    Itune 11 on Windows 7 x64 and iPad 2.
On 3 different PC and 3 different iPad 2 when I installed iTunes 11.1 Windows Autoplay recognise the iPad but iTunes do not.
The device does not appear in iTunes and thus neither synchronisation nor backup are possible.
Reverting to the previous version of iTunes solved the issue.
However with IOS 7 iTunes 11.1 is required and I am back with the same issue. Could you please help?
    Thanks and best regards

If you try syncing with iTunes again, perhaps the phantom album will be erased since it does not exist on the computer.
Have you tried restarting or maybe resetting the iPad to see if the album will disappear?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I was running Lightroom 3.6 with the OS Windows XP (Sp3). The whole system crashed, I am unable to recover the serial number. I then upgraded my OS to Windows 7 (x64) and down loaded Lightroom 4.4, I wanted to buy a licence so I then upgraded to Lightroom 5, now when I try to register I am asked for the original licence/serial number. Where do I go from here??????

If you upgraded from 3.6 to 5 (you didn't indicate buying 4.4) then you will need the serial number from 3.6 in order to be able to use 5.  If you did not keep a record of it there is a chance it might be available thru your Adobe account online, but if not, there is likely not much you can do except to return the upgrade and purchase a full version.  Try contacting support using chat and explain your situation to see if they can help.

If you did purchase 4.4 then that should be sufficient to use to activate 5.
I can never be sure what goes on with Lightroom, and the Adobe site (even when it works properly) makes finding information about products difficult these days so I am at a loss to confirm anything I say.

  • Windows 7 x64 and PDF thumbnails problems

I have CS5 and Acrobat 9 and under Vista x32 I could see the pdf thumbnails nicely.  Yesterday I installed Windows 7 x64 and now all I can see are the Adobe icons.  I read some other threads that describe opening up the files through acrobat and then changing to either large icon or extra large icon to fix the problem.  This works, but when I go back through windows explorer everyhting is back to just icons.  I have made sure that explorer is set to always view thumbnails and I don't have this problem with anyother file types such as Word documents or image files.  I have also tried rebuilding the installation as anthoer poster had suggested.  Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?

Thanks for the link to the fix (by Pretentious Name . com).
I note that over a year has passed since you posted this solution, and Adobe has still not corrected the problem.
Problems, errors, and omissions in software are normal and acceptable - what is not acceptable is that Adobe choses to not take action to correct certain problems, especially when the user community identifies both the cause and the solution to the problem.
The folks at Adobe shoud take a close look at this web page: http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/ - it contains a complete and well-documented description of both the cause of the problem and the solution to the problem.

  • Driver for Deskjet 1220c (Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008 R2)

    Hi,
I've got a Deskjet 1220c and have recently upgraded two machines; one to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and the other to Windows Server 2008 R2.  Any idea where I can get printer drivers?
I'd like to try the Vista x64 drivers, though these were included on the Vista CD from MS, and not available as a separate download from HP (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00868762).
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
    Thanks,

    Hi
I had this trobule too.  Below is the instructions to install driver.  Disconnect your printer. In printers select add printer.  Then click windows update (need internet) allow them to update and then select 1220c printer to install leaving as standard old port.  Once installed go into printer properites and update to USB port.
    Bingo it works!
Refer to the below link for full instructions.

  • Bootcamp WIndows 7 x64 and Syncmaster 204b external monitor

    Hi,
I didn't see a sub-forum for external monitors so I hope the Firmware forum is ok since this seems like a drivers/graphics card issue issue.
The issue I'm having is that Mac OS crashes randomly when I connect my external Samsung Syncmaster 204b monitor to my Macbook Pro when running Windows 7 x64 under Bootcamp. The external monitor turns yellow and the Macbook LCD turns gray and I'm forced to do a hard-reboot. Windows does detect the monitor and I can see it with it's correct name under Windows Display Properties.
Everything works fine when I run the monitor under Mac OS 10.6.4.
I'm running Windows 7 x64 on a mid-2010 Macbook Pro 13". I have all of the latest updates installed for Windows and am using Bootcamp 3.1.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any ideas how this may be resolved?
    Thanks, -Scott

Ok, I think this problem has been resolved, so I'll post the solution in case others with the Samsung Syncmaster 204B have the same problem. The answer was erasing the PRAM by holding Option-Command-P-R at boot up (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379).
This is what I think happened:
An update in Windows Update is available for the Syncmaster 204B, but wasn't visible when I first connected the Syncmaster. I wasn't able to see the update until I rebooted with the Syncmaster connected (after several crashes). After seeing the update in Windows Update under 'Optional Updates", called "Samsung - Display- 204T/204Ts/204B, Syncmaster Magic CX20Ts(digital)", I installed it, but bootcamp Windows continued to crash randomly after attaching the Syncmaster via both Mini Display Port-to-DVI and Mini Display Port-to-VGA. Sometimes it crashed after a few minutes, sometimes an hour, the same as before I installed the update.
I was convinced that it was a compatibility problem between Windows 7 x64, the Syncmaster 204B and the MacBook Pro 13" Mid-2010 hardware since this problem only happened when booting into bootcamp Windows 7 x64 (everything worked fine in Mac OS), but now that doesn't seem to be the case. I think the update fixed the problem, but after installing the update some of the of the original incompatible display settings remained resident in the Mac's PRAM. Erasing the PRAM cleared these settings and allowed the new updated settings to be loaded instead, fixing the crash issue.

