Every time I try to update or buy an app from the app store it says there is an unknown error

So everytime I try to update an app or buy an app from the app store it says unknown error (4). I don't know why it does this but it's really annoying and it has been like this for a while now. Itunes works perfectly for me. It's just the app store.

Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and see if you can update or purchase an app.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

It's in recovery mode. Anything on the phone is already gone. If you didn't back it up as you should have been, then the data is permanently lost.

There is no solution other than having the device cleared by the former owner. Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.
