Help...I'm connected to my network and the internet but cant get on!
Ok, so im connected to the internet and my network but when i open safari i can't get on the web. It says to run network diagnostics and when i do it tells me all is working fine!!!
I've now added Firefox which will allow me on the net. But when users log on it wont automatically pick up the proxy settings. Its killing me because its such an annoying problem.
It all started when we added a new ISA server for the PC and Xserve networks but we have since proved that that isn't causing the problems.
ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS!?!?! I NEED HELP

All my other computers work fine with the network settings I have. I have done the reset in general settings and the toggling of the airplane mode button and a few other suggested remedies such as hard reboot, etC. Can anyone help? As much as I hate to do this I am thinking of going to another brand and perhaps someone would recommend one or discourage me from the move.

I am trying to hook up my Airport Express to my current network and AirPort Extreme but keep getting the same error message: "This version of AirPort Utility doesn’t support this base station. Go to AirPort Service and Support for more information." Any thoughts?
This sounds as if you have an older AirPort Express that is no longer supported by the newer Mavericks operating system.
To check and see if that might be the case, locate the model number on the side of the AirPort Express. It will start with an "A" followed by four numbers. Hard to see in the faint print.....so you may need reading glasses or a magnifying class to see the model number clearly.
Model numbers A1084 and A1088 of the AirPort Express are no longer supported by AirPort Utility in Mavericks.
You will need to use a Mac running Leopard, Snow Leopard, or a PC to be able to administer the older AirPort Express. -

Go to your "screen settings". then chose "find screen" then you vill find the prosjector.
this will probably fix your problem.
if this dont works can it be something wrong with your adapter.

Hi, I'm trying to change modems as my ISP provided modem has melted. I bought a Netgear DM111P and haven't had any success in hooking this sucker up. I'm supposed to enter details into the modem, however, I can't do this on the net because I don't have access when the new modem is connected. Has anyone got a solution???
Sorry that you are having difficulties, but I'm not sure how much help we can provide for a Netgear modem on an Apple support forum. I've posted the link for the setup manual for your Netgear model in case you do not have this handy.

You will need to connect your computer directly to the Netgear modem to setup the DM111P.
Once that is accomplished, you can connect the AirPort Extreme to the Netgear modem.
If you need help with the Netgear configuration, you should contact Netgear Support.

My HP 6500A Plus is connected to wireless network and web services but won't print email or code
I have my HP 6500A Plus connected to my wireless network and it is registered on the HP Web Services but it will not print the printer email address or code. I have followed the directions. I would appreciate your help in this matter. Dave

If your printer is telling you that it cannot connect to the server, try these steps.
1. Find your printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page.
2. Type you IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
3. Click on the network tab at the top of the page.
4. Look at the left hand side and click IPv4 under wireless.
5. Change the IP settings to Manual.
6. Enter the printer's IP address, your subnet mask, and your routers IP address or default gateway in the spaces.
7. Set the Preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8.
8. Set the Alternate DNS to 8.8.4.4.
9. Click apply.(You may need to refresh the page if it says processing for longer than a min and click apply again.)
10. Now try to print the information page.

I started having internet problems with all my devices in the house, ipod, imac, pc laptop, tablets, etc... found out after being on the phone with comcast for hours, they determined my modem that they supply was bad. So I have the new modem now and very simple to install it and get everything working. However, I cannot get online with a web browser of any sort on my imac. which had no issues before.
All my devices in the house work perfectly now with the new modem and my speeds are great, and even the imac (with the airporter) states it is connected. but I cant do anything pertaining to the internet. I have spent hours on the tech line with comcast and they cant seem to find the issue and said it is with my Imac, even though it was working fine before.
Does anyone have any ideas, is there simply something I'm missing, please help. As I stated before, everything else that we own works great and has great connection. and the Imac states it is connected, but mail, internet, non of that works...??????

