Having trouble calculating time

i need help calculating times in Adobe Designer. I am creating a simple form for keeping track of hours worked. i am using a simple calculation subtracting one field from another to get hours worked from 2 times entered but the calculation doesn't work when :30 or :15 are entered. i am giving each field its own name and i am using h:MM A as a display. sorry for my simplicity - the scripts are really difficult for me. any help is appreciated - i am tearing my hair out:)

Hi,
First of all is it possible to add times?
What you can do is to use another format. Decimals instad. Then the user can fill in 0.5 for :30 and 0.25 for :15
A workaround solution.

  • Having trouble getting time capsule to backup my files automatically.

I have been having trouble with time capsule ever since I upgraded to the Mountain Lion OX.  I get the error message..."backup disk can not be found".  The only was I can get it to work (temporarily) is to unlug the time capsule and plug it back in.  Then the next day, same issue appears.  I have checked and my airport firmware is up to date and I check/update everything else on a regular basis.
Any help on how to solve this problem permanently?

  • Having trouble with time capsule, won't find backups

having trouble with time capsule, won't find backups

Usually a simple reboot will work.. Reboot the TC..
If that is not enough.. Restart the whole network from off.
Mountain Lion and to a lesser extent Lion.. have network issues and lose track of the TC.

  • I having trouble using time machine

I having trouble using time machine on my mac. When I click it, it wants me to set it up. When I click on that it says  to select backup disk but there is nothing on the page, it's blank.  What do I do next?

Have you connected the Hard Drive you want to storage your backup? If the answer of this question is yes, you need to format it in "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" It can be a NTFS drive and you are probably using macfuse to have permission to read and write it time machine can't write on NTFS (As far as I know) Hope it helped

  • Having trouble getting Time Capsule/Airport to connect to new Comcast Internet service

Ok let first start off by saying that as good as I am with computers, Networking ***** and I suck even more at it. With that being said, I'm having a lot
Of trouble with my Time Capsule. At least the airport part of it anyways. We just got Comcast Internet hooked up this morning and the guy that came over said I har Internet on my main computer, I just need to redo the setup on my airport and I'll be good to go. So I thought cool that's simple enough to change it back to default settings and just go through the process of setting it up again....WRONG! I go through the setup and first of all I have no idea what the difference between "Bridge Mode" and the other option but since I never use bridge mode, I just went with the other option. However, once I complete the setup, I have the flashing amber colored light and airport is saying I have two problems one is about "Internet Connection" and the other is for "No DNS Servers". At this point, my wireless devices can see the wireless network I've setup but there's not actual Internet to do anything. However, my main compute that's connected by Ethernet to the modem can connect just fine. So I decided to do a power cycle on everything. All the connections are correct and so I turn it all back on and I still have the same problem with the airport but now my main computer can't connect to the Internet anymore. Needless to say I got frustrated and had to leave for work. So my question is how do I resolve this and get my Internet connect and airport up and running properly? If someone. Luke just break it down to me step by step to the level of a 10 year old that would really help as I mentioned before I'm really terrible when it comes to networking. Any help is appreciated!

If you are not already using AirPort Utility 5.6 download it here: AirPort Utility 5.6.
Power down the modem, the Time Capsule, and disconnect everything connected to them. Let them both rest for a moment or two.
Using an Ethernet patch cable, connect the Time Capsule's WAN port to the modem's Ethernet port. Connect both of them to power, modem first. Give them both a moment or two to wake up.
Open AirPort Utility 5.6 so that my screenshot below will resemble what you have.
Select your Time Capsule in AirPort Utility and select "Manual Setup".
Make yours look like the following screenshot:
The other options, such as TCP/IP, your wireless network name and password, ought to be self-explanatory but click through them and ask about anything that is not obvious to you. The important settings are in the above screenshot - that "Connect Using" is set to "Ethernet", and that "Connection Sharing" is set to "Share a public IP address".
Under the TCP/IP, Configure IPv4 should be set to "Using DHCP". Other settings should resemble the following but many parameters are up to you:
Click Update, resolve any errors that it may report, and let the Time Capsule reset.
Whatever you do don't disconnect the Time Capsule from the modem. Most modems will refuse to talk to anything other than the device it finds connected to its Ethernet port when it wakes up, so disconnecting it from the Time Capsule and connecting it to your computer for the purpose of replying here will confuse things.
That is pretty much it, but if you are still unsucessful, "hard reset" the Time Capsule - using a toothpick or functional equivalent, depress its tiny reset switch continuously, about a second or so, long enough for the LED to flash rapidly. That will reset the Time Capsule to its factory default condition. When you do this, the Time Capsule creates an open wireless network named "Apple Network xxxxxx" which exists for the sole purpose of configuring the Time Capsule. You must explicitly connect to this network to configure it. In AirPort utility, select the Time Capsule, and just answer the questions. When you are finished, the network "Apple Network xxxxxx" will cease to exist, so you must connect to the network you just created.
I make frequent use of toothpicks to reset AirPorts because I invariably mess up some setting, so if you find yourself doing this too then you're probably making normal progress.

  • Having trouble getting Time Machine to back up my external hard drive.  Any suggestions?

