Has anyone had a problem with a stuck mouse pointer?
The mouse pointer on my System recently started behaving oddly. The pointer works fine while the iMac boots. Once the boot is fully completed, the pointer is effectively stuck at the bottom of the display (before I launch any application). It is kinda like it is on a rubber band. If I move it quickly, it moves across the whole screen and then gets reset to the bottom of the display. If I move it slowly, it moves half an inch or less on screen and gets yanked back. If I boot into Safe Mode, the mouse pointer works normally. If I boot normally, but log into a different account, everything works fine. But for my primary account, the mouse pointer is messed up. I have run Norton and it finds no viruses or malware. I have run MacScan and it finds no malware.
Something must have worked - just got an E-mail from MacAce saying they've seen the problem and are arranging a refund.

Has anyone had a problem with the letters actually disappearing from the keybord, like being gradually rubbed out? My macbook air had this problem one year after purchase. They fixed it for free. Now, a year later, I have the same prob. Apple doesnt want to know.

Is the check something like a payroll check where its digitally printed and all in text?, or is it a handwritten check?
from my experience handwritten checks rarely work, myself and friends have always recieved an error stating the picture was to blurry no matter how many times we took a picture. From what i have read with others who have issues with depositing handwritten checks, some checks are deemed to blurry based on the handwriting, therefore the app wont accept the check, while other handwritten check will be accepted just fine, i hope this resolves your issue's and concerns -

Has anyone had a problem with MacAce? I normally pay them £8.39 per month for iWeb hosting - but last week my bank account got dented by £8.39 (twice) and then a further £58.80 from nowhere- that's over £65 in unauthorised debits from my bank account. No explanation - nothing.
I sent them 2 E-mails - and no response. I phoned them - and got through to a voice machine ... and still no response.
Is there anything going on here?Something must have worked - just got an E-mail from MacAce saying they've seen the problem and are arranging a refund.

You are probably correct. I tried all different variations to test it. As long as I quit each document separately, i.e., red dot it, I seem to bring up only one document after that whether I click on the document itself or open it within pages. The same is true with numbers.
Two more questions:
1) can you turn off the "resume" feature? If so, how? I could not find a way to do it.
2) why the "save a version" feature in pages? What happened to the old "save" and "save as" features?

What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Has anyone had any problems with their charger blowing out? mine blew, there's now a charred pin on the charger and in the socket of the macbook. The plastic around the charge socket is also cracked & distorted from the blow-out. It wasn't a power surge as no other electrical items were affected. It wasn't liquid or dust, as I'm the only person who uses it & I'm very careful. I'm concerned that the consequences could have been terrible. I wasn't present when it happened though, I can just see the evidence after the event.
I have a mid 2010 13" Macbook running the latest software & use the original magsafe charger that came with it.
Will I have to fork out for a costly repair or is there a safety issue that Apple will sort out for me?
Any advice would be much appreciated.Everything in the box with iPhone is covered by the iPhone warranty ,go to Apple genius bar before warranty expires

I am trying to connect to Oracle VPN.Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I am still getting the could not validate server certificate error. I have tried importing the entire certificate chain as well as importing each individual cert in the chain. My certificate works perfectly with the cisco vpn on my pc.
This is my first experience owning an apple product, and I am very disappointed with the customer support that I have received. I tried calling the help line and no one would even attempt to answer my question. I was then told that the Mac "geniuses" wouldn't know either and that I may be able to find an answer on the message boards. I better not! My iMac is only a week old. And, if I did have any problems with it, I would let Apple deal w/it! I do not troubleshoot when I'm under warranty. That's Apple job! -

It's more likely the OP's router. I have a wifi only iPad 2, yet location services work just fine on my iPad. If I open maps, my location is found quite nicely. I have seen that some routers do not provide location services and I suspect the OP has such a router.

Has anyone had a problem with their imac after the power company--in my case Pepco in Washington DC--installed "smart meters" which read the meter and transmit the data via wireless? I've had trouble and when I move the imac downstair it disappears. Help!

It might, as long as the shield is grounded. Metallic (such as copper) window screen is often sufficient.
As mentioned, it would not hurt to file a complaint. The burden of proper shielding should probably belong to Pepco. Among other things, the FCC frowns upon RF leakage and its interfereing with radio communications. Besides, Pepco probably would not want you to affix a shield around their gear - liability issues, etc.
You could experiment by temporarily hanging a shield-screen on the inside of the wall, behind where the meter transmitter device is located, and see if there is any beneficial change.
