Has anyone not working with .dv files had sound synchronization problems? I'm not exactly sure what the alternatives to DV are, but I think one of them is HD.
The reason for asking this question is to help isolate the nature and cause of a very serious flaw in iMovie '11. In the original release of iMovie '11 (version 9.0) there was a small--but serious--synchronization problem. In the 9.01 there is a large synchronization problem. We know of one person who has not experienced the problem, and he is not working with DV files (media). So we want to find out if anyone who is using something other than .dv files is experiencing a lack of synchronization between sound and picture. Knowing the answer to this will help with figuring out where the cause lies. For the initial iMovie '11 release (9.0), you probably would not notice a problem unless you had very long event-clips, e.g., two hours long. Events get this long if you are transferring from analog 8 mm tapes. Even then, it would have to be in scenes in which the connection between event and sound is obvious, e.g., close ups of people talking. It isn't until the 9.01 release that most people would notice anything. All we need to do is establish one case of a synchronization problem in which the person is using something other than DV.

Hopefully, the 9.0.2 release will make my question moot. Zyfert must have posted the announcement of the release just as I was formulating my question. Still, if you have information on the subject, it would be interesting to hear.

Doing my MacBook Pro is a production machine i preferred to not waste more time to proof understand the issue and try to solve it by a workaround.
So i have reinstalled SL and it's last combo update, repaired system permission by installation disk. Now all works fine and have had no problem with applications and other settings. Magic: no loss of data or app settings. Now Office file quick look previews all files (old and new).
Font Library also works well, except about a font that which it's probably corrupted (or not compatible even if it seems to be)
At the moment i've not installed the last security update...I'm too afraid of having to start all over again :-)))
First I'll try to read up best on solutions in case Quick Look do still the same issue.
I know that it is not a "solution" but i was wasting too much job time. I think i will survive a few more weeks without it !!! :-)

Validation Event Handler Not working with Flat File GTC Trusted Recon

We are created Event Handler for checking special characters in Telephone field.Its working fine when the user is created through Admin Console.but the event handler is not triggering while doing GTC Flat File Trusted recon.

Validation Event handlers will not work with your trusted recon. You can use the GTC Validation provider, it is nothing but the plugins which you can insert with in your source field in GTC. I think you can easily get the steps for how to create a custom GTC Providers.

DW9 (CS3) split view not work with ASP files?

I just installed and ran DW CS3 (ver 9.0 bulid 3481) -- I use
"coder" view for the screen layout. I like the split-view style
since I code inline HTML with my ASP and ASPX code. However, the
new version has the split-screen view button grayed out. How do I
enable split view when I edit files that are not just ending in
"htm" or "html" extensions? If the Adobe programmers made an
ASSumption then they need to issue a patch and remove it pronto. I
do not want someone else making decisions on how I do my work...I
get enough of that from Microsoft already, I do not need it from my
tools also. Please forward this to the developers if there is no
way to change my preferences, otherwise please tell me how to edit
a config file or hex-edit the executable to get this funtionality
back. TIA!

I still can't figure out why the split view or design view is
grayed out and not accessible when editing files with an .asp or
.aspx extension and it is driving me crazy! I called the support
line and got someone in India who didn't understand my problem. 30
minutes later I finally got her to agree to transfer me to
secondary support but they were busy and she promised me they would
call the next day. That was over a week ago. I didn't even get a
voicemail, even though I stayed by my phone the whole day. I see
that support for DW under Adobe is no better than it was under
Macromedia...how sad. Microsoft Expression Web is looking better

Quicktime has suddenly not worked with any movies I have.

Yes, I've downloaded many .avi movies and they would all work with quicktime. For example, once completely downloaded, the movie would have a small icon of the actual movie, probably the first frame. Anyway, I have no idea when I stopped working, but I dl'd Adventureland today and whenever I double click to open it with QT, I get "The movie 'Adventureland.2009.DvDRip.AC3-FxM.avi' can't be opened." It then says I may need to install additional files to open it. I have VLC to watch it, so that's not a problem, however I'm concerned about what's going on. I have QT X and though I've tried to download 7.6.6, it won't let me because of QT X. So idk what's going on. Any ideas?? I also have the most current DivX codecs installed so I know that's not it. I'm going to try it with older files I've downloaded.

Hello,
Did you check the fulltext log files for more details about the errors. If the filter isn’t working, there should be errors in the error log file.

FlexUnit is working with FlashBuilder and not working with Build file

I have few flexunit test cases . When I am running those testcases from Flashbuilder FlexUnit plugin I am able to run all the testcases and when I run Build file to run those testcases , build file is launching my testrunner swf file and it is throwing follwoing runtime error in flash player

We had a similar problem in my project. Took a lot of research and trial and error, but we finally narrowed it down to the resource.properties file. Turns out that if the file gets too big it causes this problem. Extending the timeout doesn't help. You have to break your resource.properties into more granular files to reduce the file size. This seems to fix the problem. We have had it happen several times since then and we know how to fix it, so we get it fixed pretty quickly.
Not sure if this will fix your problem, but it fixed ours.

Flash Preloader Not Working with Local Files?

