Help: CS3 Design Premium suddenly stopped working, won't reinstall

I have a licensed copy of Adobe CS3 Design Premium for Windows (on a machine w/Vista), and everything was working fine until this past weekend, when I was suddenly unable to access any of the programs (with the exception of Acrobat).  Every time I tried to open one of the CS3 applications, I'd get an error message saying that there was a problem with the program, and I would have to uninstall and reinstall.  So, I uninstalled the entire suite, but every time I try to reinstall, at the end of the process I get an uninformative message stating that "Some problems occurred during installation", and a message under each of the components stating "Component install failed".
Nothing on my computer has changed recently -- I haven't added any software, hardware, or otherwise done anything unusual that might cause this problem.  I use this software on a daily basis, so it's become quite a problem for me.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, always with the same result.
Any help would be appreciated.

Had you run the DNG on a Mac before?  On the Mac, the DNG Converter works on folders only, not on individual files (unless you use the Finder to drop the icons of your raw files on the DNG Converter application icon).  From within the application, using File > Open, the icon and names of individual raw files will always appear grayed out.
You need to target the folder that contains the files you want to convert.
CAVEAT: all eligible files in the folder will be converted, including any and all DNG files that may already be contained in the folder.  So if you have any DNGs in that folder, they will also be converted again and the original DNGs may be overwritten.

  • DNG Converter suddenly stopped working, won't read NEF files

    Hi all, I'm new here, but am looking for some help.
    I currently am on a mac book and run photoshop CS3. I've been shooting with a nikon d700 in raw. When I upload the photos to my computer I've previously run them through the DNG converter without a problem. Now, for the past two days it has just stopped working. When I try to convert the NEF files, they are just greyed out, I can't select anything. I tried reinstalling the DNG converter, but still no luck.
    I never had any issues with it before, and now it suddenly won't read my files. Any ideas what could be wrong?

  • Design Premium CS4 stopped working: error 148:3

    I am using Adobe design premium CS4. It used to work well but recently it has stopped working and displaying error :148:3. I would appreciate if someone could help me to solve this issue.

    You have not provided any system information, so we can't advise specifically. This is a licensing error and the standard "cure" is to reinstall the software properly.

  • Web and Design Premium pack stopped working

    Ever since yesterday, my Web and Design Premium pack from Adobe has stopped working. Upon starting the program, it tells me that I'm using a trial-version and that I need to buy a license. This is not true, I bought my license at a real store and I would like it to work properly like it did before. Re-entering my serial number did nothing, and it tells me that my 'serial number is invalid'.
    Something that might be a contributing factor to the problem is the fact that I switched internet modem yesterday. Does this have something to do with my Adobe pack not working anymore? If so, what can I do about it?
    I really hope I can get my pack working again, as I need it for my job.

  • Re-installing CS3 (Design Premium) doesn't work

    I had a crash on my iMac. When I tried to re-install my (in 2007 purchased) CS3 software, I got the message that it was an invalid serial number.
    Also "redeeming" the number through the site doesn't work.
    I have used the software for 7 years now, why doesn't it work anymore? I payed a conciderable amount of money for it, 2400 euro's and I want it to work again soon!
    Please tell me what to do, or what you can do!

  • Uber App Stopped Working, Won't Reinstall

    I have an iPhone 5S, fully up to date (version 8.1.2). Recently my Uber app told me to go ahead and upgrade it if I wanted to keep using it. I clicked the "upgrade" button, but nothing happen. Tried again, nothing happened. The dialogue box went away but it didn't upgrade at all.
    I've contacted Uber about this first, obviously, but all they've done is exacerbate the problem. They had me uninstall the app, hard reset, and then emailed me the link to reinstall the app. Every time I visit the link and click the "yes, download this app" dialogue option that pops up, the same thing happens: dialogue box disappears, then nothing. No app.
    So now I have zero Uber app on my phone and Uber's trying to tell me I just have to lease an iPhone from them, which is absurd since I own an iPhone. I'm not sure if anyone on this end of things can help, but since Uber's tech support was so unhelpful I figured I'd give it a shot.

    The current situation:
    Both Photoshop 7.0 and PE version 6 install with no error messages. 
    After rebooting the computer, I then make sure that they are running in
    compatibility mode for Windows XP in which they both worked.
    On trying to start the programs, there is some disk activity and then
    the program shuts down before getting to the flash screens.  When I open
    taskmanager, it does not even show the programs trying to run.
    There is an error message from InstallShield Corporation that runs when
    the computer is rebooted--error #5, which has to do with the automatic
    update function.  It is not clear whether this has anything to do with
    Adobe products or not.
    These programs worked after I originally installed Windows 7, but now do
    not.  That is the current situation.

    hi - my adobe design premium cs3 suddenly stopped working. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it won't let me. it goes through the motions and in the end only adobe reader gets installed. it says component install fail but doesn't give a reason. is there something that can be done? thank you!

    Follow the steps mentioned below
    Disconnect your Internet connection by disconnecting the cable or by turning off Wi-Fi.
    Relaunch the Adobe application.
    When the registration prompt appears, select "Never Register."
    Connect to the Internet.

  • Help! My airport has suddenly stopped working!

    I was mid browse and airport suddenly stopped working. I know it's not my wireless router as I can still connect with my wifi only iPad (typing this with it)
    I have tried everything. Rebooted several times. Ran fsck twice. Ran repair permissions. Cleaned caches etc.
    I can't even run network diagnostics because it won't accept the password even though I know it's right.

    If the technician at the shop is competent, he has given you a diagnosis that should have identified the problem.  You could run the Apple Hardware Test to verify the findings:

    Note the Apple Hardware Test is not definitive.
    Go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites.  They have parts and installation instructions.  To install an Airport card is fairly easy.

    If the page you linked does not work then it should so what happens when you try?  It is possible that it might be a simple matter of you enabling cookies or trying another web browser.
    You can also try to download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
    Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
