Help! How do I unfreeze my ipod touch?

I have litterally tried everything! I have reset it holding down the home button and the sleep wake button several times and that didn't work and i've even restored it and that did not unfreeze it either. Its frozen on the home screen and it won't let me "slide to unlock" but i can still get notifications its almost like it doesn't detect heat.

Earlier today I wanted to sync new songs to my iPod Touch, so I plugged it into my computer and I ended up having to restore my touch, which wiped it clean. Pretty upset about that. Then it tried to download all of old things back onto the Touch but said that it couldn't update/locate over 100 songs that I have on my account. I gave up on the songs that it said it couldn't locate and I just unplugged my touch from the computer. It then started freezing up and not being able to function. I restarted it by pressing the power button and the home button at the same time and letting it restart but that did not work either. Now it is turning off and on, by itself! I cannot get it to do anything!
please help.

Try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod via iTunes.
Place the iPod in Recovery mode if necessary to allow the restore
If you can't turn the iPod off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.

I downloaded a game and now my screen is on but nothing this displayed. So bright white. I tried holding down the off button for up to 30 seconds and it did now power down.
I am not sure how I can UnFreeze my IPOD Touch.

Go to Settings>Notifications and turn alerts/sounds on for the app(s) in question. Not all apps have all options.

How long did you press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together? Have you tried doing this procedure more than once? Is the hold switch in the Off position?
If nothing else, let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up again.

In order to use Find My iPhone (or iPad, etc), your device has to be connected to iCloud with a valid ID/account, the Find my iPhone service has to be turned on (on the device), in Settings>iCloud. It sounds as though you haven't done these tasks - unfortunately, there's no way to track your lost device.
BTW, you don't "download" icloud, you register it on a device by going to Settings>iCloud and then click the ON switch and entering your ID/password (perhaps this is what you meant by downloading iCloud).
