Health App & My Fitness Pal

Has anyone had any success in syncing these two apps?  If so can you please share how you did.  I track my food daily and cannot seem to get the nutrition to appear in health app.  I also see that they steps and walking distances are not accurate.  Thank you for your time and appreciate any feedback.

MMine were syncing and now they have disappeared. I am running Withings and MyFitnessPal on iPhone 6plus

  • How can I get apple health to sync with my fitness pal

I log my food in with My Fitness Pal but Health will not recognize it. How do I sync the two?

I've got the same question but I'm using Outlook 2007... must be a solution after I've just spent a ridiculous amount of time inputting friends Birthdays into Contacts!!

  • Installed 8.1.3. The Fitness Pal app won't stay opened. I click on the icon, it opens then closes without allowing me to enter my input.

installed update 8.1.3 to my iPad and iPhone. As usual, I'm trying to access Fitness Pal app to enter data On to the iPad. The. App opens briefly then closes immediately before I can enter the data.

Try to force close the app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
If that doesn't work. Delete it and reset your device.
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. No data will be lost.
Then go back to the app store and your purchased items and redownload and reinstall the app.
If it still doesn't work, check out the reviews for the app. Sometimes an update can break an app. And, unfortunately, the burden is on the app developer to keep their app working with Apple. If you look at the reviews - change the sort from most helpful to most recent- you can get an idea if others are having issues. If they are and if the update has broken the app, then  you have to wait for My Fitness Pal to fix their app.

  • My S health app is doesn't work with my gear fit

I got a Gear Fit for Christmas.  It works through the S Health app.  My S Health app does not work on my phone.  All it does is has a pop up "unfortunately stopped", therefore making my Gear Fit useless.  I have tried the advice of many other users whose S Health app didn't work at all, much less with Gear Fit to fix. I've uninstalled, then reinstalled, powered off the phone, nothing works.  I'm running a marathon and I cant use anything but a 3rd party to chart my history...very frustrated, please help!!

Give Samsung tech service a call on this one, I had a minor problem also and they worked with me over the phone to correct it.

  • Do I have to use another fitness app in order for the new health app to track my fitness? Or does the health app have its own gps tracking? It's not working for me.

I have the iphone 6 ios 8.0.2. The health app hasn't worked for me yet. I have pinned things to my dashboard but it isn't updating anything. I curious to know if I need a third party app in order for it to track? Or if it is supposed to be tracking?

The iPhone 6 has a built in M8 coprocessor that tracks steps. Start with the manual:

  • I phone health app!

I'm using iphone 5s, my health app dashboard is not good working. specially fiber, sleep analysis and some others option is really not working. Only steps and walking option is working. I don't know how can i set the more option. Help me please, thanks...

"Health app" There are have many more option i mean Running Distance, Sleep Analysis, Fiber, Steps, Weight like that. and there only Steps and Running Distance option is correctly working. So now i want to know how can i work done more option?
That's because distance and steps are the only thing the iPhone can measure on its own. It has to get the other data from somewhere. That somewhere is generally other apps. I have a Withings scale. It connects to the Withings app by WiFi and that app sends my weight data to Health. I use My Fitness Pal to track food intake. That data gets sent to the Health app. My Fitness Pal can also use the weight data from Health that I sent there from my Withings app.
Search the App Store for apps that work with Health.

  • Share nikefuel band data in health app

share nikefuel band data in health app

    Hello there rcque,
You may be able to share the health data gathered by the Nike Fuel band and app with the built in Health app on your phone by looking at the sources tab in Health, and the settings for your device within its app:
Use Health on your iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 8 - Apple Support
    Sources
Here you'll find any third-party apps and devices that can send data to Health. You can control which apps have access to your health data.
You can also see which apps have access to your health data by going to Settings > Privacy > Health.
And this from the iOS 8 User Guide:
Collect health and fitness data - iPhone
Collect data from a device. Follow the instructions that can come with the device to set it up. If it’s a Bluetooth device, you need to pair it with iPhone—see Bluetooth devices.
Collect data from an app. Follow the instructions that can come with the app to set it up, then watch for a sharing request where you control whether data is shared with the Health app.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Step recording in health app

How can automatic recording in the Health App be switched off. Airplane mode does not switch it off. There seems no option in privacy Setting. Removing the Data from Dashboard does not work either.
The reason I want to switch it off is conservation of battery power. I use the iPhone GPS for long backcountry hiking trips. In the past I switched to airplane mode. That gave me enough power to use my GPS for 10 days on a single charge. I found this preserves battery power better than switching the phone off and on: Typically I would use the GPS to verify my position perhaps twice s day or every 10 miles.

