HD 2300 webcam kills external PC speakers

When HD 2300 webcam is connected via USB (PC is HP Pavilion 500 running Windows 7) - my external PC speakers only make a loud buzzing noise, music won't play on speakers (MP3 music files via Windows Media Player).  Music plays OK when webcam is disconnected.  Called HP support, they temporarily "fixed" this via remote control but webcam wouldn't come on.  When rebooted the PC, webcam came on and the problem returned.  Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello @VladR,
I understand that you are experiencing a buzzing sound from your speakers when you plug in your webcam. I am setting out some steps for you to try below:
Step 1. Click Start
Step 2. Click Control Panel
Step 3. Click Sound
Step 4. Click the Recording Tab
Step 5. Click on the Microphone
Step 6. Click on Properties
Step 7. Look for Acoustic echo cancellation and make sure it is check
***NOTE: You may have different settings, different tabs depending on the drivers installed. What you are looking for here is the ability to impede the feedback that you are getting. If you cannot get the feedback to completely stop you may want to look into separating the speakers from your webcam as much as you can.
If you are unsure as to what options to choose you can take screenshots of the tab contents of ALL the tabs you see and post it so I can see and help.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

How do I connect my MacBookPro to my external amp/speakers.
There's is no choice in sys pref to choose LINE OUT, only INTERNAL SPEAKERS.

The headphone jack is your combo headphone/line out. You use a mini plug on the MBP end and, depending on your external amp/speakers, either a mini jack or a pair of RCA jacks.
PS. Your OS X level can't be 10.3.7 ... MacBook Pro's were first delivered with OS X Tiger 10.4.

  • External JBL speakers no longer work

I downloaded an update for itunes and now my external JBL speakers no longer work. They do not appear on the list of options under system preferences for sound. What do I do to get them back, they worked fine till the update.

This could be something as simple as the plug not being fully pushed in. I have had my speakers/earphones non functional after working behind my iMac. The speaker plug in each case had been jostled loose. This happens too easily for my liking, but now I know that if my sound is out or routed to the iMac speaker, the first thing I do is reach behind and push the speaker plug in more firmly.
I hope this is all it is...

  • Connect external amplified speakers

    Hi,
My daughter asks if it is possible to connect external amplified speakers to her Sat Pro P 200, and if so, how please ?
eg perhaps an old set of Altec Lansing ATP5's.
    Thanks.

You can connect the speakers via the headphone socket and still use the radio.
You cannot switch between radio and music via the remote, only via the menu on the iPod.

  • System preferences -Sound does not see external USB speakers

The computer internal speakers are working OK but the problems come when I try to use external USB speakers. The previous volume problem of the imnternal speakers resolved itself.
I have now purchased a new USB set of speakers (BOSE Companion 20) but now they will only work through the "headphone" slot at the rear of my Imac and then only thru one speaker.(right)
I have reset the PRAM - anyway I followed all the instructions and it was not solved.
In "Sounds" in system preferences the Imac cannot see the USB speakers - it only recognises the internal speakers for output.
I think until "sounds" recognises the USB Speakers I will not get both speakers working.
I insert the USB speaker wiring pin in the Headphones slot at the back of the Imac and as mentioned sound only comes thru the right USB speaker  -nothing works when I put the pin in the speakers slot alongside the Headphones slot.
    Any help apprecaited

  • How do i play music from my ipod shuffle gen 4 on external powered speakers

Can I play music from my IPOD shuffle gen 4 using external powered speakers?  If so, how do I hook it up?

First a curiosity question. Why do you want to play through the computer? Why not use headphones?
Ok, now to your question. I have never done this before, but this intrigued me. I did some experimenting and got it to work. Here is what I did:
    1) Connect Touch to computer.
    2) Open iTunes.
    3) Your device will show up in the left panel.
    4) Click the little triangle next to your device to expand it.
    5) You now have access to the different content on the Touch.
I have played stuff from Music, Movies and my playlists. Everything works the same way as if it was on your PC.
Hope that helps and good luck!

  • HP HD 2300 Webcam Installation Issues

    I have a HP HD 2300 Webcam.
Windows 8.1 (64 bit) fresh installation.
    eset antivirus/firewall
In Device manager, I have a yellow triangle on the device name, right click>properties I have the following error
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
As mentioned, this is a fresh installation, all that has been installed is the antivirus, skype, motherboard utilities. ms office.
I have installed the windows 7 64bit drivers as there appears to be no win 8.1 drivers available from the hp site.
edit: So I have found that Code 19 errors are something to do with the registy, in particular Upper Filters and Lower Filters, I viewed Device Manager --> Properties > Details > Class Lower Filter and Class Upper Filters and found mention of a other items that effect the USB port.. I searched for these in registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ and deleted upper and lower class filters and removed the offending program (a module from Asus AI Suite 3 - AiChargerPlus (it boosts charger amps in the USB for faster device recharging))..  rebooted...
Now the device is "apparently" installed correctly BUT I am unable to get an image on anything (yawcam, skype, and HP Webcam 2300 HD control centre).
The driver being used is usbvideo.sys.. I have deleted it a few times but windows keeps reusing it and (as mentioned earlier) HP dont seem to have a dedicated driver.

I do not find any info for the camera being supported on a Mac.....have you tried plugging it in and seeing if FaceTime works with only Apple's drivers?
.....there is this software....I do not use it and do not know anything about it.....

