But why then Nokia seperates according to product codes if a device can be imported and exported anywhere arnd the world? This makes most customer having difficulties after purchase to update the firmware and additional products.
If another product code tagged device arrives in the country which its not meant to be sold? then the customers will face difficulties.I've seen firmware updating issues as a serious matter, since most people are not enjoying these stuffs.
As in my country the product codes are:
0570197: APAC1 Blue Malaysia
0573786: APAC1 Black Malaysia
0570196: APAC1 Red Malaysia
I'm an Xploit - Please feel free to post your issues, feedbacks in this discussion forum and I'll do my level best to help, otherwise my knowledged friends whom are around willing to help you. Thank you !

    Don't know if anyone else noticed this, it came out quietly as far as I can see, but now nokia are offering firmware upgrades to N series devices over the net (and over the air if you've an N80). See here http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/softwareupdate . A stroke of genius as far as I'm concerned.
    As an aside, this also puts the latest firmware for Orange on the N70, and gives you an option to disable the dreaded "Homescreen of Death". Doesn't get active standby back though unfortunately.

    No N80 support at this time though.
    I'm keeping my eyes peeled though....

  • I am concerned about personal data being not encryption in transit over the Internet and therefore can be seen by other people.

    I am a new Firefox user. I have just installed Firefox 4 on my windows PC today, 5/27/11. I have two major questions:
    1. Accidentally, I clicked some thing at random on the screen (I can't remember what it was) and this page, http://us.config.toolbar.yahoo.com/bh/v2/wp/?view=wc&intl=us&pc=yma3&dc=v2_upgd&cv=2.3., showed up under Yahoo! Toolbar. It informed me that the connection was not encrypted and that information sent over the Internet could be seen by other people. I am not sure what the warning is all about. Does it mean when I use Firefox as a browser to access the Yahoo! and other Internet sites, e.g., my bank, all my personal (username, password, etc.) and bank data will be seen by other unauthorized people? I have never seen a similar warning from other browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Safari? So, if Firefox does not offer protection of personal data, I wonder what's the point of using it. I could have misinterpreted the Firefox warning and would highly appreciated it if you can clarify.
    2. During the installation process, a message showed that Firefox 4 was not compatible with certain features of some of the software already on my PC. I did not copy those features and do not remember what they were except one that was associated with my firewall ZoneAlarm. I could be wrong but I think the message also said Firefox had removed the incompatible features. Please tell me if I should be concerned about it, especially the one that was removed from ZoneAlarm. Will my PC become susceptible to hacker invasions when I use Firefox as the browser? I wish Firefox had given some written explanations along with the incompatibility and removal message so that a user can understand exactly what it is about.
    I would appreciate to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. I have tentatively suspended using Firefox until I can be assured that it is safe to do so without potentially compromising my personal data.
    Thank you.

    That is a generic warning message that you get if you submit a form via a normal HTTP connection (i.e not in via a secure HTTPS connection). That warning pop-up probably has a box to suppress this message in the future.
    If you exchange data with your bank site then there should be a secure connection.
    You can verify that by clicking the Site Identity Button (website's favicon) on the left end of the location bar.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button
    You need to check the ZoneAlarm website to see if they have an update of their software that is compatible with Firefox 4.0.1

  • Please Help! RDS not working over the internet

    Hello Everyone,
    I recently set up a new server that is running Server 2008 R2 and need to get RDS setup so that I can connect to the server using a remote desktop connection over the internet.
    I can access the web access site over the internet and login as expected but it does not allow me to connect via remote desktop to the server using its FQDN. It just gives me the typical can't connect message. I have verified that connecting via remote desktop
    using the RDS web access site works within my local network.
    So far I have done the following:
    - Added the server to the domain and assigned a static IP address that is public on the internet (associated dns record also added by my ISP)
    - Added all of the RDS roles except for virtualization host and added appropriate settings throughout the wizard
    - Configured and added a self-signed ssl cert
    - Added the server as a web access server
    - Disabled Firewall and Security software on the server for testing purposes
    That said, can anybody shed some light on what I may have missed? When entering the computer name over the internet, do I have to add a port or anything like that? It's odd that I can connected to the web access page which is hosted on the server I am trying
    to connect to via remote desktop but I cannot actually use remote desktop.
    This is my first time attempting to use RDS so maybe I just missed an important step somewhere.
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

