My ipod was fine until i tried to play a song it froze then went black and it wont turn on or charge.

Have you tried a simple reset of the iPod yet? To do this, toggle the hold switch on and off, then press and hold the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears. If it doesn't work the first time keep trying.
Otherwise, if still no response, you may have to wait for the iPod's battery to fully drain. Once it has, let it charge long enough to power on and once it has, go ahead and restore it via iTunes.

For the the same reason iOS 8 won't support the iPhone 3GS and 3G. Because the iPhone 4 is obsolete.
Look at the models of iPhone Apple currently sell: iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s. No iPhone 4, it was dropped from the lineup when the 5s, 5c and iOS 7 were released. Hence iOS 7 was the last version that would run on the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4s replaced the iPhone 4 as the entry-level iPhone. Exactly the same thing will happen this Fall when the iPhone is released, the iPhone 4s will be dropped from the lineup because it is obsolete and iOS 8 will be the final version of iOS for that model. Presumably the iPhone 5c will then drop down to become the new entry level model, and it will be dropped the following year when iOS 9 is released.
New versions of software like iOS typically require faster processors, more RAM and other things to support the newer features, eventually it becomes impossible/uneconomic for Apple to keep older, slower hardware in the lineup so it is dropped and support for the latest OS versions on it ceases. So far this has happened on a very predictable schedule with the iPhone.

2) Plugged in Split Mini-Jack from daughter card slot, to Line-In Minijack (where it was before)...
3) Sound from speakers blurted out loud...
4) Screen Froze up... no Ctl-Alt-Delete...
5) Power button... No response...
6) Reset Button... No Response...
7) Unplugged...
8) Try to power on...
RES:: No signal to monitor... LED Light on case turns on for about 10 seconds... CD-rom LED turns on as if BIOS... Then computer turns off... Fans Still working...
THOUGHTS:: Since the speakers are powered through the sound card (and were on at time), then when the Split Mini-Jack Dongle from daughter card, was plugged back into the Line-In Mini-jack port (where it was origionally)... Something shorted out... Any Ideas on what, exactly...?? Anyone heard of this before...?? I've never seen something like this before, and PC's have changed SOOO much over the last few years, that I'm kinda in the dark... But this is my girlfriend's computer, and she has a Mid-Term paper due on Monday (today being Saturday), and I'm in serious trouble right now... PLEASE HELP...!!!
The company that built the computer, doesn't seem to be in business anymore...!!!

I just downloaded the newest version of Adobe Reader to my MAC, I need help now please

The End user license agreement did not appear to sign and accept. So now when I open another site to download pdfs, it says I need to launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser.

I am using JTable in my project where i am overriding the default editor to my own custom editor.
The problem is, when i am using tab key or mouse click, the cursor does not immediately move the next/clicked editable cell. I have to press the tab key twice to move to the next cell. After debugging i saw that the focus goes from the cell editor to the table and then on the second click to the next editor.
My project requires a single click/single tab key pressed to make the cells editable.
Please help..

Let me describe what is happening..
When I click tab, it moves 2 rows down, The table still highlights the next cell, but since it is not editable, I cant do anything, when I click Tab it moves to the next editable cell, which means that if the current cell is editable the table highlight moves to the next cell (which is not editable), and on the next tab it starts editing the cell.
I dont know if I made too much sense... but I reallly need help with this.

My iTunes will ONLY backup my iPhone ONCE *SO* VERY quickly, almost as if it's done nothing... (not the three options for rollback as promised) HELP! Please Read...

   thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this, but, my iTunes will perform a backup on my iPhone ONCE. By which I mean, it will do another new backup again if I want it to, and that's all fine... but it's supposed to hold (I think) THREE states of backup that the user has saved at various points in order that the user can choose and rollback/restore from whichever one they want.
There is none of that. I get the drop-down menu if I choose to restore... but it's pointless as there's only ever one option.
At the moment, no matter how close together I perform the backups, or how far apart... I get ONE backup saved in my iTunes.
As far as I can tell this is also ONE backup between iCloud or the computer. i.e. I don't get one for each. Just whichever I performed most recently.
iTunes absolutely DID NOT used to do this. I used to get the three options and it took a little bit of a wait for the backup process to go through fully.
Can anybody help or shed some light on this?
As a sidenote: It's slightly concerning that the backup process it performs is now lightning quick and it almost seems as if it's doing nothing, when in fact my iPhone is absolutely, irresponsibly rammed with everything... hence the worrying need for backups and solving this issue etc. etc.
Please can anyone help me with this, or even give a little support?
P.S. Yes, I fully anticipate being told not to have my iPhone so stuffed etc. etc. It's got about 1-2gb free and I figure you should get to use what you pay for

   I have to say, this is so weird because it's actually become this way in the past week maybe, and I'm sure me saying this here will be disputed, ridiculed and belittled, and that's absolutely fair, but I've got to say it... up until a few days ago, my iTunes sync/backup area really would keep more than one backup for my one, single iPhone. They were all timed and dated with a drop-down menu (which appeared if I clicked the restore button) to choose which one I wanted to roll back to, for example. Sure, I'd read about the three backups thing etc. etc. and perhaps I got that wrong or misunderstood, but I can honestly say, I only ever had at the most two backups, that I could drop-down and choose to restore from. They were there. Same iPhone. Different dates.
   At the time, when this seemed to be the case, the backing-up process took quite a while. I would leave it to progress while I went and made a cup of tea, come back and it still wasn't finished running. So, not really AGES, but a little while.
   Now, when I perform a backup, the progress bar almost shoots across to a finish. I'll 'fess up... that worries me most of all. I can live without the luxury of a menu of backups... but if it does it once, I'd like to be sure it does it at all.
Much more importantly though, thank you for your replies so far.
Any further input, even if it's to belittle or shame is totally welcome. I'd like to understand this a bit more.