  • Windows 7 x64 and x32 Netlogon 5719 errors

Ok, let me first start off by saying that this only happens on Windows 7 (x64 or x86).  I do not have this problem with XP (x64 or x86).
I have several subnets for which I use the HP Procurve IP HELPER-ADDRESS.  This also happens if the DHCP server is a physical or virtual machine.  I was reading about the port fast option for RSTP (HP), though I can see if I need to use that if
it happens with XP and Windows 7.  I tried the following:
    Disabled IPv6
Tried a physical and virtual machine
Ran hotfix 2459530 for both x64 and x32
Tried the Broadcast registry fix instead of using unicast
Tried updating NIC drivers for both Intel and Broadcom
Changed the gateway for the DHCP options
Have GPO for "always wait for network before logon"
Have GPO for "Startup policy wait time (120 seconds)"
I still run into the issue that some Windows 7 machines will get the Netlogon 5719 errors on startup.  I don't know where to go to next about this issue??  I'm hoping SP2 will help with this issue.

Is this the only error message or do you have other connectivity
errors, too - like no valid IP-address from dhcp-server, or no dns-name
    resolution working?
If this is the only error you get and you are able to logon correctly
and access the domain controller it is only cosmetic and means, that
netlogon was already trying to access the resource before it was
available - but it did sucessfully connect later, when the resouce was
available. If you have other errors as well - please tell us those, too
    - to make troubleshooting easier.

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 windows 7 wifi and bluetooth disabled

    Hi,
    I successfully downgraded Sleekbook 14 into Windows 7 64 a while ago.
    Everything worked fine.
Now, after reinstalation of Windows 7 clear,
I cannot turn on Wifi and Bluetooth, and even cannot install drivers.
I tried several differnet wifi drivers.
I tried to use drivers which I used previously. No success.
    I have Ralink module inside.
Drivers did not installed. In hardware list of Windows I do not see network card.
F12 LED still flash in orange. Fn+F12 nothing changes.
I cannot force it to blue light.
When I use Window Add Hardware... I see blank window. None hardware detect, and even I cannot select new harware manually. Is it normal?
Could it be module smashed? Does it happen? How to verify finally?
I do not see any network card or option in BIOS. Should I?

    victor,
You said 'if the download deosn't work'. Does that mean it didn't work for you?
What happens when you try to download the updater? You were trying to download the Windows version and not the Mac one?
You can't buy the cd anywhere, they just come supplied with iPods, and will more than likely contain an out of date software version in any case.

  • I've just bought and installed PS elements 13 on Windows 7 x64 and it crashes as soon as it's started (1st run)

After what I thought was a legit copy of PS Elements 8 expired tonight after a month, I bought PS Elements 13 and installed it on a Windows 7 Pro x64 machine.
It installed properly, and on first load, it opened the welcome screen, then both Organise and Edit options cause an immediate crash, and everytime since.
    Multiple restarts with no difference.
    Elements 8 removed, no difference.
Elements 13 removed and reinstalled with no difference.
How can I find out what's wrong and get this fixed ASAP?
That, or somehow purchase a PS Elements 8 licence??

You may have a configuration problem in your network (IP conflict). Are you using DHCP?
There is also the possibility of some problem with the HP App.
You should try posting this problem on the HP printer forums. Try here: ePrint, Print Apps, Mobile Printing, and ePrintCenter

  • ThinkVantage System Update 4, Windows 7 x64, and LAN repository are failing with T410 laptops

I've been using TVSU/TVUR for a few years and they're excellent tools.  Life would be much harder without them.
Recently I acquired some ThinkPad T410's with Windows 7.  As usual, I applied an existing Windows 7 image (from a T400), and ran TVSU.  Group Policy settings populate the TVSU reg keys with the UNC path to the update repository on my LAN.  So far so good.
Now things get weird.  TVSU asks for a username and password when first connecting to the repository at \\servername\sharename\path.  That shouldn't be necessary - I can browse that path as the logged-in domain user.
No matter what I put in the username/password prompt, whether I hit OK or cancel, TVSU proceeds to scan the directories in \\srvername\sharename\path for relevant updates.
Once it finds 15 updates, I select them.  Clicking on the "details" option for any updates brings up an empty window, no text.  If I try to download updates, it starts chugging along and quickly finishes, reporting "15 packages did not download".
I don't have this problem with other Win 7 x64 T400's, or other laptops running other OS's.  I don't think the repository is corrupt, since other systems can download and install updates.
Where do I go from here?

