Has FB15 transaction implementation caused side effects to Lockbox

We have recently implemented the new transaction FB15 for assigning of open items in customer account clearing.
Since implementation we are having issues in post processing of Lockbox . In the past we have been able to go back to previous month applied on account items from the lockbox application (Transaction Feba_Lockbox) and apply them to the proper invoices by changing the posting date to current month. Now we are not able to get to the screen that allows us to change the posting date and we get a hard error that says posting period is closed

> Does anyone know exactly what the problem is (what has Microsoft changed) ?
a) Go to <http://www.ciac.org/ciac/bulletins/p-006.shtml> and search for the "CAN-" links. Each component has a one paragraph description.
b) According to <http://patch-info.de/IE/2004/10/12/20-35-16.html> it contains:
mshtml.dll (6,0,2800,1476 - 29,09,2004)
urlmon.dll (6,0,2800,1474 - 23,09,2004)
shdocvw.dll (6,0,2800,1584 - 27,08,2004)
wininet.dll (6,0,2800,1468 - 23,08,2004)
browseui.dll (6,0,2800,1584 - 22,08,2004)
shlwapi.dll (6,0,2800,1584 - 20,08,2004)
c) Some of the things that could be breaking are DOM references and DHTML, which are advanced features that not every application uses.
From <http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-038.mspx>:
"Caveats: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 834707 <http://support.microsoft.com/?id=834707> documents the currently known issues that customers may experience when they install this security update. The article also documents recommended solutions for these issues."
Among other issues, that page says [<b>emphasis</b> added]:
- After you install the MS04-038 security updates for Internet Explorer, some dynamic HTML (DHTML) <b>drag-and-drop operations are blocked</b> by Internet Explorer.
- Security update 834707 includes a change to the way that Internet Explorer handles function pointers. This change in functionality occurs when an event handler points directly to a Document Object Model (DOM) function [...] Change in Internet Explorer function pointer behavior <b>causes code to not be executed</b> when an event handler is set to directly reference a DOM function after installing MS04-038 security updates.
BTW, Note 785308 has been updated with a workaround.

  • How to know side effects of implementing an SAP Note

    Hi All,
    Im new in implementing SAP Note.
    Kindly suggest how to analyize whether implementing an SAP Note will cause some side effect.
    How to do that ,I think just by looking at code can we assure that there will be no side effects.
    Kindly suggest.

    hello,
    the easiest way is to implement note and check the functionality manually for example execute transaction and post document or you could open the correction object (ABAP code) and analyse the correction which ll be imported and how those changes will effect your systems work. if you implemented the note and you noticed that corrections destroyed your previous functionality then you could rollback the note in your development system.

  • Accessing UIView.bounds has side effects?

    I'm trying to debug another CocoaTouch issue, and so I added a bit of logging to my view controller:
    NSLog(@"view size = %f,%f", self.view.bounds.size.width, self.view.bounds.size.height);
    But just adding this line of code changes the behavior, causing my lower subviews to appear about 45 pixels higher than they do without the line.
    I've read the UIView bounds documentation six times, but I can't see anything there suggesting that I should expect side-effects from the getter.
    Anybody know what's going on here?

    Hi,
    maybe it's because you're accesing self.view, wich will cause the view beeing loaded if it wasn't loaded allready.
    So, depending on where you put this line of code it could change the behavior of your app at least in theory.

  • Side effects of the /$sync transaction

    Hi!
    Does anyone know is there any side effects of using the transaction code /$sync, which is cleaning up all buffers?
    Personally I'm using it to refresh an ALV table, if it's structure was modified.
    But it is applied only for my session's buffers and it will not harm other people and will not kick out other people from the SAP system.
    Am I right?
    Thank you
    Tamá

    It will not kick out other people, but it does clear ALL buffers, and not only yours. Therefore you should not do it yourself, but rather ask some people from basis if you can and may do it or let them do it.
    help.sap.com:
    command $SYNC to reset all the SAP buffers on the application server. These commands only affect the buffers of the application server on which the commands are entered. The buffers of the other application servers in the network are not affected.
    Using the commands $TAB and $SYNC places an extremely large load on the system. In large systems, it could take up to one hour (depending on the access profile) for the buffer load to return to its original state. System performance is greatly impeded during this time.

