Has anyone experience a problem with not being able to add a drumbeat loop to a prerecorded project? When I open the loop browser, there are only a few options available. The rest are greyed out. I can only choose individual drum sounds, not full beats
I have created a project and recorded 2 tracks, one with a guitar and the other vocals. I would like to add a drum loop, but when I pull up the loop browser, all of the normal selections aren't available. Some are greyed out, including "Beats". "All Drums" is available, but when I click on it it pulls up some cymbal sounds only. I've opened some old recordings in GB to see if this is a consistent issue, but it's not. Only this one project won't allow me to use drum loops. Which leads me to believe there is something I have selected or not selected within the project that's not allowing me to see all the loops. Any help would be much appreciated.

Has anyone else encountered problems with Adobe CMM clobbering Photoshop add-in filters?
I recently tried to install Adobe CMM, as a pop-up window suggested after I installed Photoshop CS5 on a new computer, running Win7x64 Ultimate. Before trying to install CMM, my Akvis Sketch Plug-In for Photoshop worked fine. Afterwards, Akvis Sketch runs under the filters menu, but will not accept mouse clicks from my Wacom tablet. Prior to Adobe CMM, all was fine. Somehow, the frustrating attempt to use Adobe CMM broke links to Akvis Sketch.
By the way, Adobe CMM setup tried to run and vanished without a trace - no indication of success or failure. CMM doesn't show on my control panel as installed software, so I can't de-install it.
I did un-install Akvis Sketch and re-install it. No luck as a filter, nor as a stand-alone program.
Additional point of interest - a second identical software/hardware workstation continues to run Akvis Sketch just fine because we didn't try installing Adobe CMM on that machine. It certainly looks like CMM is the culprit here.
Since Akvis Sketch is broken as a stand-alone, I doubt that de-activating, uninstalling and then re-installing, re-activating Photoshop CS5 will help, but it will take a lot of time to recreate actions and re-install other add-ins, plus preferences settings.

Fact #1 - another identical system with ms mouse worked fine so I swapped out the Wacom tablet and bingo, the Akvis plug-in works again.
Fact #2 - So does Amazon's Kindle for PC app, which also quit working after running the Adobe CMM setup I'd downloaded.
Suggestion - since there's a legacy for CS5 users getting the "you should download CMM" pop-up, yet no need to do this, maybe Adobe should remove the CMM download page from its website - or flag this download as unneccessary for photoshop users. All Best, Charles Pierce.

I have tried importing the entire certificate chain as well as importing each individual cert in the chain. My certificate works perfectly with the cisco vpn on my pc.
This is my first experience owning an apple product, and I am very disappointed with the customer support that I have received. I tried calling the help line and no one would even attempt to answer my question. I was then told that the Mac "geniuses" wouldn't know either and that I may be able to find an answer on the message boards. What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Has anyone had any problems with their charger blowing out? mine blew, there's now a charred pin on the charger and in the socket of the macbook. The plastic around the charge socket is also cracked & distorted from the blow-out. It wasn't a power surge as no other electrical items were affected. It wasn't liquid or dust, as I'm the only person who uses it & I'm very careful. I'm concerned that the consequences could have been terrible. I wasn't present when it happened though, I can just see the evidence after the event.
I have a mid 2010 13" Macbook running the latest software & use the original magsafe charger that came with it.
Will I have to fork out for a costly repair or is there a safety issue that Apple will sort out for me?

Correct. Applications designed to run on the old PPC Macs (which Apple stopped making in 2005) cannot run on Mountain Lion.

It's more likely the OP's router. I have a wifi only iPad 2, yet location services work just fine on my iPad. If I open maps, my location is found quite nicely. I have seen that some routers do not provide location services and I suspect the OP has such a router.

I am having problems accessing my airport utilities, the area which allows me to alter settings is all greyed out. Can anyone help?
Using the same Ethernet cable that is used to connect the modem to the AirPort Extreme, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the AirPort Extreme and connect it directly to your Mac as a test for 4-6 hours.
Be sure to power off the modem for 5-10 minutes when you do this, so that it will associate with the new device that it "sees".
Does the connection drop when you connect this way? If yes, then replace the Ethernet cable and run the test again for 4-6 hours.
If the connection still drops, you likely have a defective modem or a line problem on the cable service....despite what the cable company might say.
If the connection remains solid when you run the "test", then you know that the modem and Ethernet cable are working correctly.
If you have performed a factory default reset on the AirPort Extreme a few times, and connection still drops, then you should take the AirPort to an Apple Store....if you have one near you..... to let them take a look, or contact Apple Support directly.

Yes. Very sticky. especially the first time you go to click it after not using it for a bit. Mine feels similar to if there were crumbs underneath, or parts crunching together.

from my experience handwritten checks rarely work, myself and friends have always recieved an error stating the picture was to blurry no matter how many times we took a picture. From what i have read with others who have issues with depositing handwritten checks, some checks are deemed to blurry based on the handwriting, therefore the app wont accept the check, while other handwritten check will be accepted just fine, i hope this resolves your issue's and concerns -

You are probably correct. I tried all different variations to test it. As long as I quit each document separately, i.e., red dot it, I seem to bring up only one document after that whether I click on the document itself or open it within pages. The same is true with numbers.
Two more questions:
1) can you turn off the "resume" feature? If so, how? I could not find a way to do it.
2) why the "save a version" feature in pages? What happened to the old "save" and "save as" features?
