I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

However, Adobe will soon introduce Cloud only features into Lightroom CC for which LR6 (perpetual license) owners will have to wait until LR7 (paid upgrade).
That is possible, John, but it is only speculation on your part. Might, not will.

There is a "Lightroom 6" upgrade available for US $79 if you have a valid license for any of the earlier versions. From what I can tell, the only difference between Lightroom 6 Full, Lightroom 6 Upgrade and LightroomCC is in the license. The download file is the same.
Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

I have got Indesign CS6 (Creative Cloud subscription) but I also need Indesign CS5.5. Can I buy it?

Adobe CS 5.5 is not available for sale from any reliable source, including Adobe.
If you see offers for the product on other websites, BEWARE! It's highly likely that they are bogus software, which is not legally obtained or licensed.

  • Do I have to pay for Creative Cloud to use Adobe products?

The subject says it all. I don't have any interest in the Creative Cloud service, or need for it, but I just got auto-charged $50 for it.
I also now pay $50/month to use Adobe software... I think it's called Creative Suite.

I got an e-mail with the title
Confirmation: We received your Creative Cloud membership (one-year) payment
    Then it said:
We received payment for your monthly Creative Cloud membership (one-year) subscription, and your membership will renew on 29-November-2013 (PT).* Here are the details about your payment.
So... I read this to mean that I just paid for a 1-year membership, and **assumed** I would also be getting billed to use the Creative Suite software.
I signed up early for the Creative Suite, and was paying $39/month. I knew it was going to go up to$50.
Now that I know Adobe has changed Creative Suite to Creative Cloud, this all becomes clearer.
Thank you for answering my question.
ps = if Adobe is listening, it sure would be nice if I could pay for the software I actually use instead of tons of things that I don't.

  • Few Questions on the Creative Cloud

I have read that the Creative Cloud Connection will be released within the next few weeks which is great. I have a few questions about file uploading and the Creative Cloud Connection program.
I have a folder which I will upload. The contents of that folder will be updated periodically locally. I want to the files in that folder to stay up to date between my desktop and laptop. Will the Creative Cloud Connection program be able to do that?
If a file is changed that is already in the cloud will the program recognize the change and keep the cloud up-to-date?
I guess a little more information about exactly what the Creative Cloud Connection program will do would be nice.
On the topic of storage will I be able to upgrade from the standard 20 gb of storage that is available when/if needed? And how much will that be?
    One other question:
When will Lightroom 4 be available via CC and why is it not available since it has been released?

Creative Cloud Connection will keep files between your desktop and the website in sync. You will be able to add, edit and delete files from either end and see the changes reflected in both.
To see the the Creative Cloud Connection in action you can watch this video from Adobe evangelist Paul Trani http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-creative-suite-6-creative-cloud-launch-week/adobe-creative -cloud-tour-/.
There will be a way to get more than 20 GB of storage. The Adobe Creative Cloud FAQ http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html has a question and answer about this near the bottom:
Can I buy additional Creative Cloud storage?
Additional storage will be available for purchase later in 2012. If you have reached your storage limit, contact Adobe Customer Service.
Lightroom 4 will be available in a few weeks. Jeff Veen has also tweeted this https://twitter.com/#!/veen/status/200810541550288896. More from Jeff on what is coming to the Adobe Creative Cloud here in his Adobe blog http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/coming-soon-to-creative-cloud/.

  • Can your creative cloud account give you access to Flash Builder 4.6

Can your creative cloud account give you access to Flash Builder 4.6? 4.7 got rid of the design view, I need to get use out of the design view. Thanks

I wonder why when it would be a downgrade form the version 4.7 my subscription give me access to. There does not seem to any training that uses 4.7 I was lucky enough to find some that uses 4.6 and it covers things about the design view. I thinking since a lot of the material to learn it is kind-a-outdated (and still referrers a lot to design view) that it would be good to learn it with access to design view. This way I will understand what they mean and can distinguish between features. Thanks

  • Cancel creative cloud annual subscription

I would like to cancel my creative cloud annual subscription. Agreement states that I have to pay 50% of remaining contract. If there are 8 months left until next renewal, I pay 4 months. Does that mean I have access for the 4 months that I pay for?
Also, there is an over 1 hour wait on the phone. Why can't I cancel online?

    hi Zedstudio,
If you signed-up for a 12-month contract, and cancel mid way, there is indeed a billing for 50% of the remaining contract obligation. You won't be able to sign in to Creative Cloud applications after you cancel your contract.
You can cancel this online as well by using the Chat instead of Phone.  I hear the response time on the Chats is much quicker. Also you can get a record of the chat emailed to you at the end, so you personally have a record of the conversation that took place.
The Chat link is just above the Phone link at the bottom of the page, once you've clicked Still Need Help? Contact Us link. Contact Customer Care Note that you must be logged in with your Adobe ID and password that is associated with your account to see these details.

  • Save 50% when you upgrade your Creative Cloud web hosting, don't work for me

I got this e-mail: Save 50% when you upgrade your Creative Cloud web hosting.
I would like to upgrade my homepages, but I cannot come through with my  login,  when I use this login to redeem: http://businesscatalyst.com/promo/creative-cloud
But when I am on my own admin pages, and use the same login as I used above I can come through. What is wrong??
It is something wrong with this link: https://ava.worldsecuresystems.com/Admin/Index.aspx?OURL=businesscatalyst.com&to=
Please help me, as I want Creative Cloud site to the next level as soon as possible.

    Hello,
I believe this question was already answered via ticket #57102 - please see my response to that ticket for further details regarding the needed steps.
What I was trying to explain in my previous reply is that you can upgrade any Creative Cloud site directly through each site's admin area, not necessarily through the link mentioned on the promo page...
If you still have login issues with your Adobe ID (the updated email address) please access adobe.com -> Sign in -> Trouble signing in? to reset your password.
Please try that and let us know if that worked.
    Kind regards,
    Diana