  • MOPZ-generated SIDE EFFECT report never shows up in SOLMAN

    HI - we are using SOLMAN ST 400, SPS#24
    I am doing a MOPZ transaction for an ERP604/NW701 system landscape - specifically for updating from a lower SPS level to a more recent one...
    In MOPZ....i requested the SIDE EFFECT report.....at that time got to a screen where it displayed the following message "Your request has not yet been processed. Please check back again in a few hours. "
    I've waited more than 3 days - and still - when I go back into SOLMAN....into this same MOPZ transaction#....to look for the SIDE EFFECT report......it doesn't show up anywhere - instead....i just continue to see the same message (Your request has not yet been processed. Please check back again in a few hours. )
    Please advise
    (it seems that the process for MOPZ-generated side effect reports is not as "user friendly" as the "old" way - outside SOLMAN/MOPZ - of doing this - in the "old" way, using SMP....you always got a request id#....and you always got an EMAIL in a few hrs ....that you clicked on to get the report.....i see neither of these when using MOPZ)

    Hi there,
    sometimes the side-effect report may take longer to arrive due to a long processing time for the request. This may happen due to many concurrent requests at the same time, or because there are technical issues in the service backend systems here at SAP.
    I hear that you already got the side-effect reports after a delay, so I guess that your request was finally processed.

  • Are there any OSS notes side effects.

    Hello Everyone,
                            Can anyone tell me:
       Will there be any side effects if we implement OSS Notes in BW.
    Did anyone face this problem, i'm just asking you because we need to transfer a note from BW dev to BW prd, just wanted to be carefull about this and also
       Did anyone face any drawbacks after the implementation of the note?
       What if we apply the wrong note then how to rectify it? can any one suggest on this.please.

    Hi,
    Advice : You should only apply notes which you have read, once applied to the SAP Dev system you should check (you should have a checklist of things to check) and systematically go through it to see that the OSS note hasn't made something else in the system not work. Once the checks have been carried out and it has solved the original bug that you had then only should you promote it to production.

  • Side-effects or negative sides of specific kind of connection

    First of all, I have to say that I don't have much experience in networking.
    I'm interested to know are there any specific side-effects or negative sides of connecting method I'm currently using.
    I have an ADSL modem/router Huawei HG510, which has 4 ethernet ports, locked by internet provider to provide internet connection on ports 1 and 4, IPTV on port 3, and port 2 reserved for VoIP. Close to this router I have AirPort Extreme (n-version) which I've connected to ADSL router in this way:
    - _IPTV lan (ethernet 2) port on ADSL router is connected to WAN port on AirPort_
    - _Internet connection is provided through ethernet 1 (LAN 1) port on ADSL router which is connected to LAN 1 port on AirPort_
    AirPort Extreme is configured as a bridge with manually assigned IP address with DNS set to IP address of ADSL router.
    DHCP is running on a ADSL router.
    AirPort Extreme provides 802.11g-only WDS network. In another room there is a WDS remote - AirPort Express (b/g model) which is connected to stereo, and also to IPTV STB by using ethernet cable.
    AirPort Express is also configured as a bridge with manually assigned IP address and DNS set to IP address of ADSL router. Two computers (one PC and one MacBook Pro) connect to this wireless network (sometimes I connect them to AirPort Extreme by cable) and they both have manually assigned IP addresses.
    So basically AirPort Extreme provides both Internet and IPTV streams.
    I don't have any special problems with this kind of connection, but I've noticed that sometimes when I reboot the system on MacBook Pro, internet connection is not recognized immediately, and network diagnostic commands such as - arp work with a long delay. This fixes by itself after some time, but I would like to know what cause it.
    btw wireless network is set on Multicast rate of 24Mbps
    Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

    Is there a reason why you can't connect ethernet 1 (LAN 1) port on the router to the WAN port of the airport extreme base station? I'd have thought that might be better way for it to be networked to internet connection if going to act as bridge. networking internet connection and IPTV at same time may be not ideal situation for extreme base station network.
    Anyway, if I'm missing something then it's also possible that your network may just be a bit too technically complex for the extreme base station, it really is aimed to be plug and play and not that user configurable: it either works or it doesn't. If you have to have it as you describe above, and can't improve situation by altering settings present in the airport admin utility, then may want to look at other wireless bridges on the market.

  • Would like to disable HTTP and use only HTTPS yet I get side effects

    Hello,
    I have established a secure connection between the AS ABAP and AS Java.
    I would like assure that all communication between the servers is using https and for that, as a test, I have deactivated the http service using SMICM transaction.
    The only side effect I could recognize so far is that the Web Dynpro for ABAP stuff doesn't work through transaction SE80, the working area simply doesn't come up. If I activate HTTP again it is working.
    Am I doing the right thing by disabling HTTP completely and if yes, what else do I need to do in order to prevent this side effect from happening?