  • IMac - External USB Speakers

Why does new iMac not recognize external usb speakers when connected to the back of the unit.  It only recognizes them when connected to a usb hub or the additional usb ports on the wired keyboard?  I'm receiving distortion from dac which I suspect is due to low signal strength.

there is no such thing as usb speakers
all usb speakers being that usb don¨'t carry audio at all
are usb audio cards usb audio cards require drivers if the usb audio card model you own does not have
drivers included in Mavericks you need to install the drivers from the usb audio card makers site if they does not
support Mavericks with their drivers your speakers will not work

  • Crackling and pulsating noise in external USB speakers

How to eliminate crackling and pulsating noise in external USB speakers?

i need to access the Roland's knobs while sitting at the Mac (am using them as monitors in recording etc), so there really isn't a good place to get them further away. By interface, do you mean the PreMobile? that's an interesting idea. I've now tried that (via the line out, the rolands have a single 3.5mm cable, no RCAs); it got rid of the static noise, but the still a loud hum, and the PreMobile apparently doesn't monitor ordinary system sound output (like iTunes). But this experiment does point to the iMac itself being the source of the static noise.
The only AC-powered periphs in the loop are a couple hard drives and a printer (and a USB-powered Wacom tablet; the PreMobile is USB-powered as well).
I've got the speakers plugged into same grounded strip as the mac and the peripherals, trying to minimize ground loop, but it doesn't help.
Someone suggested a ground loop isolator gadget... anyone had success with those?

  • External UCube speakers don't work after awakening from sleep mode since 10.7.5 upgrade

Ever since I upgraded to 10.7.5 when I wake my computer from sleep mode...my external UCube speakers don't work unless I unplug them and plug them back in. I've already tried resetting the SMC. It recognizes and shows the speakers in the sound preferences...but no sound unless I reconnect the usb cable. Worked fine in 10.7.4
Any ideas? Its ridiculous all the audio problems being reported.

I have a mac mini (A1283) with OS 10.7.4. Upon upgrading to 10.7.5 it did not start up again. Instead, the light was on and the hard drive did not start up. The light on the connected USB mouse was not lit.
    My solution:
    Cold start with Command-v pressed.
This should start Verbose mode (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492 ).
What happened on my mac mini was that the grey startup screen with the Apple logo appeared for a long while before the login screen came.
Maybe Cmd-v set open firmware params and fixed some corruption.
Anyway: my mac mini works again.

  • Static noises in external/internal speakers

Why does my external/internal speakers make a static noise when I plug my AC cord into the computer, but when i unplug the AC adaptor power source, the noise goes away but I am draining my battery?

  • External powered speakers pop on wake from sleep

I just got new iMac 21.5, the most recent one that came out in May 2011. It is replacing my old iMac, the 21.5 that came out late 2009. When the new iMac wakes from sleep, the external speakers that I have connected (Harmon/Kardon Soundsticks) may a loud pop. This did not happen with my old iMac. The speakers are connected in the earphones out port. There is no difference in the setup between the two iMacs, and I have not changed the setup with the speakers. Everything is plugged in just the way it was.
I don't think the exact make of the speakers is important; what's important is that they're external powered speakers. Answers or discussion of any of these questions would be helpful:
Anyone with a new iMac having this problem?
Anyone with a new iMac not having this problem?
Has anyone with any kind of Mac had this problem and had it fixed?
The tech at the Apple Store said he was happy to swap out the logic board, but felt that the pop may still be there afterwards. He thought that this pop through external powered speakers when waking from sleep may or may not be normal in some cases. He said it's possible that Apple may have changed the audio circuitry from the time my old iMac was built. (The new logic board is currently on order.)
    Thank you,
    Mario

I found the following article from Apple: TA20612. It reads as follows:
"The popping sound does not indicate any software issue or hardware failure. This is a normal part of hardware-software initialization after waking from sleep or during startup."
I'm a bit skeptical. I think I would have noticed this on the old iMac. Since I haven't yet sold it, I'm going to try to arrange for some side-by-side testing. I'll update this thread when I have the results.

  • External webcam on external monitor connected to mac

    Hi,
Would it be possible to have my external monitor connected with optical webcam connected into my mac than when you use skype and those applications/progams it would have two pictures of you on screen?
(one mac connected to external monitor wants to put optical webcam through to mac to have two pictures) if that makes it simple.
    Thanks,

  • Browser Stops how to kill external process

    Hi All,
I am using Runtime 's exec method to run some binary on server from my JSP page .
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process pr = rt.exec(XYZ);
I am running the server (TOMCAT) on bsd machine ,
    Problem ,
When the JSP is requested from the browser and user clicks on stop button / closes the browser window .
The external process does not terminated .
it is shown as paused process in TOP .
Is there any way to handle this situation to stop the process .
    Regards
    Yogesh

you have to write a class which implements HttpSessionActivationListener and in the sessionWillPasivate() method do the processing to KILL the process that is running in the background.
you have to take care in identifying the process from the session object passed to the listener.
Note that this method will be called when session is about to be invalidated either by time out or forcefull invalidation.
The listener class is than supposed to be registered by putting the following in web.xml
    <listener>
<listener-class>fully qualified name of your Listener</listener-class>
    </listener>