    I added the certificate to the PC I'm trying to connect from and I'm still getting the same error.
    This is what I'm seeing below, I figure pictures speak louder than words in this case.
    Under the Remote Desktop link:
    Connect to:
    Remote Desktop size:
    Options
    Devices and resources (followed by checkboxes for them)
    Additional Options
    Remote computer sounds:
    Apply keyboard shortcuts:
    Performance:
    When I click connect a warning comes up saying unknown publisher and when I click connect I get the error again.
    That said, I went into RD Session Host Server Settings and under the RD Session Host Server tab I checked a box that says "Show a remote desktop connection to this RD Session Host server in RD Web Access" and now under the
    remoteapp programs link on the RDWeb there is an icon for Remote Desktop. When I click the icon it automatically tried to connect me to the server and lists the publisher and remote computer as the same rather than giving me a warning.
    Additionally, in the RD Session Host Server Settings it does say the server name as the FQDN RDP port 3389 under "connection settings" in the same tab.
    edit: I am going to put together some pictures so you can see exactly what I'm seeing on the RDWeb and will post again with a link once I have them up.

  • Is ARD ready to accept clients over the internet?

    Fisrt of all, thank you all for spending time for this and any other post. Second, thanks again for the patience for all of us trying to understand the complexity of computers when we have little experience.
    Facts: I have a small retail business with 5 stores all equiped with macs as POS. Recently I signed for broadband service for all stores (DSL). I also bought ARD (2.2) to bring all stores online?? All of the macs are running tiger.
    Questions: Can I build a network over the internet (with or without ARD?
    How can I search for my computers (stores) over the internet and take control of ARD features? if possible.
    Im sure I have many more questions. In fact I honestly dont know if the subject is reflecting exactly my intentions or my company needs. My dream is to be anywhere with a hotspot and be able to see each store screen (POS software) on my computer, and also browse each store inventory levels, and sales. So, what do I have to do to acomplish this?
    With regards,
    Ricardo
    Mexico City

    Can I build a network over the internet (with or without ARD?
    I'm not sure what you mean by "build a network". If you mean (basing on your later comment) that you want to be able to view and control a workstation across the Internet through ARD, the answer is a qualified "yes". It depends on whether or not the Internet connection you're using at any given time can pass the TCP ports that ARD uses (3283 and 5900). If the Internet connection on both ends is under your control, it's generally possible (and not too difficult) to open up the necessary ports. But a wireless hot spot in some restaurant, coffee shop or hotel, may well have those ports blocked, and it will not be possible for you to open them.
    How can I search for my computers (stores) over the internet and take control of ARD features? if possible.
    If your workstations are using public IP addresses (either static or DHCP), you can just enter in the IP address range to search for them. If you're using NAT for providing your workstations their IP addresses, then you will have to set the NAT router to forward the applicable IP ports to the workstation, and then will have to know the router's public IP address and enter that manually into ARD.
    Hope this helps.

  • ARD over the internet - one external IP, multiple clients

    I have a tricky question (at least it is tricky for me)...
    The objective: To connect to a single static external IP over the internet and gain access to the 4 or so ARD client computers that are on the network within.
    Currently I connect to the external IP and have configured my router to forward the relevant ports to a single client computer (one internal IP using the relevant port 5900 forwarding as suggesting in the user manual).
    My question is, what do I have to do to be able to have access to (and control) more than one of the ARD clients on the network within??
    Any help here would be much appreciated!
    My thanks in advance.

    Setup a VPN or install ARD admin on the one client you have access to and control the other clients from there.
    can you explain to me how to set up ARD admin, and access?
    I'm trying to use NAT portmapping and some how it's not working.
    Thanks,