    Hi Jzuend,
I see you have questions about turning off reporting in the Health app. Here is an article for you that should be able to explain this:
Collect health and fitness data - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iphbb8259c61
Stop app data collection. Tap Sources at the bottom of the Health screen, then select the app in the Apps list. Or tap the associated parameter in your Dashboard or in the Health Data list, tap Share Data, then choose the app under Data Sources.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Braden

  • Health app double counting steps?

I have a Withings Pulse activity tracker and it is now synced with my phone and the Withings app to help track my steps throughout the day.  I've noticed that the Health app itself tracks my steps in intervals throughout the day and it seems the Withings app only syncs steps at midnight each night.  I'm wondering if I'm ultimately getting double-credit for steps every day or if Health somehow is able to cancel out its steps once it sees that steps sync in from another app.  I wish there was a way to turn off the internal step counter in iOS8 but I haven't found one yet.  Curious if anyone here has been experiencing this with other fitness bands/activity trackers?
    David

I am having the same issue as well. I don't have any activity tracker but I keep my phone on me at all times and use it as a tracker. It seems that withings app keeps track of the steps and so does the phone on its own.. If you allow withings app to to sync with health app to me it seems health app uses info from whatever iphone tracks than adds data from withings on top of it.. For examples woke up today and after hour or two withings app said I did about 330 steps. Which would make sense. However in the health app it's showing 670..... why allow other apps to use steps feature if you can't disable iPhone steps tracking, since it will only double up steps?. God forbid I give another app access to step counting. It will seem like I ran a marathon yet I nearly got off the sofa.

  • Health App: Basic Step Counting?

Do I need any external hardware to have my steps or runs measured in the health app? I can't seem to set anything up...

I have iPhone 5s iOS 8.0.2 and the steps are being counted for me. I have no other hardware for step counting.
Open health app and check health data tab -> fitness -> steps or walking + running distance
Though, if you are dissatisfied, you might search for something additional in app store.

  • Health app inaccurate in recording Calorie and Carbohydrate tracking

The Health App on my iPhone 5s, iOS 8.0.2, does not record data accurately.
It doesn't matter if my input is manual or via another tracking app.
    Carbohydrates are way off.

    Settings>Privacy>Motion & Fitness>Fitness Tracking>Off

  • Anyone have any bugs or fixes in health app?

My previous weeks data has now gone from my dashboard. It will let me add an item to the dashboard but as soon as I go to the dashboard to view it, it says dashboard is empty.  This only seems to have happened since I linked MY FITNESS PAL app in the source data tab

Nooo or you would use OS X Recovery Mode: Disk Utilty and then Startup Disk.

  • IOS health app stopped synching

Has anyone else had their IOS 8.2 Health app stop synching with the Wahoo Fitness app? My data has stopped synching on the 12 March (after an IOS update?). I have all the historic and manually entered Fitness data present in the Health app upto and including the 12 March, then nothing is synched. When I try a manual synch from the Fitness app on data after the 12th March, I get the "com.apple.healthd.sqlite error 1" message.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've even tried:
    1. Turn off all syncing by theirs-party sources.
    2. Delete all third-party apps that might sync data so that the Health App "Sources" list is empty
    3. Reset all settings on the phone.
    4. Reload third-party apps one by one
    5. Selectively turn on syncing by third-party apps and only sync categories I really want to see.
All to no avail. The Health App crashes constantly and when trying to input data into third-party apps, those apps will crash also.
I'm currently trying to sync data with:
    UP by Jawbone (UP24)
    Withings HealthMate (Withings WiFi scale)
    MyFitnessPal
    Runtastic
    Nike+

  • How to you stop the health app running in the background?

How to you stop the new Health App from running in the background? Its its always running collecting data on how many steps I have taken and how far I have walked.. I walked 12000 steps and travelled 4.1km DRIVING my kids to school this morning according to the app.

I never intend to use the health app because I do not need an app on my phone to help me live a healthy lifestyle.  Therefore I find it intrusive there is no way to stop it from tracking my steps or whatever else it may be doing.  I found a way to force the app to crash and maybe this will stop it from running in the background.  Open the app, tap "Health Data" at the bottom of the screen, tap "Fitness" then "Steps" and tap "Add Data" type in a huge number - a very huge number with 30 or more characters, you can even add more than 1 decimal point.  Repeat this for "walking + Running Distance".  From this point forward the app will crash when you try to look at the data.  Maye this prevents it from recording new data, I'm not sure but I really like the fact the app crashes.  Hopefully Apple will add a feature to allow us to turn off data collection altogether or even better, allow us to delete this app.

  • How do i track how many steps I walk on the health app?

How do I track how steps walked in a day on my iphone in the Health app?

Open Health app, tap Health Data at bottom, tap Fitness, tap Steps.
Turn on "Show on Dashboard" for more convenient access (and then just tap Dashboard at the bottom)
