Hello and HELP! Over the years I have saved Invoices in my Documents. I have just tried to open them and all I am getting is " cannot be opened, Invoice**** is used by another user, do you want to make a copy?" That's on all my invoices.
Can someone help please.

Did you recently reinstall the OS then copy all your files back over? Do a Get info on one of the documents and see if your current UserName is listed and has Read & Write permissions. If not select the Documents folder and check that for Read & Write permissions for your UserName. If it doesn't have R & W permissions Add it so it does.

Message being used by another user
I am running office 2008, word version is 12.3.6, and Mtn Lion 10.8.3. I am trying to edit word template documents on the network. I used to open Word, go to File, select Open... and go to the template. The template would open and I would make the necessary changes. After updating to Mtn Lion, I now get the message: (name of document.dotx" is being used by "another user". Do you want to make a copy?
I know the documents are not opened as they are letters that I exclusively use and I just need to edit them. In checking around, one solution, although haven't read if it works, is to reinstall office 2008. This seems pretty drastic to me. Only thing that seems to help is to actually restart the machine and then it works, but only for one document.
Any suggestions?

No I did not change the email that I used to create the account.... Someone made new security questions and when I went to change them I had to verify and it sent the answers to an email address... Get this though... The email address that it sent the answers too waste letters in the middle were starred out like this t*****@aol.com. That's not my email. Why did it not send the questions to my apple ID email account right? if you know how to change the email to a new one that would be awesome if you could share that info with me.

I used to have over 600 songs in my library- 50 or so puchased via i tunes and the rest painstakingly uploaded from CD's over the years. Since signing up to i cloud the only songs are the ones purchased. Have the others permanently gone?

Photostream Issue - I have had several phones over the years all backing up via iCloud/Photostream. It seems that the oldest of my photos and videos are simply gone and I cannot seem to figure out how to get access to them. Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do to get them back? I'm freaked out by the thought that I am paying for what I thought was a safe place for my photos to be stored and accessed later but now see that there are nearly 500 pictures/videos gone from my photostream folder. Photo Stream is not a respository for archiving photos. It is a cloud storage device that will store the last month or last 1000 photos taken by any device on the same Apple ID, and then will "share" those photos with all other devices that have Photo Stream turned on,and that are logged onto the same Apple ID.
iCloud backups will contain all of the photos that were on your camera roll the last time you backed up your device.
If you have photos outside of the Photo Stream parameters, and they are not all on your current camera roll, then you have no way to retrieve them unless you have imported them to the computer you sync with or have uploaded them to some other cloud service like DropBox.

Over the years I have upgraded Photoshop numerous times. When I click on Start, Programs is shows I have CS4, CS5 and CS6 installed. If all three are installed, doesn't this eat up a lot of hard drive space? If so, can I uninstall CS4 and CS5 and still have CS6 function properly? Note - I am running the Windows 64-bit versions. Over the years I have backed up my ifoto albums on discs. Now with the new ifoto I cannot see any fotos when I insert the 'old' discs, just dotted lines around where the foto should be. How can I view the fotos? They were backed up for security, but now they are so secure I can't view them! Help!
If you're running iPhoto 9.5 you'll need to follow these directions in order to view disk created by previous versions of iPhoto:
1 - Copy the library from the disk to the Desktop.
2 - Double click on the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool to launch it and select the library on the desktop to convert.
3 - Once that is done you can open it with iPhoto 9.5.

Over the years and upgrading machines, I now have over 20k of emails in the import mailboxes within several folders. How can I archive these in way so the are still available, if necessary, to search, but don't load and slow down my mail app.

Chris, The sequence number is the first column of numbers, to the left of the Name column. It always goes 1, 2,3 etc. It is not the same as the Track Number, which has its own column.
As a precaution before burning, make sure that Shuffle is tunred off, and that you right-click the playlist name and choose 'Copy to Play Order" (although technically they should not affect the burn). -

Are you saying you visited the My Account link at Adobe.com, per Curt's suggestion, and they don't have your serial number info on file, and you don't have your original media or serial number info?
If that's truly the case, get out your credit card because you're basically out of luck. It's really no one's responsibility but yours to manage your purchase information.
If your software loss was substantial, monetarily, you might call your insurance company. I have no idea whether they pay under those kinds of circumstances, but it's worth a check. But most folks have pretty high deductables on their homeowners' policies.
If you DO have your serial number, there are ways to get most older versions of Adobe Creative Suite software from Adobe's web site.

I have ITunes sharing. We have already enabled 5 computers but over the years at least 2 of them are long gone no way to "deauthorize" them. This current computer has just been reformatted as it crashed and I am trying to get all of the music back but am told I am at the 5 home sharing limit. Anyone know how to deauthorize the old computers so I can have itunes on the primary computer?

Are any of the two remaining authorisations on a computer you have access to?
If so, I'd try doing a deauthorise all from one of the accessible computers, and then reauthorise the ones you still have access to.
