Has anyone found the mail app bug regarding "return" during typing?

OS X 10.1.1
During the composition of an email, I find the cursor dropping down to the next line without hitting the "return" key. It will drop down after an apostrophe and sometimes in the middle of a word. It will also drop down a line for every .... (4 periods) in a row. This is maddening. It is like it is formatting for the vertical iPhone screen randomly. This does not happen anywhere else but in the new Yosemite mail program. It was not a problem in Mavericks or Snow Leopard.
Has anyone had this issue?

Has Anyone Found the New Version of the iPod Radio Remote?

Hi,
Per iLounge, Apple released an updated ipod radio remote that has the most current version of Apple's ipod headphones as opposed to the shortened ones. I've checked on-line, Best Buy, Circuit City Compu World, Micro Center with no luck. I aslo tried the bricks-and-mortar Apple store...they looked at me like I had ten heads. Apparently they have the same sku as the old set.
I posted a question to Apple Support, but no response yet. Has anyone found the new version anywhere?

Thanks. I've submitted requests to Apple to find out if or when they will be shipping the new remote, but they have not responded within their promoted 24-hour timeframe. I'll try to order from Apple directly and hope I get the new headphones too!

I can still access the internet. I can still log into my iCloud. I reset my network settings and restored my iPad twice already. I tried all the stuff I could find on YouTube to include changing my DNS setting to 8.8.8.8 I don’t know why I can’t log on. I bought the iPad in Germany and it worked. When I came back to Turkey where I live it worked. I took a trip to the states in December and it worked. Now that I’m back in Turkey, I can’t even log on. For both the facetime and imessage I get a message that says “ Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again. I tried to all the help line twice and they couldn’t even help me. I just bought this in November and don’t know why it’s not working……….Help if you can. Thanks for the response.

Has anyone found the solution to email disappearing with Apple Mail?

I have seen quite a number of postings about email disappearing with Apple's Mail client, regardless of what account they are using (yahoo, gmail, aol, etc.). What I have noticed is that email vanishes right in front of my eyes from the folders I have created to keep my email in order. Sometimes I move a message or several and I see them in the folder for a day or two, and then a few days later they are simply gone. This happens from the sent folder too. It is random. No, they are not in the trash, or junk, or anywhere else. Doing a full search turns nothing. They are really, really gone.
Sometimes, I go to a folder and I see how in a second one or several messages disappear from the list and that is it. Never to be found again. Not even if I visit the web-based account I can retrieve them. They are gone.
The worst part is when they disappear from my sent folder immediately after they leave the outbox, so I am not sure if it sent or not, and I have to retype the whole thing again just to make sure.
This is extremely annoying, and I have seen I am not the only one to which this happens. Has anyone found a fix for this bug? Should I simply keep all my email in my inbox? Or should I just give up on Apple Mail and use Thunderbird?
I have an old powerbook G4 with 10.4 and Mail 2. Not like it makes much difference, I've seen people complaining about the same issue in later versions of OS and Mail.

Has anyone used the YouView app?

I don't have an iphone, but the YouView app looks really clever, similar to the Sky App.

I'm not endorsing anything - just asking if anyone has used it and moreso - how does it work? My YouView isn't an "account", I don't login to it, so how do I record from my phone, and it record it on my box at home?

I use it with my business and love it. Must leave the "remote" computer on at all times if you want to access. Great when traveling. And yes, you can work in any program as if you were sitting at your desk regardless of what it it is, access files, programs, etc... There is some lag at times but you can do what you need. At least that is my experience.

Has anyone found the answer to the "can't connect to wireless" problem?

Since 10.5 I have not been able to connect to either our home wireless network or the city free wireless network. Our other systems running 10.4 connect perfectly. We also have 2 PCs which work fine. I installed 10.4 in a seperate drive in my system and it works fine. I tried to go back to 10.4 on my main HD but that turned into a bucket of worms. When you try to go back archive and install does not carry back your settings, prefs, mail, etc. I have Googled the problem and there are many people with the same problem. A few people said they had a fix but none worked for me. Anyone have anything new??

POWERBOOK FREEZES...HAS ANYONE FOUND THE SOLUTION?

Hi, I just bought a Powerbook a week ago and there have been some randomly system freezes. Since I bought it there have been about 5 freezes.
My powerbook its a 15in G4 1.67ghz with 1.5gb ram.
I have noticed that when this happens I have the airpot card on, and microsoft messenger running.I have used my FCP Studio and no problems, not even with motion working. I dont belive that all this problem is because of ram issues or graphical intense apps.
I would like to know if someone has already fixed this problem, it would be good to know if there is a way using thrid party software like disk warrior or techtool pro, or if someone has already tried other solution.
I have tought of some things that might explain this....
I turned off the system option to spin down hd when possible, and Im thinking in formating my hard drive but in other way, not journaled...or perhaps upgrade the hard drive for a 7200 rpm.drive....
If anyone could help on this, I will appreciate.

