up and reposition without having to lift it too far that desk lint and things get on it again.
    I actually got so fed up after the first two, when I went back to get the second package of them (since there are only two of them per pack) that the "Genius" assisting me said he was a pro and would put it on for me. After the "Genius" had himself used up two of the protectors and it still looked awful, he just gave me another pack and wished me well.
    The third one was the charm though, and it has worked perfectly ever since.

                             i = st.nextToken(); //the next token (assumed) is the  '=' sign
                             i = st.nextToken(); //then after it is the href value.
                             getURL(st.sval); //retrieve address
              in.close();
         static void getURL(String s) {
              //Check string if it has http:// and truncate if it does
              if (s.indexOf("http://") >  -1) {
                   s = s.substring(s.indexOf("http://") + 7, s.length());
              //check if not mailto: do not print otherwise
              if (s.indexOf("mailto:") != -1) return;
              //printout anything after http:// and the next '/'
              //if no '/' then print all
                   if (s.indexOf('/') > -1) {
                        System.out.println(s.substring(0, s.indexOf('/')));
                   } else System.out.println(s);
    }Hope this helps. I used static methods instead of encapsulating everyting into a class.

  • I just flew on a airplane and when I turned my iPad on the screen went red

    I was wondering why my iPad screen would turn red. I just flew home and turned it on. I did lay it in the screening tray would that affect it?

    My iPad has gone through numerous airport screen devices with no problems. I also use the Go Go in flight Wi-Fi service when flying. My iPad has shown no ill effects.
    I suspect something may have happened to your iPad. Perhaps it was dropped while in the tray or a hardware malfunction happened at the same time. If you can duplicate the problem, or if it recurring, make an appointment at an Apple store for a consultation. Back up your iPad before going to the store.

  • I'm trying to make a logo animate onto the screen - is there a technique for that?

    I'm editing a TV spot for a client and want to animate their logo, by making it "draw" itself onto the screen. Any recommendations for how to do that?

    depends on how the logo looks like and what kind of 'appearance' you want ...
    drop-dead-simple:
    use any paint.app which supports psd-layers (recommending Pixelmator …), 'split' the diff. elements into separate layers (needs perhaps some retouch) and fade in/move in each layer. (made that for some other request awhile ago : http://youtu.be/uEDjHtADYj8 )
    not-that-complicated:
    in Motion, matte tool, paint some lines, which cover the logo, use the write-on behavior... (thousands of tuts at YT ... )
    all-bells-and-whistles:
    use tools as Blender, Cinema4D or mObjects (=the 3D-plugin for Motion) to re-enact the logo in 3D, flying, tumbling, lens flares, chrome shine, fire balls, Hollywood!

  • I'd like to ask about the screen of my winpad 110w

    Is it normal if my screen glints just like million of insects flying in the background? Especially when my background color turns into black... If you look from normal sight, you will not notice it, but if you look closely you'll see millions of spots are flying... I'm just curious about it... if it's unussual I'd take it to the store to claim for my warranty. Please forgive me for my English....

    is it like static noise that we used to see on older TVs? Also, does it happens when your windpad is loading windows (i.e. when the windows loading animation is playing)?
    I never noticed anything like that ever on windpad screen except that there are some light bleed issues which are prominent on black backgrounds.

  • After clean install, all configurations goes and all text flies to the left.

    I installed an add-on extension to control popups and malware monitoring. Everything seemed to work, for about a week, and then Firefox began acting up. After working for a few minutes, Firefox looses all configurations, all images disappear, and all the text that is left flies to the left of the screen and stays there. The screen becomes grey and when I move the cursor over the grey area, it turns into a hand from the usual arrow pointer. If I can go to a Bookmarked page it might work (some seem too) or it might just mimic the exact same thing as Firefox. I've done everything I can think of to include, many reinstalls, reboots between reinstalls, clean installs, to searching for everything connected to Firefox has been deleted and then Firefox reinstalled with nothing but the most basic clean install possible. What's left.

    You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
    Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
    *Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
    Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
