Help! How do I invite a contact to an event?

My default email is verizon. However, I use gmail for the calendar so that my husband and I can sync our calendars. When I go in my iphone calendar and create an event, I can't invite my husband. Anyone have advice on how to fix this?

Hi, I have a very similar issue, both my wife and I use gmail for the same reason however it seems that since the iOS 6 update this no longer works. It will allow us to enter an invite but the invitation never arrives on my wife's iPhone and vice versa.
Both of us have gmail set up as exchange so we can sync contacts and calendar with our gmail but this used to also allow us to invite each other to calendar appointment directly from our iPhones. This mo longer works. I can't work out why? Can someone point us in the right direction?

I receive meeting invitations from my client, and I need to add my internal teams to the invitation. How do I forward them the invitation without having to create an entirely new invitation just so they are included?

This only works if your iCal is linked to a calendar server.
To do this you need to go to iCal/Prefernces/Accounts and follow the explanations.

Well, I believe the only option is through iCloud or maybe a previous iTunes back up. I'm not 100% sure if iTunes backs up contacts as well (since I have not personally used iTunes back ups in some times), but I would start there. If you don't have them backed up anywhere, I don't know what to tell you.

Just go ahead and go to settings>Facebook> Contacts OFF and do the same with Gmail. THe contacts related to those acct will dissapear. Then when you sync again with Gmail be carefull BCS IT SAYS IF YOU WANT TO JUST ADD THE CONTACTS OR MERGE THEM!!!!

I believe I had leopard and I was having issues getting errors of system not being supported. I contacted Apple and was advised I needed to upgrade to snow leopard. My laptop is from 2009 and I haven't done anything to it till now. The apple rep also stated I should do a fresh install when putting snow leopard on so my laptop would run faster. Apple rep told me to get a external hard drive to put my info on it so the fresh install would reset everything to like it was brand new. I had someone help me with getting everything on the EHD.. doing the right format and such and then once that was done I put in the CD for snow leopard and hit install. Which brings me to now, with everything but my pictures. I have the EHD plugged in... now what? What do I do? I have looked in the EHD in iphoto and it was all standard images *not my pictures but images of a check mark or an arrow again not actual pictures. I don't see a folder pictures and i looked for images and found nothing. I have Applications, Included Free Designs, Library, System, User Guides and Information and Users, those are my options and non of those have a "pictures"
I have iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 & Mac OS X version 10.6.3
