Heating back panel lumia 520

Hello ...i want to know about my new 15 days old Lumia 520 ..lumia 520 back full panel is heating when I used it for 6-10 minute...anything I used make it that I feel it is damaged or not?
please suggest me what to do or is thus problem is similar to all Lumia 520 owners?

Define 'heating'
If you mean it gets warm then yes, this is normal. If you mean too hol to hold then contact a Nokia Care Point or repair centre

May I know if the lumia 520 (Back, Windows logo and the search buttons-on the front of the device) - does it have the white lights on lighted up when in dark places or it does not have any lights at all?
I have tried reset the phone, change the brightness to auto and restart many times still no lights on those buttons.
Please advise if there are other lumia 520 user out there and if there is any solutions or it does not have any lights at all.
If there is any solutions for it, please do let me know. First time user for windows phone.

Those buttons are not backlit on the 520.

Settings function does not work in my lumia 520

I have lumia 520. when i update Lumia Black in my Setting some of the settings apps does not work. when i click this its return back the settings. i can't update it . how can i update or reinstall it.
Or How can i re-update window for work properly my system.
Please Help me .....

I had the same problem with a feature. It showed share instead of update and I knew there was an update out there.
I turned my phone all the way off, let it sit for a minute of so and turned it back on. The update then showed up with the updater.

Problem with internet in Lumia 520

I bought my Lumia 520 few days back. I use wifi connection of BSNL BB. It was working fine these days. But now what ever the address i type in IE it opens the webpage "Georgia Pacific" and none other apps installed could use the internet. please help me to solve this issue. I have attached the screenshot.

Thank you for the information you have provided. You may also try checking if all the system apps are updated. Store>...>settings>check for updates. Try rebooting it by pressing and holding the power and the volume down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

Nokia Lumia 520 "Find my Phone"

I cannot get the find my Phone functionality working consistently on my Nokia Lumia 520.
I have a data and Wifi connection.
I am not in airplane mode.
I have SMS functionality.
Location Services are On.
Services/Find my Phone is Off. When I slide the option to On, it remains off when I go back into settings!
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Nokia lumia 520 push notification problem with wha...

I have a Lumia 520, and i find that i do not receive push notifications for my whatsapp messages. I have to open the application before the messages come through. I would like to know how to correct this. I have checked all my settings.

On a HTC-forum I saw the next solution, and it works also for Nokia Lumia! That means it is a Microsoft Issue!
1) Unpin Windows store from start
2) ERASE Internet Explorer History
3) ADD new language to the keyboard (Settings-->keyboard-->add keyboards
(CHOOSE A LANGUAGE THAT REQUIRE DOWNLOAD)
4) When downloading is finished, it will ask to restart and install
5) After installation and restart do the following;
A) UNINSTALL WHATSAPP
B) REINSTALL WHATSAPP (you can get conversation history back when asked, so no problem)
After this the push function works, but there is still a delay up to 10 minutes! So when you test, be patient.
NO BETTER PRESSURE MEDIUM THAN ANTI ADVERTISING SO AFTER THIS EXPEDITION PLEASE CHANGE YOUR STATUS TEXT TO:
USING WINDOWS; THAT MEANS DELAY UP TO 10 MINUTES
When all Window Phone users display that message, Microsoft has to come with a final solution!

Lumia 520,It get's hot

Hi Nokia,I own a Nokia Lumia 520 and now in summer I have problem with my device.When I'm charging It and play games at the same time or sometimes just play It get's really hot the upper spot from the camera.
I read that for safety reasons It will close the open apps or it will reboot.I'm worry about that because I'm afraid that it will burn and have to buy a new one.Also at Nokia's facebook page they said that it is normal to get hot but if it gets really hot they said that I had to check it if there is any problem or I can discusses it here.

As long as it cools down after you stop playing games or other power-intensive activities it should be OK. After all you are holding the equivalent of small computer which does not have the benefit of a cooling fan and can only dissipate heat through the handset case.

Lumia 520 standard ringtones - demo?

Hi, I have a Lumia 520. From Settings>ringtones&sounds there is a long list of the standard Nokia and Windows ringtones available. But how can I hear a demo of them? I expected that selecting one would either play a demo or give me a demo option to select, but this doesn't happen. Am I overlooking something, or does this function not exist (why not?) - or is my phone faulty ?