  • Clean Install of Windows 7 x64 and install of iTunes 10.5.2.11

I am having a problem with iTunes in that any time I click on a folder anywhere on my PC labeled iTunes it will launch iTunes. I also can not close iTunes if I have any folder named iTunes opened because iTunes will keep re-launching itself.
This can be reproduced even by creating a new folder on my desktop with nothing in it and labeling it iTunes. Once the folder is created I can click to open it and itunes will launch.
I have tried disabling iTiunes helper in my processes but it will still launch itunes.
I have also completely uninstalled iTunes and all Apple software including bonjur and deleted all remaining folders as well under both app data and my music.
Reinstalling the software yielded the same problem.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with Process Control. Google showed it to be a Win2K server utility.
Is it part of the SysInternal tools, now named Process Monitor?
If this is a new setup with not much else on the PC, you're right - it might be faster to just reinstall W7. But, it was a clean install before and this happened -- so it might do the same thing. Yikes.
Had a look at task manager > process tab again.  In the Command Line column there are only a few programs that have this -Embedding switch. Flash, Windows Live email & WMP. Not sure where they are getting it from, as a registry search on "embedding" yielded nothing.
This vaguely reminds me of an old problem where itunes would take over all the PC icons
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2397675?start=0&tstart=0
but not exactly, itunes is starting in your case and not taking over all your desktop icons. The fix for that I think, was to restore file associations as described here
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restor e.html
It working OK in safe mode is probably a huge clue, but nothing comes to mind as to why.
Did you try installing from a different windows admin user account? Did that do anything different?
Well, if you reinstall windows, remember to deauthorize itunes before you do it.

  • The Firefox *.htm/*.html icon is missing in Windows 7 x64 and no fixes I've seen have helped, what should I do?

Hi, I am having similar problem to other people that I have found on this forum in that on my computer, when Firefox is first installed from fresh, Windows 7 displays the correct icon for htm/html files, but when I restart, these icons are replaced with the generic "I don't know" icons. So far I have tried to fixes this issue with the following methods to fox this issue, none of which have worked:
    - rebuilding the icon cache by deleting iconcache.db
    - setting defaults programs from Firefox to IE then back to Firefox
    - adding the registry keys Old Icon -> FirefoxHTML -> DefaultIcon from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{42042206-2D85-11D3-8CFF-005004838597} to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42042206-2D85-11D3-8CFF-005004838597}
    - changing the Windows Zoom settings from 100% to 150% and back
    - Using the programs Types, to delete and recreate the htm associations.
Also, I know that I have been able to fix this issue before when I have had to reinstall Windows before, but I cannot remember how exactly, aprt from that I did involve editing the registry, but possible not in the way I found on the forum.

    Steve1951 at
'''http://windowssecrets.com/forums/showthread.php/135115-Icons-for-Firefox-missing-in-Windows-Explorer.''' Found the solution which worked for me. See his quote below:
Here is what I did to fix the problem:
    1. I deleted registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML\ShellEx\IconHandler (I completely deleted the key, not just set it to no value).
    2. I set registry key to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\FirefoxHTML\Def aultIcon to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe,1
    3. I changed the file association from Firefox to Internet Explorer and then from Internet Explorer back to Firefox [ I logged off and on again so that the registry changes would take effect].
    Now all is functioning properly.
Thanks Steve1951 this totally fixed my problem

  • Windows 7 x64 and X-Fi Titanium oddness

'? I have a really odd problem with Win 7 x64. I have an X-Fi Titanium and installing the latest (from July of last year!?) drivers a) renders the front panel useless immediately and b) eventually causes the card to stop working. Really strange. The problem is, only the newest drivers work properly as I use sli. 2_7_0006 work perfectly, except for the static I get in some games when running with sli enabled.
I was previously running an XP/Vista x64 dual boot and the same driver (0007) worked fine with those setu
    ps.
It's really odd how the driver doesn't stop working as soon as I install it - sometimes it takes a couple of hour, sometimes a day or two. I also sometimes get BSODs with the newest drivers installed - something that never happensthe 0006. I've tried fi've or six times and the result is always the same. Anyone have any ideas and/or run into the same thing? I've looked all over, but have never seen the same complaint.

    Hi KEV-273,
This seems to be a generic installation error. Please install a random application to see if you are getting the same error message.