I have other cards that are the same age or older so should not majorly affect AaoA. Thoughts? I know some will say don't close cards, but they're store cards and I don't need to be responsible for store cards I don't use.If you have no use for them and don't foresee using them in the future then you should probably close them out.  They won't affect your AAoA as the cards will stay in your reports for 10 years.  No sense in keeping cards that you don't want just to take up room in your sock drawer.

  • Side Effects of not installing Java/XDB

    Hi,
    are there any side effects known (10g/11g), when not installing one of the following options:
    Spatial
    Oracle interMedia
    OLAP Catalog
    Oracle XML Database
    Oracle Text
    Oracle Expression Filter
    Oracle Rules Manager
    Oracle Workspace Manager
    Oracle Data Mining
    JServer JAVA Virtual Machine
    Oracle XDK
    Oracle Database Java Packages
    OLAP Analytic Workspace
    Oracle OLAP API
    As I know Java/XDB is mandantory in 11g cause of the new "firewall features" for the packages utl_tcp, utl_mail, utl_http, ...
    Does anybody had interesting side effects, when not not all options/users were installed?
    Thanks
    Marco

    It is only has a side effect when you run applications that require an option that is not installed.
    Install what you need based on your requirements.

  • Dropdownlist in DataGrid - strange side effect

    I am implementing a dropdownlist as a custom renderer in the Spark DataGrid. The following code will create a negative side effect: When I drop the control down to select an item it will take two clicks for the control to close and show the selected item. Here is the code:
    private function onDataChange(event:Event):void
                   Grid(owner).selectedItem[column.dataField] = selectedItem[column.dataField];
    Any idea what that might be?
    Thanks

    In stepping through the code I think I have identified where the problem is, but don't have a solution. It seems that the default preallocation size is being used, rather than taking the value configured in the TopLink mapping file. When I set the preallocation size in the Java code at runtime the problem goes away.
    But, this only provides me with a work-around. I would like to have TopLink read the mapping file and use what has been configured. Here is a snippet of my code for setting up the TopLink connections:
         login = new DatabaseLogin();
         DataSource dataSource = // get the configured datasource
         Connector connector = new JNDIConnector(dataSource);
         login.setConnector(connector);
         login.usePlatform(new Oracle10Platform());
         login.useNativeSQL();
         login.useNativeSequencing();
         // Would like to avoid doing the following
         //login.getDefaultSequence().setPreallocationSize(5);

  • Message has error status at outbound side File To Idoc Scenario

    hi ,
    In my File to Idoc scenario , when i go to sxmb_moni , i found that its showing red flag at Outbound Status Tab and showing message "Message has error status at outbound side".
    When i go to IDX5 and and select my idoc and click on Transaction Id it shows "Password logon no longer possible - too many faile" .
    Please suggest what may be the problem ?
    Regards,
    Rohit

    1. First check the RFC destination name used in receiver Idoc adapter communication channel.
    2. As i said earlier, in sm59 transaction in XI gui, u can check same rfc destination under type 3. There check the logon credentials and the username.
    3. Now goto the R3 system GUI and check in su01 that same user is locked or not. If locked unlock it.
    4. And if u change the password of that user, then do the similar change in XI -> sm59 -> rfc destination logon credential

  • What exactly are side-effects in #pragma no_side_effect?

    Which of the following qualify as side-effects for the purposes of #pragma [no_side_effect|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-5265/bjaby?a=view#bjacp]:
    1. dynamically allocating/deallocating memory using malloc/free or operator new/delete
    2. exiting the function by throwing a C++ exception
    3. temporarily changing the disposition for a signal (e.g., ignoring or suspending a signal)
    4. creating a thread and joining with it

    Thanks for your answers! Just to make sure I understand correctly: accessing the local state of the caller through a parameter is not a side-effect. I.e., in the following snippet the function has_no_side_effects() has no side-effects:
    int get (int *p) { return *p; }
    void set (int *p, int x) { *p = x; }
    void has_no_side_effects () {
        int x;
        int y;
        set (&x, 0);    // not a side-effect (x is local)
        y = get (&x);   // same
    }But in the following, has_side_effects() does:
    void has_side_effects () {
        static int x;
        static int y;
        set (&x, 0);    // side-effect: writing a "global"
        y = get (&x);   // side-effect: reading a "global"
    }Also, reading global const data (i.e., what might be in ROM) is not a side-effect. Correct? E.g.,
    static const int global[] = { 1, 2 };
    void has_no_side_effects () {
        int x;
        int y;
        x = global [0];   // not a side-effect, global is in ROM
        y = global [1];   // same
    }

  • Message has error status on outbd. side (error in Moni)

