HELP - I am going mad

Please can somebody help before I go mental.
My iTunes has been on my PC for about 4 months now no problems. Recently, it stopped working. I have tried uninstalling and installing it again which seems to work.
When I click to start the program, I get a message saying
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I have sent error reports but never had anything back.
PLEASE HELP
I am a novice with computers so please, if you reply, speak in thicko terms.

hmmmm. okay, the three things i check for first with one of these QT 0x80040707s are:
(1) a really badly broken QT where the breakage involves the installation registry entries.
(2) uninstalling QT from a different account from where the QT was originally installed.
(3) installing a higher version of QT in a different user account from where a lower version is installed.
... ufortunately, any of those may be in play in your case. (3 is actually a special case of 2, since the QT installer tries to remove pre-existing versions of QT as part of the installation process.) so let's try the following procedure.
steadily work through the user accounts trying to uninstall existing quicktimes from the Add/Remove.
if you can uninstall QT, then try a careful standalone QT reinstall:

if QT doesn't uninstall from

download and use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility, and remove QT using that. then let's try the careful standalone QT install again.

a lot of people have posted about this and i have seen one weird thing fix this. people said they where going into date and time under settings and changing the date to some time in the future and then going to the itunes store and it would give them an error that there date and time was wrong. then all you need to do is go back and set the date and time right and go back to the itunes store and try again.
Im not sure why this did the trick but a bunch of people said that this helped them out..... Weird i know

Hi there. I'm afraid i know very little about the workings of a mac other than swapping drives, ram etc.
I was made redundant a week ago and part of my severance was a 3.0QX tower... I have been leant an SSD drive running 10.6.8 which I know was working in the mac when I got it as I saw it running. I was also given a 1Tb drive as a work drive.
Tonight after returning from a holiday I have put the 1tb into one of the spare bays and booted the machine up, instantly the fans have come on and are blowing like a hovercraft on steroids. I took out the 1tb drive and I have noticed a small bit of black tape sat from the power and data connectors it was stuck to two pins on both sides. Now the mac won't boot at all and the fans are going mad on startup this is all before the usual mac 'boot' sound.
Please can someone advise as to whether this has shorted something or if there is a way to reboot or any advise as I have no idea and absolutely no clue and I am in mad panic mode as I am in desperate need to get this machine up and running so I can sort out my portfolio as well as website etc to get a new job ASAP.
The tape looks like it may have caught from the Bluetooth cables near to bay 2 and have been 'cut off' when when the drive was inserted. The tape looks like the cotton/material finish as oppose to a plastic insulate tape...
I appreciate any help as I can ill afford to replace or repair to be honest. So any feedback is better than non. Many thanks in advance.

The chime means the Mac has passed a Power-On-Self-Test; yours doesn't which is not good news.
I'd suggest going here and downloading the correct service manual. Based on "3.0QX tower" I think you have an early 2008 but I could be wrong; do you know which Mac Pro it is? If it is in fact the early 2008, get that manual and look at the diagnostic instructions starting on page 165.

HELP I'm going MAD! - bundled NTI software is killing my internet connection.

Hello All, If someone could help me it would be hugely appreciated. I have a NMH410 which I have attached as a centre hub for 4 computers to attach to. I am using this product as an replacement update to an existing Freecom FSG3 400gb. the FSG is still on the Network. (waiting for file migration to mediahub).The Linksys Media Hub is connected directly to a BT Business router (ewire) hxxp://business.bt.com/broadband-and-internet/internet-access/broadband/more-about-routers.
The network hosts 4 Wireless laptops and 1 Wireless printer which can all see files on the media hub and connect via the BT router. The NTI software is perfect for each laptop being backed up on the hub and provides the perfect amount of resilience for the business (no need for RAID as it is simply backing up work from the individual PC's, so if Media Hub Fails the data is on the laptops and Vice Versa!) As a concept this is fantastic... However, As soon as the NTI software is turned on to backup any of the individual laptops the Internet is un-contactable. I have tried a simple ping test to google.co.uk and activated the software and get no packet or data loss and the connection remains?? Throughout the Media Hub is always available, so therefore I may be posting this on the wrong message board (perhaps a contact with NTI is next) Any help will be hugely appreciated, ThanksAndy

I thought network conjestion but I could understand if i was doing all laptops together but i'm doing them one at a time...
We have no backup software on the computers as this product was going to provide an automated backup solution (instead of the manual ad-hoc method as now)

WRT54G Help I'm going mad

I have 2 computers, one of which I just purchased and it has windows vista. The other is connected to a cable modem and have the WRT54G hooked up to it. I'm trying to setup my new computer for the internet and am having a lot of difficulty. OK, so computed 1 (with the cable modem and wireless router hooked up) works fine. I plugged in the wireless adapter into computer 2 (new one with vista) and followed the on screen instructions. It can not find a driver. What am I doing wrong here. I thought no updated were required and this device was compatable with vista? Please help me.

also, some cds may have problems with vista, so i suggest you put in the cd, and x out of the pop up installation. Then plug in the adapter. Your computer should ask you if u want to install the new hardware, click yes, and then vista will search the cd for what it needs and intall that. Otherwise you may get an operating system error during install and it wont install.

I know that the rules are loaded: I printed them to check that. But nothing happens!!!! Almost all layout is gone. If I use the original stylesheet and load my rules on top of them, I can see I have all of them, but everything is layout with the original default style and again my layout is ignored.
HELP Please, anyone. I am desperate (deadline + demo is tomorrow) :-(

GL is far easier to do simple CSS than DW, but once you get through the awkward DW interface, it can become clearer. I can only easily see how CSS is created in DW by exporting a GL site that has some already in it. Still not as easy as GL, but we're now stuck with it.
DW still does not handle full fledged CSS unless you have coding experience.
DW has always been more for the programmer than designer (just try asking a question on the DW forum :-)
CS4 seems to be an improvement, but not there yet.

That means the OS is not installed to your computer.

Ok .... My partner is going mad because he is convinced I have tried to access his iPad 4. He typed in the wrong pass code just once and it has disabled itself for 5 mins leaving him convinced that I have tried to get into it . I haven't. He is really angry and I've done nothing . Now he has turned the wifi off and my kids can't play their xboxes .
Is this a glitch possible on ipad4?
What other possible causes are there?
The iPad has been banged screen down on hard surface a couple of times..... Could this attribute to the issue?

If the iPad has been "banged down on hard surface" it is possible that just a touch of the screen, or coming near the screen, may have resulted in a false entry. Or it could be the kids.
Either way you need to dump your partner and get your kids out of that environment. Your partner has anger management issues and needs counseling.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Is the TV at minimum a 1080p with an HDMI port?
What is your Machine ID? DO NOT give us your serial number. We just need the x and y values of the Machine ID in your system profiler as given in this format:
