HELP! I cannot access yahoo/apple and some other websites

Ever since i have fixed my internet connection in the college that i attend, i have been having problems with my internet connection at home. Access to the apple and yahoo websites have been sporadical and at times just loads the hyperlinks, missing all the images. I have tried everything i can think of and have been trawling through forums to find an answer, you guessed it.. to no avail. I tried flushing the cache in terminal changing the DNS settings resembling a mac in the same house that works perfectly, creating a new airport in the system preferences, the MTU and the location. I am not a programmer so cannot tell from pings and other requests where the problem lies, but would more than gladly give anyone this information if they would be kind enough to try and solve this for me.
I am in the final few weeks of college before i graduate so i really need to access my main mail source (yahoo) between lecturers to discuss my final year projects.
Google works 95% of the time as do many other sites that i frequent, the only websites that i have noticed thus far have been yahoo apple youtube and twitter.

It could be browser incompatibility or something else. When you say you can't log in, what happens? Is the bank website generating an error saying you're not using a supported browser? Does the login form for your bank account display as usual, but once you submit the form to log in it doesn't work? Give me a specific step-by-step of what you're doing, such as...
1. I load bankofamerica.com
2. I type in my login
3. When I submit, the page does nothing
Obviously that may not be your issue, but giving us details like that will help us come to a quicker conclusion.

Cannot download Mp3 files and some other format

Hi people,
I cannot download Mp3 files and many other files. I cannot update my Ovi Store app and pretty much everything else. I can download pdf and zip using opera but almost everything else (including mp3 and sis files) redirects to Nokia browser which just freezes no download. I have tried another same model phone E72 and no problem.
It seem my browser is corrupt and can't find way to reinstall.
Also why don't nokia let us download with browser of our choice? I would rather use opera than inbuilt one

Apart from loss of data issue in the circumstances you may have to either "hard reset" or re-install existing firmware to eliminate possible software corruption.

Firefox crashes constantly when opening Yahoo Mail and some other sites

Hi, since last night FF has been crashing constantly. It all started with opening yahoo mail page but just some hours ago it happened on Rolling Stone magazine's site.
I have tried all the suggested troubleshooting (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help#w_check-to-see-if-the-crash-happens-in-safe-mode). Then I did a complete wipe and reinstall of FF as instructed here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox and the problem persists (even when no extensions and no personal data exists).
I am completely at loss here. It is my work-horse browser and I truly need it working. Please assist.

Here's my situation....after I've been in yahoo mail for about 4 or 5 minutes,. it suddenly freezes and I see in the upper left hand corner of the tool bar it say firefox not responding, and then sometimes it just crashes. I shut of java, and I disabled ad blocker plus and it still does it, although not as frequently. I'm not going to go into safe mode and do all the of things some have suggested. I'm not that tech savvy, if there's not a good fix, then I'll use another browser until Mozilla can fix this. It would seem to me that since Mozilla and Yahoo are going to be working together in future builds why not fix the issue rather than frustrate long time users.....

Did you create a new profile for that 4.0 beta version?
Do you still have the regular Firefox 3.6.8 version installed?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Despite my spell check being set, it does not work in Hotmail and some other websites.

I have the setting for spell check set up but it does not work on some sites like hotmail. I go to the spell check button in hotmail and it tells me that my browser will automatically check as I type but it doesn't. I've searched to override this or to get the spelling checked independently but without any luck, Any suggestions?

Not all locales come with a dictionary installed for licensing reasons.
If you do not have the en-US locale then check that you have a dictionary installed (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions).
You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the ''Languages'' submenu.
Also make sure that [[X]"Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a tick.
You can also try to toggle the "Check Spelling" item off and on again.

Text in forms and some other websites show up in a foreign language, I think it is cantonese. How do i revert back to normal?

Form data shows up in a foreign language and im not quite sure how to change it back.

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.

I can't view YouTube and some other website!

Since a week or so I can't view certain websites, these include YouTube, Google Translate and Google Maps. But it's not a connection error, when I type "youtube.com" in the address bar NOTHING happens, or when I click on a YouTube link which opens a new tab it doesn't even load anything, it just goes instantly blank. I even REINSTALLED Firefox 2 times and it still not works. This is driving me crazy. In Chrome everything works fine.

Try using open DNS.
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS
click the + in the left side column and add the following:

Click OK, then click Apply

Did you run all the software updates after the 10.6.3 update, especially this one which will bring you up to 10.6.8.
Mac OSX 10.6.8 V1.1 Combo update
Run software update, starting with the one above.
Then call your provider and ask them what is going on. They have probably changed POP to IMAP, 10.6.8 supports IMAP

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Apologies, I was looking at the wrong schematic for the Apple TV 1. There isn't a button. So lets try this instead...
Remove the power cord and wait 20 seconds.
Plug it back in and let it boot (Give it 10 minutes, it's being tempremental)
Try and navigate to the the advanced menu and do a factory restore
If that doesn't work then if you are using the white remote hold down the menu button for six seconds and release this should bring up a hidden menu which will allow you to access the advanced configuration settings.
Again, if this fails there isn't much to do than tap it with a hammer to see if that fixes it (hard to believe how many times that actually works. (No responsibility taken if it breaks!, but at least you'd have a good reason to buy Apple TV 3)

Cisco 1262 AP cannot access via cosole and GUI

I have a Cisco AIR-LAP1262N-E-9 but I cannot access via console and GUI. Also, I noticed that after getting IP address from DHCP server, its IP address will be released after 2minutes. Then after a while, the access point will get another new IP address. And this happens repeatedly.

I have a WLC 5508 controller. I just want to have a basic setup for my upcoming project implementation. On my test bed, I have WLC, 2 sets of AP, and PoE L3 switch. The L3 switch serves as a DHCP server to APs. I manually set the Management Interface IP address of WLC in the same VLAN of the DHCP scope for AP just for basic connectivity. Upon powering up the APs, the WLC detected the APs. However, after 2-3 minutes, the WLC cannot detect anymore the APs. I also notice that the APs are getting their IP address to DHCP server but it will release after sometime..may about 3minutes. Then the APs will get again IP address and will release it. And this happens continuously. I just wish to hard code the IP settings to APs via console but I cannot access it.
