HELP!! I am having BIG PROBLEMS getting the Custom Page Sizes to work!!

I am having a MAJOR challenge working with the Custom Page Size feature in Pages '09. My mom is working on a primer music book for publication, where the page size (for the printer) MUST BE 9" X 12"!! For some reason even though I have set the custom page size to 9" x 12", The document does not appear to have the proper proportions, (i.e. the ration of the width to height IS NOT EQUAL TO THAT OF A 9" X 12" DOCUMENT!!)
HELP!! PLEASE!!
Also, for some reason my Vertical Ruler has COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED!! My Horizontal Ruler (on top) is still there but there is no sign of the vertical one which is CRITICAL for aligning the of the content for publication!!
I took an annotated screenshot of what the document that is +*SUPPOSEDLY 9" x 12".*+ But there is +*NO WAY THAT IT IS ACTUALLY 9"12!!*+
I have also taken some screenshots of a few other Inspector Panels and other things that might help SOMEBODY to figure out what the problem is!

Welcome to the forum.
To show your vertical ruler:
+Menu > Pages > Preferences > Rulers > check Enable vertical ruler in word processing documents+
You are right the page does look slightly too high.
The one thing you did not give us was a screen snap of the *Custom Page* you set up in *Page Setup…*
This is what would dictate the actual page size.

Is anybody else having big problems using the new pages?

Everything has moved and even the help section isn't that helpful. I have been sitting in class for over an hour trying to make a portfolio, but can't because everything is so different. I have no idea how any of the changes are supposed to make it simpler. You can't even save as a word document! Instead there's all this export rubbish. I'm going to fail this class because of the new pages update. I have been putting off this update for weeks but since the newest OS update, everything is automatically updating so I had no choice. Actually make it easier, or make it possible to undo the update.

It's been 7 months since it came out. Didn't you read the reviews in the App Store? Plus all the forum posts here?

Use Pages '08/'09 it should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

Having a problem getting the 4 digit SMS access code. Even when I click on the get code tab, It says an error has occurred during the Viber activation process.

Is Viber an app? have you tried contacting the developer?

I have recently had a problem when turning my iPad on from shutdown, in that it takes at least four attempts to slide my finger across to get the home page. The screen is clean, and when I do eventually get the home page it all works perfectly. Any ideas?

I have a problem getting my IPad to start from shutdown. I get the Apple logo then when it is ready for me to slide my finger across the lower part of the screen to get the home page, it takes at least four attempts. When it does eventually open the home page, all works perfectly well. The screen is clean so I cannot see any reason for this annoying problem. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you. Problems getting the free Suduko download to work

I've got a Curve (8310) and went to download the free suduko application from the owner's lounge.
I got it downloaded and added to my handset, but when I try to open it and play I get nothing but the intro screen. Nothing else happens and it's like it freezes. The only thing I can do is close out of it using the red handset button, which takes me back to the homescreen.
I'd really like to use this application and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or has an idea how to fix it?

I can't configure the custom page Size Dimensions!!!

We want to print form with special dimensions.
We did the following steps:
1. Select print (adobe pdf), properties, presentations, advanced options, PostScript Custom Page Size Definition.
2. The range to define don't appear in the unit Milimeter.
I am using Acrobat Standar XI. (11.0.03) and there aren't more updates.

Al crear un PDF a traves de la impresora virtual Adobe PDF, se utiliza un normalizador, Distiller que incluyen Acrobat Std. y Pro.
Los ajustes de Distiller (que convierten un archivo intermedio PostScript [PS] a PDF) controlan el tamaño de cada página, pero no modifican los márgenes del archivo original o del PS generado.
En Windows se pueden generar archivos [PS] a traves de escoger una impresora PS, filmadora, o Adobe PDF, o marcando la casilla de Imprimir archivo.
Igualmente, como has mostrado en tus captura, al i mprimir se pueden configurar tamaños de página de salida, lo que si he comprobado como tú ha hecho, (utilizando Excel) es que no utiliza en esta situación los offsets, desplazamientos, de la parte superior o izquierdo aplicados, en el archivo [PS] generado, no sé si es una limitación de configuración de la impresión en el sistema operativo, Windows, o está diseñado así.
Posibles alternativas:
En las aplicaciones Office, al menos, se pueden configurar los márgenes al inicio o antes de imprimir en la vista previa
En Acrobat Pro se pueden seleccionar los objetos y moverlos dentro de la página, también existen plug-ins para automatizarlo.
Creo que la solución de ajustar la distancia al lado izquierdo debe estar disponible en ese software que genera las páginas.

I am having a problem getting the Zoom Text Only Feature to work

I realize you are trying to repeat something someone at a "help" desk told you but I can't figure out what the question is. Maybe you could tell us what the problem is and what you told them. Might help if we knew the url, but I'm guessing it's a financial site, so just explain the problem as best you can. Were you in private browsing -- settings not saved
Do you have any idea why you were told that your problem is unique compared to others using Firefox, or maybe that you were told that Firefox was unique.