    Hello All,
    Iam doing soap to idoc scenario, the scenario was working fine since long time....but yesterday we had an issue...we can see the message was sucessfully processed in XI monitor and RWB, but idoc not got created in sap ecc system.
    when i checked in moni one column called Outbound status is in error status and the error is message has error status on outbd. side.....i checked the idx1, idx2,sm59......all settings are fine.
    How to reslove the issue, please help me.
    Thanks and regards,
    Chinna

    Hi
    Please check the below  i think your problem will solve
    Hi,
    Check whether IDoc was created:
    1. Execute Transaction WE05; enter correct date/time parameters etc. If IDoc found in failed status, open status records folder and double click on the failed status records to get error message.
    Check Whether IDoc is received by the Receiver:
    2. Execute Transaction WE05; enter correct date/time parameters etc and verify if the IDoc was created or not and if IDoc is in a successful status or not. If the Idoc is in Status-30(Yellow), you can push it again through Transaction BD87.
    3. If the IDoc is located and status is successful but receiver has not received the IDoc, Execute transaction SM58 to determine if IDoc is stuck in the ALE/RFC layer. If entries exist in SM58, look for Message Type
    4. If message type exist and Run the Program "RSARFCEX". If after the RSARFCEX program has ran and IDocs are not in SM58, issue should be solved. Validate in receiving system via WE05 that the IDoc was received or not.
    5. If IDoc is still stuck in SM58, check RFC connection. Go to SE37, enter function module RFC_PING. We need to have access to SM59 to test the RFC Connection.
    6. After an issue has been resolved and/or you need to process an IDoc, besides processing IDocs via programs, you can also process IDocs via Transaction BD87.
    Thanks ,

  • Newbie: Method should or should not have side effects

    Hi experts,
    What does it really mean when I read for the InputVerifier class that the method 'shouldYieldFocus' can have side effects but the method 'verify' should not have side effects.
    Thanks for you comments.
    tuckie

    I am but a newbie only asked to learn and maintain. The reason I ask about side effects is that the shouldYieldFocus() method is invoked twice for the same tab key event. When the tab key (or mouse click) wants to move focus to another input the current input's shouldYieldFocus() is invoked, it in turn invokes verify() which validates data returning true or false and checks to see if a warning should be issued that the data is legal but high. If the data is not high it also returns true and the focus is yielded. Also shouldYieldFocus() is only invoked once. It is when the data is high and the showConfirmDialog() is put up that I get the second shouldYieldFocus() invocation. The previous coder put in a de-bouncing mechanism and I think this is where/how the problems with the next field are created. Sometimes the next field's focusLost() is invoked without the operator making any input. The focusLost() does some fill in the blank things that are reasonable only if the operator really wanted not to fill in any data in the field.
    Back to my original point, I was wondering if the fact that the verify() method may have a dialog box put up before it returns to shouldYieldFocus() is the kind of thing that shouldn't be done - no side effects. If so then it could be the likely cause of the problem with the next field sometimes being automatically filled in as if it had received a focusLost() event.

  • Cursor_sharing Side-effects

    I have a situation where several off-the-shelf applications (same vendor) are running on the same instance. One of the is performing poorly and I was able to get a good performance boost with cursor_sharing=force. After much testing in QA, we are ready to move it to production.
    Now two of the other applications are having trouble. Apparently, the applications do some very basic selects from sqlplus and then parse the results. Setting cursor_sharing to force has had a side-effect (bug) that changes the column widths of these selects. The end result is that the other application fails because it can't parse it correctly.
    This is a documented problem and Oracle recommends to always explicitly set your column widths in sqlplus. This is what we want to do, but the effort is not small.
    A kludge work-around is to alter cursor_sharing before and after the batch processes. This can be done at either the system or session level.
    My question is this: Is there a simple way to set it up so an that when this black-box application create a session, it will set the cursor_sharing to force?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Setting cursor_sharing to force has had a
    a side-effect (bug) that changes the column widths of
    these selects. Actually it is the off the shelf applications that have the bug, they are not using bind variables which means you are overparsing and fragmenting your shared pool. Poor performance is about the best you will get from such applications. You are also likely open to security issues that arise from [url=http://www.google.com/search?q=sql+injection
    ]sql injection.
    Cursor sharing force is a workaround for a badly written application. It auto binds all literals. This means plans will change and all literal values are variables which could contain anything which leads to the problem you describe.
    select 'test' from dual;becomes
    select :b_sys_0 from dual;where :b_sys_0 could be 4000 characters long.
    I would second kamathg's advice that if you need to use the cursor sharing workaround to only set it at the session level for the application that needs it using the logon trigger.
    You should do this as an interim measure while you file a bug report with the software vendor to have them fix their application.
    The security issues do not go away.