IPad 2 fully connected to Wi-Fi and a VPN, but not getting any internet access
I'm on iOS 8.3 using an iPad 2, and the other day out of nowhere, I stopped getting internet connection to my iPad. I am still connected to my WiFi network as well as a VPN I was using before I lost internet connection (which is weird, as I figured I'd have lost that), and the WiFi icon is still there. I've tried multiple methods to try and fix the problem:
updating the iPad (I was on iOS 8.1 when I lost connection)
forgetting and then rejoining the network
renewing the lease under the WiFi network's settings
rebooting the iPad
turning WiFi off and on
turning airplane mode and Do Not Disturb mode on, then keeping the iPad turned off for 10 minutes (as suggested here: iPad connected to wifi, but no wifi icon and no internet access?)
unplugging and then plugging back in the router's power
turning off the VPN (it hadn't caused any problems for the week I had been using it, but I wanted to make sure)
doing a hard reset on the iPad
and NONE of these have done anything to help. I have no idea what to do now, as I can't seem to find really anymore possible solutions. Also, yes, I checked the network IP address and it doesn't start off with "169". And the iPad is the only thing that isn't getting internet access, every other device in my house is doing fine, so I don't think it's the WiFi network itself. Unfortunately I can't try connecting to another WiFi network either to see if I can still actually connect to the internet, as I live in a semi-rural area. I've never run into any issue like this in the 3 years I've had the iPad, and I have no idea what's going on. Will I need to take it into an Apple Store to have it fixed, or is there anything left I might be able to do myself?When you unplugged the router did you leave it off for at least 3.minutes? Try unplugging it again, waiting & then bootimg back up.
Try to connect your iPad again,
If you have another iOS device that is connected, check it's wifi settings under your network the IP address settings & cross compare it to your iPad 2
Some routers also have settings where you can increase allowable connections. Have you tried connecting just your iPad with no other devices connected?
if that doesn't work, I would suggest you try & find a public wifi hotspot to see if you can connect there. If not, then I would suggest your next trip be to a Genius Bar to Let Apple diagnose the issue. -
My iMac keeps on diconnecting from my network and The internet is very slow on it too.

My iMac has been acting wierd for the past month. It has been disconnecting from the internet/network and also it has a very slow speed when using Safari or any other internet application (eg. Skype). Im not sure why this is happening. My iMac has Windows installed (100GB partioned) and yet the internet is fast on it than the Mac side. On other computers and mobiles the internet is very fast, and does not disconnect. I scanned my computer and it came up with nothing.
Please Someone Help...If you connect to your router with with Wi-Fi, please try connecting with an Ethernet cable. Turn Wi-Fi off and test. Any difference?

My Internet connection is fine but everytime I turn on the computer I get an error message about my AirPort Extreme that says. "Double NAT" can I fix this or should I not even worry.

Click on the AirPort Extreme
Click the amber dot next to Status
Click the option to ignore Double NAT
Allow the settings to update and the AirPort Extreme will restart with a green light in 25-30 seconds. -
I can not connect to iswifter, some times it is connected and some time it is not connected and getting message " UNABLE TO CONNECT TO SERVER , CHECK YOUR INTERNET" but my internet connection is ok and I can open other web site with out any problem. Please guide me how to solve this issue.

Connected to the internet but cannot get online
Hi,
I am unable to actually utilize the internet with some, but not all, wireless networks. In system preferences and on the icon bar on the top of the screen, I am told that I am connected to such and such a wireless network by my airport card. Yet, I am unable to actually go to any web pages or access mail.
I am using a G3 graphite clamshell. The particular network is via linksys.
Any advice?

I can connect wirelessly to other routers just fine, and i can connect to the router in question with an ethernet cable. Other macbook and phone can connect wirelessly to the router in question.
This happened a couple of weeks ago when the router was switched off by mistake during activity. Fixed by re-installing OS and rebuilding keychain and networks. Today, same thing happened, same reason. But not fixed by same route... -

I hav a new sim, and the provider (vodafone) said there is no problems on their end. I can use the internet, but cant make calls or texts or recieve them either... please help

No I don't have any firewall that I know of that could affect the Desktop app. I have reviewed the link you sent across and the results are as follows:
1. Make sure you can connect to the internet.
Yes, internet is all good... no problems here.
2. Make sure that you can access secure sites:
Yes, I can access secure sites as tested by the example in the list (https://www.adobe.com).
3. Check your hosts file.
Test successful after going to: https://lm.licenses.adobe.com
Moving on to reset the hosts file...
I've followed the instructions and I get to "Select the hosts file and open it".
If I simply double click, then the default is to open in TextEdit.
Once open, I go to find File > Save As, but it only says, "Save a Duplicate" and then once I save a duplicate, I don't know where to save it because the Save window only shows the basic folders and I don't know how to get back into the /etc folder from the Private files.
More instructions please, if possible?

I have the same problem; tried a phone restore, both restoring data and setting up as new phone with factory settings, reset all settings, re-boot, remove apostrophe, put in fridge, you name it!
I think there's quite a few iphone 4s users with the same problem!
I called Apple they said it's a hardware problem, but it has worked for nearly two years; they say go to the Apple store and they can provide a replacement phone for approx. £150!
I've been into the O2 shop where I bought it and they knew the problem exactly; said they had sent a few phones off for repair and had them back awith a report they cannot fix it because it's a software problem!
An assistant in the shop had the same issues; logic says it's a software problem and hopefully Apple will fix it with a patch but at the moment they seem to be avoiding everyones comments!
If anyone else has any ideas these would be appreciated?