I'm having a problem getting a custom persona to dispaly.

I'm having a problem with getting a custom persona to be able to be used, I followed all the size rules, and the instructions for getting it to be used, but it won't stay up. I have FF 4 and windows 7. It will display while I'm in edit, but will not stay up. I do not intend to upload to sight, it's for my own use.

I went and shut all addons down except for personas and it still persisted not to have my custom one stay "up". but would switch to a gallery one I had on previously. I tried an old custom one I had success with before I updated to FF 4, and it would not let it stay up. Thanks though for the suggestion.

How to get the customized page's xml version ?

I have created some fields (of style 'MessageChoice', 'MessageLovInput') through personalization in a page and after that i navigated to the middle-tier where our MDS repository holding all the page's source file (in form of XXXXPG.xml) to get the updated version of the same page in xml version.
But i couldn't get the latest version of page's XML file instead i found the old standard file only.
Please help me in getting the file and guide me the path if it got stored somewhere in the architecture.

Could you please pour your ideas how to store the custom personalizations in Unix box through Functional Administrator responsibility ?
And one more question is as you said it will be stored in the form of xml but i have searched the page in the middle tier where it(standard one) got stored, but unable to find any one. How to find the xml file after doing the personalizations and in which path ?

Opening Numbers and getting the same page size and location each time

Can someone help me with something which is pretty basic, please?
When I open a Numbers spreadsheet which I use frequently, each time it opens as a tiny box and always has to be resized and repositioned onscreen before I can start work.
I figure there must be something I can do to have it open in the same screen position and the same size each time, but what?

Your tags show OS X Mavericks 10.9. The latest version of Mavericks is 10.9.2
Are using Numbers 3.0 ? The lates version of Numbers is 3.1 and it does save the zoom.
Maybe this will help, but it does not work in Numbers 3.0
Numbers > Preferences > General > Default Zoom > 100% (or whatever % you want).
And Save your document before closing to retain the zoom and position.
The Numbers *window* size can not (yet) be saved, but the zoom and the position within a sheet can be saved in Numbers 3.1

How to get the HTML page size displayed in JEditorPane

I'm using a JEditorPane object in order to view/display an HTML page. The nature fo my program is that it does not know the size of the page in advance, but only on runtime. I'd like to get the size of the HTML page in order to determine the frame size according to the size of the HTML page.
Is there a way to get the size of the HTML page from the JEditorPane?

after displaying the page in your editor pane you can get the diamension for the page by calling
JComponent class method getSize();
actually your question is not so clear
use the JScroll pane then you don't need to worry about the size of the page.

I have a customized Yahoo as a home page, but while browsing, Firefox returns it to the general Yahoo home page and I have to "sign in" to get the customized page back.

Whenever I move to the Yahoo mail, I have to "sign in" with Yahoo in order to get back to the customized Yahoo home page. I don't mind doing that when I use the Yahoo mail system, but recently, whenever I switch from FireFox to another browser, when I return to Firefox, I am returned to the Yahoo general page and I have to "sign in" to get back to the customized version of my home page.

Help please, im having big problems enabling wifi sync

Im having problems enabling wifi-sync between my Windows PC (Windows 7 - iTunes 11.0.4) and my iPhone 4S (Running iOS 6.1.3)
iTunes lets me check the box "Sync This Phone over WiFi" and when i click Apply - Then Sync the box stays checked but when I look on my iPhone on Settings > General > iTunes Wifi Sync it just still says "To enable Wi-Fi Syncing with iTunes, connect to iTunes on your computer using a cable and click "Syncwith this iPhone over Wi-Fi"."
I have checked that both iphone and PC are connected to same WiFi network, and have tried a FW restore on the iphone and neither have solved the problem. I have also authorised my computer to my apple ID.
Im getting to the end of my tether with this issue now, its strange because my wifes iPod Touch will sync over wifi flawlessly (Same PC, different user account)
Please help if you can...

Yes, i have been clicking APPLY and then SYNC and then finally "ejecting" the iphone frmo within itunes before i dis-connect it. Its a very odd problem.

I am having a problem getting the "yahoo messenger options" under Option button in Yahoo Mail after I sign on to Yahoo Mail?

I log-in to my Yahoo Mail. I click the options button at the top of the screen. A pop up appears with 3 options Theme, Mail Options and messenger options. I select messenger options and nothing happens. Theme & Mail Options work fine. FYI, the Messenger option works under the latest version of IE.

This is an issue with Yahoo!, not an issue with the iOS Devices, no matter the software version of the device. One way you can confirm if this issue is with Yahoo! is to check your other E-Mail providers. I have done this, my Gmail and Outlook all work fine. Contact Yahoo!, Apple only allows the ability to put the E-Mails on the phone, they are not responsible for the behavior in which Yahoo! operates.

I can confirm the problem you are hitting. The XML test trace does not get recognized at all, and it defaults to Eclipse's basic Open File behaviour. I am not sure if it's because the format definition is missing, or if it's because something prevents the trace type from being recognized. I will open a bug about it.
