Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

I'm a new user of these apple forums so I don't really know how stuff works, bur here's my question
Recently, the sound on my iPad Air randomly shuts down, (os 7.1 downloaded) then it randomly pops up again. Sounds in the videos of photo gallery still works, as well as the videos on the internet (browser: chrome), and videis on Facebook too, but sounds like key board clicks, lock sounds, and games from the App Store store stop working... Please help, and I would also like to know if there are any other owners out there who face the same problem...Rev_JC:
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
There are a number of possible approaches to your issue. At first I thought it may be that your logic board was going out. The it sounded as if you needed to Reset the PMU. Finally, who talked about slapping it around and getting results, it sounds like it may be a loose display cable or something of that sort. Since you are completely new to Macs your best bet would be to go online and make an appointment at the Genius Bar in your local Apple Store. It costs nothing. They will look over your computer and give you an idea of what is wrong and what it will cost to rectify it.
Meanwhile, to help to identify your computer more closely, while the computer is booted go to Apple Menu > About this Mac. That will tell you the OS you have installed, the Processor speed and the computer you have. Please report this info back with you response.

Can't figure this out- cable connection vs wifi connection
Can't figure this out: when my 13" MBP is connected wirelessly to my Airport base station, my iPad can see it. When I connect the MBP to the base station via ethernet cable (for faster connection), the iPad can no longer see it.
Note: my airport is not connected to the internet. I'm simply wanting to setup a closed network for the iPad to connect to the MBP. There's nothing else on the network. The app on the iPad is locating the MBP by ip address so it must be a permanently assigned number.

Now if I connect my iMac to the Extreme with Ethernet the Airport is not visible and I can't connect to the internet.
iPods and iPhones can still use the wifi to get on the internet.

When I updated my Iphone my naviogon app was erased, and I can't figure which one I had purchased. Does anyone have any ideals how I can figure this out.

I'm burning dvd's that won't play on a regular dvd player. What am I doing wrong? They play fine on computers but not on dvd players. Are there some simple things to check to figure this out? (Sorry, I know this has been asked many times). Created in DVD studio pro.

Just my thoughts to add to the excellent answers above.
• BRAND of DVD used - Matters when doing Video-DVDs
Memorex, NoName etc cheap brands usually do NOT work
I only Use Verbatim (more organic dye in these)
• Type of DVD - matters
- DVD+/RW - usually results in problems
- DL-DVDs are more problematic than SL-DVDs
- DVD+R are a more modern sort - BUT PLAYS BADLY or not at all on older DVD-players
I only use DVD-R
• BURN SPEED - matters
- Best in iDVD app - IS NOT BEST at all but results in lot's of Burn Errors = Doesn't play well or at all
I set this down to x2 or x4 max.

Coldfusion unexplainable duplicate issues, cannot figure this out!
So I've been fighting this for days. I dont have the slightest idea where I can go from here. I have your standard coldfusion insert queries set up to insert new data into the database. Something along the lines of:
Select * from table where tableuniqueID = Form.UniqueID
Cfif databasecheck.recordcount EQ 0, then insert new row with form.uniqueID as the uniqueID. Well recently, its been throwing the generic Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK__OLMS_Dat__9C04DA075F0A3F61'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.table'.
I dont understand that in the slightest, the only way it inserts is if the query right above it is defined and equal to 0 recordcount.
I did some tooling around, and found someone suggesting to insert into my SQL "IF NOT EXISTS" to have SQL do the actual check to see if data exists. Well we put that in place, and just recently, ANOTHER duplicate happened, same error, cannot insert duplicate showing the new SQL structure.
This is beyond me. I have two statements checking to see if it exists and, yet, Coldfusion still tries to execute a database insert. What is going on?? Any ideas? where the field "CODE_KEY" is a the primary key in SQL Server 2008. This is similar to what you're doing except that the check for an existing value happens as part of the insert query. Just like you every once in awhile I get the "[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint" error. I'd say I get one a week.
The only hint I have is that there is an insert that succeeds. This insert happens at the same time as the one that fails. That seems that the code is executing twice at the exact same time which seems impossible. In fact it seems to me that a second query would have to happen so fast that the join shows no value (otherwise I'd get records updated = 0 rather than the error) but then the first (successful) record is created prior to the 2nd one being inserted. -

They should turn off Internet Sharing in System Preferences > Sharing if it is On
Are either of you running Internet Sharing? If so, turn it off.
They should not be letting Parallels connect using the Mac's IP if they run Parallels.
Do either of you use Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion to run windows on you Mac? If so, turn off their access to the internet in their settings or preferences.
They should not be connected to the Router via wireless (Airport card) and Wired (Ethernet) at the same time.
Are either of you connected to both Ethernet port and Airport wireless at the same time. If so, disable one of the network configurations. Either unplug the cable or turn Airport off.
They should not have two DHCP servers in a modem and router on their LAN.
How are your router and modem configured. If they are both distributing IP addresses, then you need to either set your router to bridge mode or set the modem to assign just one IP address. I don't know what hardware you have, so I can't begin to tell you how to configure either. Unless it is an Airport Base Station, most modems and routers are configured through a Web interface. Airport Utility will let you configure the Airport Base Station. -
In Yosemite this no longer works, has anyone figured this out? How to set a custom default umask for all applications?

Sign out from Find My Phone in iCloud, and sign out from your Apple ID in Settings/iTunes & App Store
Then setup as a new phone with iTunes and when your Daughter sets it up for the first time she can add or set up her own Apple ID.

Even a hired Flash Technician couldn't figure this out! (button/AS2/link issue)
I bought a template online, same as half the people on here needing help. I managed most modifications myself and even some swag. But one of the links entitled "more" is correct on the first page but then in AS2 appears to be a duplicate on the 4th page. I want the one on the 4th page to link to an imported .png file. When you click a veiw more link an animation slides the page that is linked open. There are 8 working pages in the site 5 of which seem to be the core pages. I want to add a ninth page that is actually a .png file and have the "more" link link to it and animate to it. Can anyone help me figure this out. I've put in over 230 hours on this template and am feeling like it'll never get finished!!
You should hire another Flash designer to help you figure it out... either that or go back to where you bought the template and see if they offer editing services for a fee.

Chris CA, 62,910 points. Dang...that's a lot of support. Before I start, let me say Thank You! You need to answer a lot of people's questions to achieve that.
1) You slightly misunderstood my letter through no fault of your own. It was a generic compilation of information submitted by members of this discussion turned into a letter by me for use on the Apple Feedback site. I myself did not receive an e-mail. I actually was prevented from purchasing any more iTunes gift cards at a certain point and was given a cryptic response from the iTunes store that my request could not be processed. It was only after investigation on my part that I found out the reason was the $100 max per 30 day rule. I'd try to find where in the Apple's support site I did find that information...but, well, you are just going to have to trust me. However, others in this discussion stated they received the information in an e-mail. I used that fact in my letter as it seemed to create a less "cumbersome" feedback submission.
2) "Why look for iOS apps?" That's a good very good question! I miswrote. I should have said "OS X apps." That is where iTunes is located on the Feedback Site. Good catch. As you know (62,910 points is a lot of "knowing"), when you submit feedback you must click on the item of which you are going to write. I must be so ramped up for the impending release of the new iPhone that I had iOS on the brain. My bad. :-)
3) In all the time this discussion has been alive (over a year), and in all my googling, I never read about an option to contact iTunes support and ask them to remove this limit from my account. It is too bad you didn't come to this discussion when it started in May of 2011 to offer that piece of advice! Surprisingly, that information wasn't anywhere on the Apple site where I read about the $100/30 day limit. Maybe it is there now. But, it sure wasn't there when I read it. It would have been very helpful.
4) You say "(which they can do and often have done for many people here)." I am curious, what do you mean by "here." Not "here" as in "here in THIS discussion forum." Right? I don't see anyone in this discussion aware of that information and posting it for others to read. By "here" I assume you mean the ENTIRE Apple Support Community. Unfortunately, until you arrived on the scene, none of those from that gigantic "here" came across THIS discussion to share their good fortune and knowledge about removing the $100 limit on iTunes gift card purchases per 30 days.
Well, I think that wraps it up for another day. I am off to iTunes support to get this limit removed from my account.

Thumbnails Not Showing in Browser
I have a portion of my library archived to DVD - masters are offline. I cannot view the associated thumbnail previews in the browser. They are grayed out but can be brought up in the viewer, and show the low resolution version of the image. I recall