Hi, I have tried taking the headphone out of the socket, taken out battery a number of times, and even the sim card but still nothing. I'm wary of resetting the phone because last December I had a software update and lost all my contacts/games. Got contacts back a month later (just appeared). Is there anything else I can do? Spoke to person in EE shop and they just said 'could send it away'!!

Lumia 520 wifi reception

Hey guys,I have become a great hater of Lumia 520...i only wish I didn't buy it.its said I can only update my phone os through WiFi connection...but every time I connect the farthest it downloads is 13%..then either restarts the whole process again.not to mention that the 13% it goes takes an hour.ill say pole deserve options,if I can afford to update through mobile data I should be able to do so,and if Nokia did so much care they could also have made it possible to download via PC and use USB cable to update.i hate it when I buy stuff with my little cash then someone makes decision on how to do what I want to do.lastly..nokia back then in the good days was the fone everyone used.u ddnt need to mention the brand only the make like say...3310,1100,etc.what happened,that young green smaller companies are making user friendly phones that fly off the shelf?like say,huawei,bird,etc...ill tell you,Nokia chose to use windows os while other bright brands go android,I wish's there was a way to change to android.i am greatly dissapointed and I'm having a hard time not to smash it on the wall.can someone from Nokia reply to me or I go on rampage on my blogs discrediting this piece of wood.i may not achieve much but I'll make sure whoever sees this dsnt fall where I fell .********@live.com.

I have Lumia 520 and have used it for a period going to two years and It has worked greatly that I feel in love with my phone. I downloaded world at arms game from the app store, it also worked fine until one morning I opened the game and it started updating. since then the game shuts in between that I hated playing the game I loved so much. Please how do I fix this problem.

Nokia lumia 520 screen zooms in too much

I purchased Lumia 520 about a week ago but after two three days the problem started. The lock screen zooms in so much that it is impossible to attend any incoming call also it is impossible to see the incoming number's digits because they are so much zoomed in that they just don't fit on to the screen. Everytime this problem occurs,I simply restart the phone and it gets fixed up but I can't do this everytime ad this is very inconvenient to. Please help me to get rid of this piece of junk.

There is a very simple solution to this problem and explains why my phone screen is always enlarging. Instead of restarting the phone, which I hated doing all the time, simply double tap the phone using 2 fingers in the middle of the screen. I guarantee this will work and will return your screen back to it's normal size. I hope this helps!

No WhatsApp in Nokia Lumia 520

Why there is no WhatsApp in Nokia Lumia 520 ! Not in Windows Store for Nokia Lumia 520. Seven days back it was there.

Lumia 520 Cannot dial from Phone Book

I have just swapped my old Nokia 5230 for a Lumia 520, when I use it in my car the phone book downloads and is searchable, however when I try to dial from the Phone Book it just drops back to the first screen showing my phone is connected by Bluetooth no such probles with the 5230 in the same car, any advice, solutions?

Drop it from a great height and get your old 5230 back ,The 520 is a load of **bleep**,Much better phones about .

Nokia Lumia 520 data cable removing

I bought Lumia 520 last week. Haven't installed windows 8 software with my windows 7 laptop yet. but i did connect using the data cable to transfer some music. After i was done transferring data i found no safely remove hardware option. So i had to just remove it. But is it ok to just remove the cable from the laptop. I havn't connected the phone to laptop ever since then. How can i get the safely remove hardware option? Also it was shown under portable devices as Windows Phone.

Yes, that is standard behaviour of Windows 7. Somewhere, you can switch to the old mode which is faster but more insecure, and therefore gives you this icon back. I do not know, where that option was. Do you really need that? Then I search for you.

Stiff Battery cover for Lumia 520

Today I configured my first Lumia 520 and it was an 'interesting' experience.
I have 2 complaints:
1. Whilst the battery cover adds a nice feel to the phone, it is stiff and very difficult to peel off.
2. The online instructions provided for peeling off the battery cover frightens me, that I will bend the motherboard, hence break the phone.
This was an issue associated with wearing mobiles around ones waist causing many repairs. Motorola models seemed the worst affilicted.
I'm filled with trepidation.

The technique described in the online instructions lets the back cover be removed with very little force. You just have to be sure that you insert your thumbnail between the soft outer cover and the hard inner shell, and not between the hard shell and the screen.
At first glance it can seem that you are supposed to put your thumbnail into the cutout for the earpiece, but that's not right. There's a narrow, hard ridge that runs right around the edge of the screen, and you insert your thumbnail outside that ridge to peel away the soft plastic case that clips around it.
