Help: I am trying to update my iphone but it won't go past an itunes icon
I received a new update from microsoft so I started the update. It has stopped on the screen where nice graphics of a plug in is reaching up from the bottom of the phone with an arrow to the Itunes icon. I do not know what this means. Please help me because I cannot move beyond this stage to use my phone. Thank you. B
You could ask a friend that has a SIM-Card or stop by an Apple Store. They may be able to help you. The card is only required for a few seconds, until the device is activated. Then you can take it out and give it back.

This means that either your firewall/antivirus is blocking access to Apple's servers, or you have used your computer to jailbreak an iDevice in the past. The link above tells you how to resolve this issue. -

Pls i was trying to update my iphone 3G to software version 4.2 using itune. The process did not complete succesfully. I then decided to restore back my restore my prevoius version 4.1, it stopped with an error code1015. Pls i need help
Go here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 and download iOS 4.2.1 for the iPhone 3G. Perform a restore, but hold down ALT when clicking restore. Restore from this file you just downloaded. You should not get 1015 as you are upgrading, but if you get a different error, report back.

in a yellow triangle.Restore as a NEW device to test. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.
