It generally means - just using random numbers for examples - the iTunes on your computer holds 45 gig of content, you have a 16 gig iPad which has 13 gig of free space and the content just won't fit.
Easy solutions. go into iTunes and 'manually manage' your content. I believe this is in the main summary tab for your device (connect your device, click on the icon in iTunes to access controls for your iPad
You may also need to choose to manually control content in both the music and movie tabs.

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again -
I addesd a lot of songs in my itunes, now when I synced my ipod this message appear "elma's ipod cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in the itunes library (additional 382m is required). Then I uncheck a lot of song and synced my ipod again same message appeared. Do I need to buy a new ipod with more memories? Somebody told me to check apply after I unchecked some of the songs but I cannot find the word APPLY. please help I'm not a very technical person.
The Sync button becomes the Apply button, if you change the iPod's settings in iTunes. If you are only unchecking songs in the iTunes music library, you click on the Sync button.
When you select the iPod in iTunes, you see the iPod's Summary screen on the main part of the iTunes window. There is a checkbox there for Sync only checked songs. Did you check that checkbox? If you want iTunes to ignore the songs you unchecked when syncing your iPod, that setting needs to be enabled. If you change that setting, you'll see the the Sync botton has changed to Apply. Click Apply.
That method of unchecking songs works, but it may become annoying over time, as you need to uncheck more and more songs. If you want advice on some other more convenient ways to make it work, you can post back. -

I have recently dropped Earthink as me dial-up provider. I now am using Virgin Mobile Broadband2GO. I was using Safari. I am now using Yahoo! Mail Plus. It suggested I switch to Firefox. I had an older version of Firefox (2.0.0.6) and started using it. It suggested I needed to upgrade because many of the newer web sites wouldn't work well on this older version. The storage you purchased is in the cloud, and doesn't do anything with your pad. Your problem is simply that you have too much content on your pad. Go to settings, general, usage, and it will show you how much space you have avaliable on your pad. If you let the screen sit for a while, all the apps will be displayed, and you can see how much stuff you have associated with each.
You have to no option but to delete some of the content on your pad. Videos, comics, pitcures and some music files use a lot of space. The cloud allows you to leave stuff there, so you can get it when you need it. -

You can try to repair the permissions for the Firefox application files and folders.

Every time I connect my my iPod or iPad to my laptop I get the error message "iTunes was unable to load provider data from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later" There is no problem with my internet connection and syncing then seems to occur OK. I upgraded to iOS 5 recently but have been getting the problem for several months. The previous version of Firefox is still on and operational. I get this message when I try to drag the Firefox icon to the application file icon. Since this is my computer, and I am the administrator, I don't know what privileges I lack, or on which items. If there is a way to correct this I would like to do so and activate the new version. It looks like the new version is 7.0.1 for Mac OS. This happens everytime I try to load the new version by dragging the icon.

This is a MBP 13" Retina with flash drive. It is only a few weeks old. Problem started in last few days. I ran check and fix permissions in Disk Utiliity. Also made sure the folder with all my photographs has RW permission for me through Finder > Get Info > Sharing & Permissions. None of this helped.
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:

Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select ▹ Restart from the menu bar. -
I also created a new library and tried file-import but cannot see / access any files in the original aperture library with that command.
If you use the Command to Export Project as New Library, then such a Library can be imported into another Library with the command to Import Library/Project. The first such export as New Library can be the"seed' Library for starting the process.
But the most important point is there is no performance gain from small Libraries where you think one has become too large, if the new Library is to be on the same disk drive as the original. My primary library is 1 TB in size, and works as well as tiny test libraries.