Hi John, you are right, it wasnt msn, I tried to run without msn or aiport this weekend. I went to a countryside area, outside the city where I had to finish a project for a client that was about to present my video.In the room we were staying I mounted all my editing suite with my powerbook, no msn, no aiport, just my FCP Studio running. I worked for about two days and nights in the project, runing motion, fcp, dvd studio pro...and got another 2 crashes, one running motion and other just organizing my files in my HD.
The powerbook really worked fine, I do all my projects in my G5 desktop , so I got this PB as an extension for projects in field, and works very nice, but...the only problem are those ocasionaly crashes that make you nervous, specialy when 5 min are the difference between your client been happy or kicking your butt and not paying you.
I have upgraded to 10.4.6 and today I got an other crash...
whats next?...can anyone have an explanation to this?...I have been a loyal MAC user since my first Macintosh Classic came to home when I was just a kid and never had a problem at all...perhaps there is a BillGates course to apple...I may take the PB to a Shamman and tell him to make a Cleaning Spell.
Any other suggestions?

Has anyone reported the Slideshow clipping bug?

When I last posted this, I was told I must be doing something wrong. So, assuming I didn't quite understand what I was doing, I started over with some fres graphical images. Here's what I discovered:
When in Slideshow mode, Apple TV consistently, regardless of mode (720p, 1080i) will clip 36 pixels off the top AND 36 pixels of the bottom of any image it displays.
When parading by images, when you it is displaying the contents of a photo album, all appear 100% fine. When you select the "slide the images up in a layered display" they are all displayed 100%.
With the Ken Burns effect on OR off, Apple TV seems to reserving 72 pixels for possible photo/image sliding. Seems like a bug that if I turn off the Burns effect, it still reserves those 76 pixels.
I did extensive testing with Photoshop drawings as I could not figure out what was going on. It is extremely difficult to notice with a photo, unless you have a head shot, where you can see the top of a head (or some other image) right near the top of the photo. Tell me it's not clipped in slideshow view.

Thanks for the suggestion. I take it, then, that in order to prove it is overscan I have to make a movie that will have measurable edges, bands of color, each (say) 8 pixels hight? And then create a movie in iMovieHD? And then play it on the AppleTV only to see, what? The clipping of 72 pixels due to overscan? It's possible... a lot of work, but worth it to know where the source of the clipping comes from.
The images I am using are not 6:4 photos, but are (typically much less than) 1280 wide and (exactly) 720 high. I already explained that I was using photoshop to create images that were 720 pixels high, each having a 40 pixel border of black on the top and the bottom. The width is inconsequential, as for these images, clipping the width is not important. I mentioned that all photographs are also clipped but, since most people use the Photo feature on appletv to view snapshots, they don't miss the content.
All of my images are cropped to 16:9; you crop yours using iPhoto, I create them in Photoshop. If I have time this weekend, I will test your overscan theory. If that's the case, I'll let you know, and then see if there are any adjustments for overscan on my set.
FYI, while overscan does indeed exist, almost all examples in the Wikipedia refer to horizontal overscan, resulting in horizontal, not vertical, clipping. You are correct in that it still exists. This has been a real learning experience for me. I had assumed that digital = "exact."

I have tried installing all of the available drivers including MF4010 which other users have reported works- I keep getting Error-50 and cannot print anything. If anyone has used any driver for this printer that is compatible with my macbook pro - that could help me out a lot.

Has anyone found the way to fix Mavericks from turning their MBP into a snail?

I have an early 2011 MBP. 2.0ghz with 4gb of RAM. I have plenty of space on my HDD(140GB) which is not "failing". Just like about 90% of other users, my mac has slowed way way down since "upgrading" to Mavericks. Easily half the speed it was since the upgrade. Oh yeah, I upgraded over a week ago. So it isn't the "give it 72 hours" line of BS.
Any real answers? Will Apple help anyone with this?

Thanks for the info. RAM on the way. Just as a matter of opinion. Why would Apple nearly force this operating system on me by popping it up on my updates list every other day? After I finally gave in,(with great concern that it would do more harm than good, because frankly, my computer was running great already) I might of seen a spinning balloon once a week, maybe for a second or two, and that was with a ton of things working. Including Premiere Pro, Firefox, and maybe another adobe program open. Switch to Mavericks, and I can't even open Firefox without havng to wait for atleast 5 seconds of spinning balloon.
Then when I looked up to see why I was having problems, I saw tons of people with the same exact problem.
And this is months and months of the same exact complaints with absolutely no answers and no changes. Kind of like an automobile company witholding information about defects while its customers die from them.
Let me tell you what I think is actually happening. The guy who loved the company the most, and wanted to provide a quality product, first and foremost, died. I sadly predict we are watching Apple downshift its way into Microsoft Mediocrity.

Has anyone found the screen to be slightly "dipped"/concave in the middle?

I've got a 32GB iPad, and I am very much enjoying it. One thing i've noticed is that the LCD screen underneath the glass digitizer seems to be ever so slightly dipped, or concave in the middle.
It doesn't seem to cause any issues, but I was wondering if this was normal. When you look direct on at the iPad, you don't see it; only at an angle do you notice it.

Yes I have the Ipad 64bit Next generation and quite unhappy the display is concave. Not just the OS but web browsing also.

Has anyone found the iPhone 4 alerts sounds keep turning down. The only way to get them back up is to switch the phone off and then back on.

YES! This is really killing me and you're the only one to bring it up in discussions! I constantly have to turn it off and on to get it back to norm, and this other reply about clean wiping in/resetting it is just too much of a pain in the @#*. I don't have the apple warranty, but do have verizon as a carrier with insurance. I wonder if they'll have a clue as to what to do, or just default to the idiocy that is the norm.