I'm running Mountain Lion on my iMac and I've been using Time Machine to back it up to my Time Capsule.  Recently, the iMac's hard drive filled up, so I moved my iTunes library to a new Airport Time Capsule.  But I can't seem to get Time Machine to include the new Airport Time Capsule in its back up.
The only suggestion I can find is to make sure it's not excluded in the Time Machine options, and I can see that nothing is excluded.  However, when I go into Time Machine, the Airport Time Capsule is greyed out in the Finder window.
Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance, I'm a little nervous about having my iTunes library hanging out there without a back up...

You can't back up the internal drive of the Time Capsule with Time Machine. It will only back up locally attached storage devices, not network devices. There's no way around it. You may be able to back up the TC with third-party software such as "Carbon Copy Cloner," but it will be very slow. The internal drive of the TC is only suitable for use as a backup device. It's not suited for storing original data.
yeah well you can use the external hard drive as a data extension to the time capsule internal hard drive. like a RAID in effect...

  • Anyone having trouble with Time Machine?

Mine will NOT finish any backup so it's constantly running the HD. THe onscreen panel will say
"Backing up 132,386 items" and "492.2 MB of 492.2 MB" and it just keeps thrashing the drive.
    For hours, I mean.
I told it to "Stop Backing Up" (on right click popup menu) and then I went into "Time Machine Preferences" and turned it off with the switch and clicked the padlock to lock it in the OFF position, and it's STILL RUNNING.
The only way I can stop it is reboot, cold.

Restart your machine if need be and turn it off. If you don't have any data on the TM disk other than TM, then reformat it (with case sensitivity OFF). If you have data on there, then just trash teh TM backup folder. DOnt' forget to empty trash. Turn TM back on and let it do it's thing. Don't browse the drive to see what it's doing; don't start modifying file sto test it out - just leave it be till it's done.

  • Having Trouble Transferring Time-Machine files on Case Sensitive External to another External

Techies and Hard Drive Nerds: I have old Time Machine Backups formatted MAC OS Extended (Case Sensitive, Journaled). I want to take those items and move them to another hard-drive formatted MAC OS Extended (Journaled). I'm getting error message "The volume has the wrong case sensitivity for a backup."
How do I transfer these files?

Although the documentation says you can copy Time Machine backups in the Finder, it's very slow and sometimes doesn't work at all.
This technique will only work if the volume you're copying to is the same size, or larger than, the one you're copying from.
First, open the Time Machine preference pane and click the Select Disk... button. You may have to unlock the settings first by clicking the padlock icon in the lower left corner of the window. Authenticate as an administrator.
Delete the volume you're going to copy from the list of backup destinations. Then turn Time Machine OFF.
Launch Disk Utility, open the built-in help, and search for the term "Duplicate." Follow the instructions. All existing data on the destination volume will be erased. That shouldn't be a problem, because you don't want to mix backup and non-backup data on the same drive anyway.
If the volume you're copying was encrypted by Time Machine, you may have to unlock it first. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar of the Disk Utility window.
Turn Time Machine back ON and select the new volume as a backup destination. You can also continue to use the old volume, if you wish. The two will be alternated when both are available.
CAUTION: If the volume you're copying is corrupt, as shown by Repair Disk or Verify Disk in Disk Utility, then that corruption will be copied to the new drive. Don't copy data from a corrupt volume on a malfunctioning drive. Put the drive aside and don't use it until you're sure you'll no longer need the data. Then securely erase it and take it to a recycling center. Do the same if the Restore operation fails with "disk errors."

  • Trouble with time machine

I am having trouble with Time Machine. I keep getting several messages:  1.  Mac OS X can't repair the disk "Mona's I MAC"   2.  You haven't selected a location for Time Machine Backups.
When I try to select a location there is nothing there to select and the time machine will not stay on.  I have an external back up "my passport" by WD.  Could this be full?
    Need help.

I was running backup instead of time machine until I saw snow leopard had time machine improvements. I'm very happy with the performance so far w/ snow leopard (OS X 10.6) time machine performance.

  • I have a 27" imac (intel) my hard drive failed and I installed a new one. This is my first time dealing with this so I am having trouble re-installing the OS. Install disc spits out and ? mark with folder appears what am I missing?

Like the title says. My 1 TB drive failed and unfortunately my computer isn't covered on the replacement program even though my hard drive is the one they are claiming to replace. So that is not a solution just to get that out of the way. So I replaced the hard drive. What I am having trouble with is re-installing my OS. I have 10.6. When I load it and restart it just spits it out and I get the question mark folder. What am I doing wrong is there a step I'm missing? I did do a back up to my Time Machine before the crash. Can I plug it into it and reload format? I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty.

  • I am having troubles, when I open LR I get a message that there is an error and it will try to fix the error next time it opens, but I get the error next time it opens, and this is going on and on where I can not use LR, any suggestions?

I am having troubles, when I open LR I get a message that there is an error and it will try to fix the error next time it opens. LR closes on it's own, I reopen it and get that same message next time it opens, and this is going on and on where I can not use LR, any suggestions? If I click on a different set of photos in the libary before I get that message I might or might not get the message next time it oipens, but I still can not get to those photos, and it is not just one or two but most of my photos. HELP!!!!
    Thanks
    Carol

The first thing I would suggest is for you to go to the folder containing your catalog, using your system browser. There will be a folder that has the extension .lrdata. Delete that folder, and then try to start Lightroom. If that doesn't work, replace your catalog with your most recent backup.