Hello all,
I have created a digital resumé using a Flash
presentation. The presentation links to several SWF files that are
rather large. I have designed and implemented preloaders for the
files.
My intent is to burn the whole product to CD for
distribution. The problem I am having is that my Flash preloaders
work perfectly in FireFox; I click the button in the main
presentation and the preloader comes up in the target screen,
followed by the SWF.
However, the preloaders do not work at all in IE, which
leaves a black pane with nothing in it and causes the user to click
the button several times trying to figure out why nothing is
happening.
The Flash presentation that is being displayed is embedded in
a HTML document. The user clicks a button to load a SWF to a
separate screen; the preloader runs until the file is loaded.
Any help you could provide is appreciated.

I have attached the actionscript for the data connection. The
odd thing about this issue is some of the data is being displayed
from the webservice call and then some is not. The drop down list
is not being populated but I am getting some text in a textarea
that is on the form. My datasource is a SQL Server database and in
ColdFusion administrator, I used the actual machine name to point
to the datasource because it is directly linked to my web server.
This configuration is the one giving me problems. If I change the
datasource to my test SQL Server (server.somewhere.com) it works
fine. Does this help any?

HTML Embed tag with Autoplay not working with MP4 file

Hi,
I've added this embed tag for my MP4 movie:

It's about 40 Mb big - so I obviously want to start playing as soon as possible so viewers will not wait for a long download. Problem is - it seems to ignore the Autoplay tag - resulting in waiting for a long time seeing the QT logo, and then starts when it's all downloaded.
Is that because it's an MP4 and not MOV?
Do I have the tag wrong?
Alternatively - is there any way to add a progress bar to show the download progress (aside from doing it through Flash)?

While it might be outdated - the "embed" tag worked on both IE and Firefox. I've tried this new code and for some reason it only works in IE, but not in Firefox. I don't know whether I should revert back to the "embed" tag or figure out what would make the new code universal to both browsers.
Regarding the file itself - I've closed in in a container of MOV in QTPro - and will soon upload it and check it. However, I've tried to re-export that MOV again with the "fast start" check marked - and it bounced the size up from 40 Mb to 267 Mb! I'm still trying different methods of compression - but not seeing good size/quality results. The original came out of Prism Video.

Using PS Elem6 on Netbook. Screen display size not working with NEF files

I use PH Elements 6 on my Netbook while traveling taking photos. I always take photos in the RAW (NEF) format.
The problem is when I attempt to bring up the Editor. It will automatically go to the Screen/Page for NEF file. The problem is that the screen/window that pops up is too large. The bottom of the pop-up is missing and there isn't a way for me to scroll down. The missing area is where I need to go to Save any changes I make.
Anyone have any suggestions?

ACR (and PSE in general) requires a minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768. What is the resolution of your netbook?
If it is at least 1024 x 768, it may be that ACR is coming up at a wrong size. You can try toggling into full-screen mode and back by typing the "f" key.
If it's less than 1024 x 768, then here's a clumsy workaround: Use the tab key to cycle the keyboard focus through all the conrols in the ACR display. As you hit tab, you'll see the different controls get highlighted. Right after Saturation, it cycles through Help, Save Image, Depth, Done, Cancel, Open Image. So you could tab to the appropriate button and then hit enter.
(Unfortunately, ACR, like many Adobe products, doesn't follow the Windows standards, which require that keyboard shortcuts be assigned to every button and that windows be movable using the cursor keys.)

Trying to save a png for web, and trnsparency is not working, i have never had this problem before

I am trying to save for web, a png with a transparent background, and even though I clicked the transparency check box, it is still producing an image with a white background, when exporting the png the transparency works fine, so I know it has nothing to do with the layers. Help!

I believe it is time for the list. Hopefully, it is one of the easy ones at the top; 5) is probably irrelevant for this case.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

External media: It is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky (for a while), but the chances of file corruption and other unpleasantnesses are immensely greater when you use anything but the harddisk, and it is better to be safe than sorry.

Hi Guys my first post here, after 3 days with struggling i gave up,and come here for your expert tips.
I bought a wintv 7 930 c hd tv card,working fine on my computer,but when i enter FMLE 3.2 and click start i get :
"Unknown Error Occurred. Device may be already in use or not working."
I disabled stereo mix in my sound setting in recording and have only a option to use my hauppauge tv card as line in for sound, but thats impossible for me, and now FMLE 3.2 also freezes a lot and not responding, same is happening when i try using normal stream with manycams and a videofile,no sound ,but good stream, so its the sound problem i cant fix at all here .
Any good tips would be very appreciate, heck i would even paypal you 20 bucks if you can help me with this .

QuickLook not working with eps files

My hard drive started to die late last year and I got it cloned. But now that I have a new hard drive, I can't preview eps files with QuickLook (holding down the space bar). I tried downloading this plugin http://www.eternalstorms.at/utilities/epsqlplg/ but it didn't work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I work at a printing company and I deal with a lot of eps files every day. It's really frustrating not being able to preview eps files and having to open every single one. I'd love to be able to get the preview feature back. I can preview everything else, just not eps files.

From a scripting level, ID doesn't see EPS as all vector, so I am unsure why it would be unable to differentiate during link updates. If I place a vector EPS and a bitmap EPS and do:

I suppose you could script around this irregularity by running a script that basically set all EPS with an effective PPI to 100% veritical and horizontal scale after you have scaled them correctly. Something like:
