it's less powerful than your average computer. THink of it like a netbook but with a better processor.
It'll do fine for surfing (although if you browse a lot of flash based sites you will need to get a third party browser since safari doesn't accommodate it)
You may do OK on reading books, papers or magazines, especially if they have apps, but the ipad's screen is backlit, so it doesn't work well outdoors and you may need to fiddle with the brightness so that you don't get eye strain (it's just like doing too much reading from a computer screen)
I would say the biggest short comings are data transfer. Apple's preferred work flow is that everything is done via iTunes or the internet....well people dont' always have 100% reliable always on internet access so you can find yourself in a situation where you can't get things on/off the iPad.
By and large, it's a good device for day to day stuff, but is not a computer replacement.

Your phone is carrier locked to a carrier other than the one you are trying to use.
It was apparently hacked to unlock it prior to your attempt to update. Updating has re-locked it to the original carrier.
Contact them and find out what their policy is.

Since the firmware upgrade did not fix the problem, you can try disabling some by default enabled services that you may not need; things like:
Administration > Remote Management > SNMP and Local TFTP.
Network Setup > UPnP
Administration > Log
Network Setup > Firewall > Firewall Filter
If no Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Network Setup > IGMP
You may also check on the Internet Access Control entries to get rid of any not needed entries. Please check these out and let me know if there is any further assistance I can help you with.

Can't install any OS in Presario SR1319RS - please help

I have "inhereted" a HP Presario SR1319RS from my friend. The PC was working well until it got a virus. He gave it to me because he bought himself a new one.
I deleted everything, including the System Recovery (F10) partition. He did not have the original CDs that came with the PC anymore. Anyway, I have tried to install Ubuntu and Windows XP in separate ocassions. The PC restarts itself when the Ubunty installation process is about to start. It cycles itself all the time.
When trying to install Win XP, I am able to format the hd (SATA), create the partion where the OS will be hosted, but after going through that process and copying every file necessary from the CD to the PC and when it's about to initiate the installation process, it reboots itself. It does that everytime.
I have tested the memory modules and hd in other PCs, and they work w/o any issues. Is there a "special" way that HP used when putting this PC together.... that you know of?
I don't want to label this PC "unusable" because I knwo it can be salvaged. So, please let me know if you know of any tricks, advices or gossip that you know and could help me fix this PC.

Did you try only one memory module in the PC at a time to see if one is flaky and causing the problem?
I once had a PC that was behaving like yours. It did have a bad capacitor which I had an electronic tech friend of mine replace.
I thought that was the problem. Nope. XP would get to a point and crash.
So, I decided on a whim to just run the PC with one memory module (there were two).
I tried with one and XP crashed as usual.
But when I removed that module and replaced it with the first one I took out, XP loaded fine and that was the problem--a partially bad memory module.
I replaced it (actually I maxed out the PC to 4 GB) and it has been running fine ever since. It even has the same chipset as yours (Intel 915).

After updating to the ios5, my ipad keeps restoring when i plug it into itunes. I can't sync it or anything, and it has been restored about 20 times today and i can't get any further than that. Please help!

After updating to iOS 5 today, i was able to get my iphone working with virtually no problem. The issue i am having is that after i finished with my phone, i tryied to do the same with my ipad. Everytime it is plugged into itunes, it keeps saying it needs to restore over and over again. I have done this about 20 times today and have lost it. Multiple triggring events - How can you identify which one started the wf?

Hi all,
I would like to know if there is a way of identifying which triggering event started the wf.
The situation is like this: i have a workflow that can be started by one of 6 triggering events (6 different situations for vendor master data - creation needed, extension needed, change needed and so on). I have to do different steps inside the workflow function of which event actually triggered the wf.
Is there a container element that gets some sort of identification for the event that actually triggered the wf?
I found a container element that holds the name of the event but it's a multiline container element (so i guess it holds all the event names) and i can't use it in a multiple condition.

for those events, you can add want you want as abap dictionary
it doesn't matter, just look in SE11, where you can find any kind of data element of type char1 and use that one.
Those events, are those standard events or events that you trigger yourself with the function SWE_EVENT_CREATE?

Some questions about configuration in MAX.

I have some questions about configuration in MAX(I am a jackaroo for motion control development),I hope I can get your help.
I use PCI-7344+UMI-7764+Servo amplifier+Servo motor,my MAX version is 4.2 and I use NI-Motion7.5
My question as following:
1,In Axis Configuration,for motor type,why I must select stepper but not servo?my motor is servo motor!If I select Servo,my motor can't run,I don't know why.
If I select stepper,though motor can work but I can't test encoder in MAX.
2,In Stepper settings,for stepper loop mode,why I must select open-loop but not close-loop?If I select close-loop,the servo motor doesn't work too.
3,If I want my two servo motors run at different velocity,How shoud I do?It seems I just can set the same velocity in MAX for my two servo motors.
My English is poor,Pls pardon me!I come from China.

The manufacturer of the drive and motor that I am using now is Japan SANYO DENKI,drive type is RS1A01AA,motor type is R2AA06020FXP00.
And I use position control mode,thehe encoder's counts per revolution is 131072.I set the electronic gear ratio to 1:1 for drive.
Now,I can use Close-Loop to control the motor but still has some problems.When I configure it to run in closed loop mode, the motors behave strangely and never move to the target position.When I configure it to run in closed loop mode, the motors behave strangely and never move to the target position.The detail situation is as following
1,Motor can't run.
2, Or motor moves to a position, then moves in the same direction agian and eventually stops.
Except for the two points mentioned above,"Following Error" is occured frequently,I don't know why.
I am still not clear why I must set the motor type be stepper in MAX .
And I have another question:what the relationship between the steps and the counts?They have the proportion relations?I notice that there are a section said like this in help document: For proper closed-loop and p-command operation, steps per revolution/counts per revolution must be in the range of 1/32,767 < steps/counts < 32,767. An incorrect counts to steps ratio can result in failure to reach the target position and erroneous closed-loop stepper operation.
I am verry sorry I have too many questions!

A Port is a collection of lines. Usually 8 lines to a port.

These functions either perform an output or input, or configure your digital ports and lines. Please see the Traditional NI-DAQ Function Reference Help found under Start >> All Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQ >> Traditional NI-DAQ Function Reference Help for more information on these functions.

You can apply a gate signal from software. For example you can use the 6602's Timebase to gate your counter during pulse measurement applications. You can also route a counter's output to the gate of another counter internally. Look up Select_Signal in the Function Reference Help for more details.

I am not sure what you are asking here. ND_PULSE_TRAIN_GNR is a parameter used in the GPCTR_Set_Application function to set up a counter for pulse generation. Please see the page titled "application = ND_PULSE_TRAIN_GNR: GPCTR_Set_Application" in the Function Reference Help more more information about this parameter.

There is no function to read the state of the source pin. You will need to route the source pin to a PFI line and perform a digital read on that line.