  • Enable ESS over the internet but not the MSS

    Hello gurus!!!
         I have a few questions that I need to get clarified. We have a Portal server and we installed ESS and MSS business packages on it. Now, our requirement is that we just need to expose ESS applications over the internet and not the MSS applications. When a user gets logged into the portal, the user might be assigned a MSS role and also an ESS role. But when this user tries to login to the portal away from work (ie over the internet), the user should be denied access to the MSS applications but should be allowed to access only the ESS applications.
    How can we enable this on one portal server?
    Thanks a lot!!
    ~~~LB
    I know its not my Network or ISP because I have RealVNC Enterprise connecting with no issues internally nor outside of my network and it uses the same VNC port 5900 so it can't be that.
    ARD only uses port 5900 for observation and control. For other functions ARD uses port 3283. So you may need to open and forward that port as well, or verify that your ISP and other locations aren't blocking.
    Regards.
  • JDBC MYSQL localhost vs. over the internet
    I am new to java so please take it easy on me. I have a little bit of a crisis here and want to make sure I understand what it is that I am trying to accomplish.
    I have a Java application that I want people to run from their machine that access my web server over the internet and connects to my MYSQL database. It uses webstart to download application to their machine where they run it locally. Here is how I have this setup. Is this not a standard practice? Or should I have used a different Java technology to have them run the application directly from my server using localhost instead of mywebsite?
    So, am I using java in a practical way using mywebsite.com:3306 and the user running it locally on their machine. Or do I have to set this up so they run in on my server using localhost?
    try
                   String userName = "testuser";
                   String password = "testpass";
                   String url = "jdbc:mysql://mywebsite.com:3306/test";
                   Class.forName ("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance ();
                   conn = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);
                   System.out.println ("Database connection established");
               catch (Exception e)
                   System.err.println ("Cannot connect to database server");
    Good evening, CD.
    As the others have said, you should not have your SQL server exposed to the public. If you use ACLs or similar and allow only trusted hosts to access your MySQL server, you should be fine to continue as-is (Java client connecting to TCP port 3306 of your server if I understand your explanation correctly.) If you want to convert your simple application to a server-side app, you could also use something like procrun if your server is running Windows or jsvc for UNIX/Linux. This will enable you to run your app as a service/daemon and you could configure it to listen on an arbitrary port for incoming connections and use the app as an intermediary for interfacing connecting clients with your MySQL database. This is just another idea opposed to installing and configuring Tomcat, Jetty, or the like and possibly a webserver in front of that.
  • Saving an Image to an Oracle Database over the Internet
    I would like to know how to transfer an image over the Internet and save that image to an Oracle Database. That is I am trying to make it so that a user can connect to the Internet and select an image file form their PC in TIFF, JPEG, or some other format. Next, I would like to save this image to an Oracle 7.3.4 Database in a LongRaw data type. This image will need to be save into a certain record in a table that I created. In the next few months we will be upgrading to Oracle 8 that uses Blob data type. Any one who knows how this can be done, please let me know.
    Yes, that's right. Here is the pertinent code:
    In the flax app:
    private function captureImg(imgEnc:IImageEncoder):void {
    var ohSnap:ImageSnapshot;ohSnap = ImageSnapshot.captureImage(img, 0, imgEnc);
    textArea.text = ImageSnapshot.encodeImageAsBase64(ohSnap);
    InsertImage(textArea.text);
    In the HTTP service AS module:
    private
    function InsertImage(sImageCoded:String):void { var sQry:String;sQry =
    "INSERT INTO image (lImageId, blbBitMap, txtImage, lRecipeId) " sQry +=
    "VALUES(0, '" +sImageCoded +"', 'text', 23)"
    //Alert.show(sQry);mysqlQuery(sQry,
    "InsertImage");}
    As mentioned previously, an HTTPrequest error is generated although I can enter
    the string into the blob manually in MySQL.
  • I want to be able to remotely access my lion server over the internet how do I do this after installing lion server
    i have a mac mini with lion server, I just want to be able to access it over the internet and upload and download files to it like my windows server, but I dont have a clue how to go about even starting this process
    Im guessing you simply want to know what tool to use to access it. Meaning you access with your windows box with remote desktop - the mac equivalent of that is "screen sharing"
    step 1: enable screen sharing on the mac server:  system pref -> sharing -> screen sharing
    step 2: forward needed ports if behind a router (off the top of my head I believe its port 5900)
    step 3: depending on what type of machine you're trying to access from... if from a mac, finder -> go -> connect to server ->  vnc://ip_address_or_domain_name  ------ if from a windows or linux box you'll need to get a VNC client (see google for those)
    good luck and hope this helps
