Have LV 7.0 and 7.1.1. When I start LV 7.0 it wants to install it every time.
I have both LV 7.0 and 7.1 installed on my system. Every time I
start LV 7.0, it wants to "install" something from the CD. Of
course it doesn't say what it wants, just that the feature I want is on
the CD.
If I double-click on a vi this doesn't happen - it starts fine.
It only happens when I start LV 7 from the Start menu or desktop icon.
This doesn't happen with LV 7.1.

I just figured it out. The shortcut on the desktop must have been pointing to a strange location.
I can't find out where because the properties dialog for it just showed
"LabView" as the target with no path, and it was grayed out so I
couldn't change it. The "Find Target..." and "Change Icon..."
buttons were also grayed out.
Why does Microsoft obfuscate things like that?
I deleted the shortcut and made a new one to c:\program files\national
instruments\labview 7.0\labview.exe and it works fine now. The
strange thing is that it did start LV 7.0, but it wanted to do some
installation every time.

My new iMac has recently had OSX Lion installed on it and now when I start the machine it looks like its updating something every time, and the wireless doesn't work. I've been having the same issue, but have just discovered something on my own that hasn't been pointed out in any of the forums I've visited. In what I thought would be a vain attempt to help myself, I went to System Preferences, Users & Groups, and then clicked on Login Items. I discovered that one of the Items that was listed to open automatically upon login was iTunes Helper and that there was an exclamation point beside it indicating that it was incompatible. I simply deleted that item and now I don't have the situation you described and my wireless is connected. Hope this helps!

I have a new imac and cannot get the ical to show all of my calenders. I have gone to system prefrences and clicked the calendar setting and it freezes and i have to force quit. I have restarted the computer multiple times. Any suggestions?

I have Adobe Acrobat Proffesional and Adobe Reeader. When ever I open a document it closes on its own in about 10 seconds. How do I fix this?
Windows 7.
Adobe Acrobat 8 with the Original DVD.
Adobe Reader X1 downloaded off Adobes site.
Both versions of adobe close after 10 seconds or so once I open a PDF file. I started having this problem about 2 weeks ago. Everything else if fine with the computer

I have set up a Netgear dual band modem which works well with the iPhone and an older MacBook, but with this brand new MacBook it asks for a password every time I reopen the computer and open safari. As you can imagine this is very annoying. It says I am not connected to the internet and offers me a choice of nearby networks including mine and then asks for a password when I select it. Why does it do this with our new MacBooks (also with my son's brand new one) and not with the iPhone, iPad and older MacBook? They happily automatically connect to our network after entering the password just the once.
Sig, I appreciate you trying to be helpful. I have no idea what issues you were having or what issue exactly pgrounds has been having. Your assumption that everyone's set up is the same as yours is false however. There are many many documented WiFi issues that are a result of Lion installs. Many have been solved by 10.7.1 and 10.7.2. Others have been solved by a large variety of work arounds. Others have not had their issues solved yet.
I am one of those. I have an IT background, and I spent the better of five hours digging up workarounds and attempting all of them. For the benefit oh anyone who is having similar issues, I have posted links to all of those workarounds here. None of them worked in my case, but hopefully they will help pgrounds or others.
So, once again, if you have a new idea, I'd love to here it. But if it has already been posted in one of these links, it's not helpful, let it go.

my 3 year-old macbook pro is very slow. I have run disk utility and virus scan with no improvement. The "beach ball" will spin for minutes at a time when opening, closing or changing windows. Apple Store looked at it a few months ago with no help. What can I do?

Why not use an event
Add a While Loop, inside the loop add the Event Sructure.
Now in the event structure selecd the String Controls.value change event to
react
and the new value inside the event that you get,( connect to the String
indicator box.

I have had it for 2 weeks now, got it brand new at the apple store, it freezes all the time, and reboots itself, sometimes when i start it, purple dots cover the screen and i have to hold the power button. a 2 week old computer is not supposed to do this! it wastes all its time being so flashy that it just craps out all the time. sometimes i feel like i should have stayed with my virus covered PC. at least when it shut down randomly you could turn it back on, but with the macbook pro, it just keeps restarting itself over and over. need help with this, any answers?

it all depends on what's running in the macbook air that causes it to heat up.
open activity monitor - change my processes to all processes - and on the %CPU, click it twice and see what running using 10% and above in the %CPU section.
highlight anything that are using high CPU percentage and hit quit process. see if that brings the temperature back down to normal.

I updated Itunes today to the latest version. Windows 7 64bit. None of my drivers work and get an error when itunes starts, about registry setting for reading and writing dvds and cds missing. Anyone else have the same issue. I downloaded itunes again, reinstalled still have same issue.
