Have been using iPhone 5 without sim for 6 months, restore, and now I can't complete restore, this error:
"There is no sim card in the iPhone you are attempting to activate.
Please disconnect and insert a SIM card in the iPhone."
There is a lock symbol above right, but, can’t do anything with that.
I am not trying to activate the phone, just doing a restore . The phone was unlocked by AT&T 6 months ago, after contract was up.
This is strange, I’ve been using this iPhone (5) for 6 months without a SIM, first time I’ve tried to do a restore, and it won’t let me, thinks I want to activate it? I just want to continue to use it as an iPod touch. What do I do? I have the old sim card, but, I don’t want to put it in and attempt to activate it, it is an AT&T sim and I left them behind 6 months ago. I could try the T-Mobile SIM in my iPhone 6, unless it is again smaller than the iPhone 5 sim?
I should be able to restore this phone without the sim and continue to use it as an iPod touch, why is this a hassle??? I'm a long time Apple user, prefer their products, but, sometimes Apple is extremely frustrating! Aarg!

ok, I did, and it said again congrats your iPhone is unlocked, but, when it said there was a new carrier update, I cancelled it, but, it asked me again, I cancelled again, I guess I'm scared it will lock it again if I allow the carrier update.
Oh, there it goes again, this time on the phone, arg. I hit update, I hope it doesn't freak out.
I'm glad I didn't destroy the SIM like I almost did. But, it will come out again, longer battery life with the cell portion turned off.

I installed V8.0.1 several weeks ago (or what I thought was V8.0.1) and got Awesome Screenshot (A.S.). Although it was stated that AS was not compatible with V8.0.1 I installed it any way and it worked. I have been using it every day until this morning. Another Firefox update came down this morning. Although I clicked the “Update Later” box, it updated at that time anyway. (This has happened every time I received an update in the past and clicked “Update Later” box, but that another problem; not the issue today.) After today’s update completed and I restarted Firefox. I check the version and it still was V8.0.1. All of my extensions were gone. I followed the instruction for re-enabling. All of the extensions were marked “disabled”. Only two of them had “enable” buttons (Garmin Communicator and InvisibleHand), both of which I didn’t load nor use. All extensions had “Remove” buttons. Is there any way for me to get A.S. working, I use it often. If not, how about “Screengrab”. That’s better than nothing.
I am using Windows XP Professional SP3.

[email protected]There is a known issue where multiple instances of plugin container open if history or cookies are cleared. Are you, or some utility clearing firefox cookies or history, that could be the reason. This problem continues even if plugins are disabled in Firefox.
*Are you opening multiple instances of Flash Player ?
* Is the problem reproducible ? <br/> for instance does it always crash the plugin or cause it to hang if you use a particular site ?
If you get the FlashPlayer plugin crashing use the option to submit the crash reports, it is then possible to follow them up. It is possible to stop the plugincontainer opening, but that could result in a firefox crash. Of course the firefox crash can also send crash reports out, and that could be useful.

There are some problems with FlashPlayer currently under investigation, and there may be other threads in the forum about problems. (e.g. Bug 561019 - Plugin waveOutOpen hangs )
Sometimes using Firefox 3.6 is a workaround that helps with FlashPlayer problems, if you wish to experiment with that consider installing firefox Portable and using Firefox 3.6.23 (or soon 3.6.24) for tests with flash player, whilst keeping firefox 7 for day to day browsing.

Tried to make a purchase thru Itunes with a credit card I have been using for years. Now it wants my security code which I entered three times and it said it was wrong (I know the correct) number. Then I changed to another credit card, and it is still denying by purchase. I was prompted to go to this website so here I am. Can you please help me out
Thank yyouwhenever you attempt to put a card on itunes it puts a temporary $1 authorization hold for 24 hours - 48 hours depending on your bank - since you attempted so many times that is why that $1 is showing up so often - are you using a debit card? because if you are then if even the authorization hold doesn't go through like it should it will show a "ghost" charge that will drop off soon - it isn't fraud though - make sure your billing address is correct - if that doesn't work contact itunes store at getsupport.apple.com - click itunes - itunes store and follow the prompts and you can chat or email them.

A project I've been working on for months crashed and now I can't open it.
I had two external hard drives hooked up to backup a project. I backed it up so it was on both drives and tried to open it from one of the drives. I wasn't thinking and had both drives still hooked up. I am guessing this was the problem. Now when I try to open from either drive (when I unhook the other) Logic will asks something about my last rewire session ending abruptly and then I just see that **** pinwheel and have to Force Quit. My backup drive won't open it. My regular drive won't open it. Help. Please.

have you tried to open a "last saved session version" instead of the actual song file?
There is a folder inside your song folder which stores these song files.
Logic can be set up to autosave many previous versions of your song file,to help in recovering from stuff like this.
Also,if the ReWire seems to be the problem...maybe look to make sure you did not accidantally update/change that (the ReWire client+drivers).

Does the phone still charge when you use the wall adapter?
If yes, charge it for about 10 min, then try to do a reset by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again.

I have been using one apple ID for my family as it makes it easier to manage itunes purchases/rentals on all of our devices. Now that my kids are getting old and my wife has recently purchased an Iphone, I can see that I need to change my strategy. I plan to add a few more iphones to the family very soon. 2 days ago my FF3.6.3 started becoming extremely slow/delayed on EVERYTHING/ALL ACTIONS (I have been using 3.6.3 for a few months with NO problems, until 2 days ago). Scrolling going in delayed/slow/jerky 'waves' motion (not smooth & fast), Right-click box very delayed/hangs in coming up, Text typing lagging/intermittent, activity extremely slow/delayed when pointing mouse over anything, changing from tab to tap extremely slow. Bascially EVERYTHING has become sooo slow, delayed, lagging etc. I have tried ALL possible checks (extensions, add-ons, plug-ins, download history, cache, cookies) & viewed nearly ALL the FF help sites. Is this a sudden/recent bug?? It doesnt only happen with Facebook, but EVERY window I open!!

Either the physical drive or the enclosure electronics has failed. The light you are seeing is powered by the USB connection, the power, electricity, all USB ports put out. That doesn't mean the actual physical hard drive or the USB to SATA bus electronics are working properly. If it doesn't show in Disk Utility then it is DEAD.
Most of the time it is the enclosures electronics that fail. Removing the physical drive from the enclosure and put it in another enclosure or using a SATA to USB adapter, one that has it's own AC power supply, might allow you to get the files off the drive. -
I have an iMac and have been using Adobe reader successfully for sometime. Recently, however, whenever I go to sign a document on Adobe reader The document closes unexpectedly with an error statement. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe reader with no improvement. What do I do next?

I have been using firefox aurora 7 for mac. Most of my handful of add-ons have been disabled -- including Read It Later and Feedly, which I was making good use of. Can you tell me when they will be enabled for firefox aurora 7? Maybe I should go back to firefox 6
You can use the Tab key to select a search engine on the bottom bar and press Enter to use the search engine to do the search.

In the current Firefox 34 release there is a new "one-off" search bar.
This search bar doesn't show the name of the search engine and a logo.
You can type one letter to make a drop-down list appear where you can see suggestions and see the used search engine and that also has bar at the bottom where you can select other search engines that are enabled via the Search tab in Options/Preferences.
You can use the Tab key to select one of the other available search engines and press the Enter key to search with the selected search engine.
Click the search engine icon and click "Change Search Settings" to open the Search tab in Options/Preferences (positioned between Tabs and Content) to select the default search engine and select which search engines to show in the search bar drop-down list that opens when you start typing search terms.