  • This is how to wake your desktop over the internet via WRT54GS!
    Assuming you've read how to configure the BIOS and Network adapter, this is what needs completed on the router.  If you search this subject you'll discover a gazillion threads about failure.  I tried hard for several weeks, only being able to wake it over my LAN, but never over the internet and then abandoned the whole idea months ago, but tried it again today with success.  I had my brother in law test the configuration from 500 miles away - Indiana to PA.  I Port Forwarded  and Port Triggered to port 1649 but you can select a different port.  I enabled  Wireless Access and Remote Management in Administration.  Months ago I believe I'd tried Port Triggering without the Administration settings and, with Administration settings enabled, without triggering.  Now the most interesting thing is after the initial test I re-enabled the routers Firewall and I was still able to wake the PC.  I also set up a rule in my software firewall to open port 1649.  I'm not sure that is necessary, since in theory the pc and the firewall are off.  Now my external IP is not static, however, it never, never, ever changes so all other settings were just default.  One thread I read one time was a person could only wake the PC in the first 30 seconds after shutdown.  I haven't tested that problem.  I'm also going to retest Port Triggering without Wireless Access and/or Remote Management enabled.  Give it a try and good luck!
    I edit!  So I just woke it up without Wireless Access and Remote Management enabled or the port open in the software firewall.  I went through a VPN tunnel, however, not 100% sure that is a valid test.  It would seem that triggering and not just forwarding maybe the key!
    Hi Jasbryan,
    If RV220W doesn't forward UDP to a broadcast address, could you ( i.e. Cisco) provide a tools for sending WOL Magic Packet to the LAN on Router Device Manager page?
    I see many routers also provide this tools from their manager page.
    Thanks.
    I just bought a mac mini over the weekend. I saved items from my old G4 to an external hard drive. I go to plug in the external hard drive and the new computer is not recognizing it. Help.
    Here is the information I have. The external hard drive is a 120GB Acomdata. It has both USB and Firewire. When I go to plug in to the mac mini through USB, it is not being recognized. When I switch to Firewire on the old computer I can see it, however when I go to USB it is not being recognized (even on the old computer).
    I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any advice would be helpful.
    Have you ever tried the FW 400 to 800 adapter?
    I have used them on multiple occasions and they work just fine.
    Try this (maybe you already have):
    -Boot Mini with drive disconnected.
    -Do not connect drive but turn it on
    -wait a few seconds for drive to spin up
    -plug cable into the Mini then into drive.
    This is an old drive and may have some timing
    issues.
    I had an Acomdata drive a long time ago.  It
    worked fine with FW but USB was flakey.
  • I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks tells me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia)
    I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks keep telling me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia.). Thanks
    Downloaded the Trial version. It still says the serial number key is invalid. On the iWork page where I am suppose to enter the serial number key, the "Go Back" button is always BOLD, but the "Continue" button remains GREY all the time. The "Continue" button remains grey even after I have completed the key entry. I have to type the "Return" key on my keyboard to force enter the key. The message I get is still "Invalid key".
    I have called Apple. The first person helped by asking me to delete certain items in some Folders and it still did not work. I was then connected to a senior person, but I heard over the recording that there were 15 persons waiting on the line. I had to end the call because the wait will take too long.
    Bought 4th Gen 3TB TC - streaming TV over the internet is now so slow and now is constantly buffering.  It seems the Airport Utility is always 'searching for new networks' - don't know if this is the problem.  It's not the internet speed as checked that.  I took my old router upstairs and was streaming TV via my ipad seamlessly - the same program via the TC was constantly buffering.
    I just expected to be able to plug in the TC, so a simple set-up and experience wireless both upstairs and downstairs in my house.  For some reason the range is low and speed veru disappointing.
    I am far from being an IT expert but I would welcome advice about setting up this TC so we can enjoy the product as it was designed.  Please HELP!
    No silver bullet........but my suggestions may drive you in the right direction.
    1.  Unplug the power cable from the TC and wait 10-15 minutes before powering back up.   Seriously wait!
          Proceed to #2 if this dosen't help.
    2.  Unplug the power cable from the TC, ubplug the power cable from your Broadband Modem (assuming it's a cable modem), disconnect ethernet, and cable from modem.
    2a.  Wait 10-15 minutes then re-connect cable, ethernet, and power back to modem (your modem should power up unless you have a power switch)  wait for all the modem lights to come on EXCEPT activity.
    2b.  Connect ethernet from modem to TC, and plug in the power cable to TC.
          Proceed to #3 if this dosen't help.
    3.  Reconfigure the TC.........Read here........http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3728
    All really simple to do....if you need additional help let me (us) know.