Hi, I currently have the Blackberry model Curve 8530, and I have been trying to get the new update (the menu style like the torch) because all my other friends have the same phone and I can’t download the update. My phone and computer say that I have the update v5.0.0.973 (platform 4.2.0.422) how can I change the menu style or platform to get it like the torch or the newer blackberry menu’s, because my phone desktop manager says that the phone is updated but it is not. Is there anyway to fix this?

Problems with keyboard--Please read and help!

Ok, I have a Blackberry Curve 8320
Carrier is T-mobile
I did just do an update on my phone but the problem existed before this. Also, I have already done several battery pulls and haven't fixed the problem yet.
The original issue was that every time I pressed the B button, ALT button, or the SYM button...it would automatically type b$
However, if I hit the ALT button then anything, it would type B$
I don't know what happened but it suddenly started working correctly and I had changed my mind about posting....BUT
it started messing up again! Now, more than one of the keys are acting funny and I'm not sure why.
What is currently happening is if I hit the 'a' button, it types 'ja'
If I press the ALT button, it types b$ again and it does it sometimes if I press B but NOT consistently.
It hasn't been near any water or anything of that sort. I haven't knowingly messed with any settings but I may have by accident.
I do lock my phone before putting it in my pocket or anything else so I'm not really pressing random buttons when I'm unaware of my doing it.
Does anyone have any suggestions or guesses or a way to fix this?

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath, or a pocket when you're seating, can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
It really is more common than you think.
1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
3. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
*Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor

I seem to have gotten myself into a tricky situation. I use a Blackberry 9900 as my main phone and love it as I send hundreds of emails and hundreds of IMs, BBMs, Tweets etc everday. I've always envied the ease an iPhone offers in terms of speed, browsing on a larger screen and the far superior app store. Nevertheless I'm reluctant to fully trade in my Blackberry. I got a new job and have a lot of work contacts and my job involves photography, networking and promotion. I decided to find an iPhone 3G to use for this side of my life and so I could use Instagram. My friend told me her boyfriend had an iPhone 4S available as he now had the new Samsung 3 phone and I could get it for 'mates rates' I bought it for £250. I think it's a good price.
He told me it was locked to 3 and this wasn't a concern to me because it's a work phone I don't care which network I'm using. My Blackberry is on o2.
I purchased a micro sim from 3 for iPhone's and put it in to see it say 'No Service' I went into the 3 store and they told me I inserted it correctly and gave me te customer service number and let me use the in store phone to contact them. I gave them the phone information I received when I purchased it and they told me that the phone was blocked. I was so upset. I asked how can I unlock it as I'm now the owner and paid a fair amount of cash for it and they told me to contact the sellr and that he can call them for me and unblock it vert easily. I contacted him and he told me to try another sim and has since been no help.
He has assured me the phone is not faulty and that it was working for him. He gave me a print out of the warranty for he phone and it does not expire until Oct 16th 2012. Three insist when I called back that the phone isn't faulty but indeed blocked. I offered to give them his name and details to prove I knew the owner, but they will not accept this. I told him this is too much hassle and I would like my money back, he will not text me.
My friend, well she is saying that the phone worked just fine for them.
I don't know how to fix an iphone, I don't know if it's faulty or blocked. 3 wouldn't lie, but I didn't expect my friend would either.
Can I fix this on my own? I'm not usually impulsive and this is why :/
Is there anything I can download to unlock it on my own. It is essentially at this point an iTouch and if I wanted that I would have purchased that for less than I paid or this.
Any suggestions, advice on how to resolve this problem either with the phone or the people involved would be appreciated.

The previous carrier is the company Three. I bought the 3 sim and it didn't work so I went to my local Three shop and with the information I gave them they told me the phone was blocked. Is this the same as what you are saying?

I work for a company of a 1000 people and the owners bought everyone an ipod.
the problem is that my boss wants me to record each persons serial number to their ipod and print it out for his records.
i know that the serial number is on the back of the unit but that would take to long.
I also know that when its plugged into the ipod updater program the serial number also shows.
I would like to know if someone can build me a script that would grab the serial number to each ipod i plug in to the updater (maybe bash script, grab from string) copy it to the clip board and paste it to a text edit document. ohh and also a dialog box so i can write the persons name down. and if that can be added to the document as well.

If you still have the boxes handy, check to see if the S/N is printed on with a barcode. If so you can just zap those all in with a reader and be done with it in minutes.

What can i do about a repeated message saying I need to update my adobe reader and

Please be extremely cautious. There are some scam messages which try to get you to install Adobe Reader and some other things that may not be good for your computer.
Let's see if you really do need an update. What version do you have? Start Adobe Reader and use Help > About Adobe Reader to see the exact version (something like 10.1.2).

NEED HELP Problem PLEASE READ!!!!

*All I did was download this album because I wanna go for a run and wanted to quick throw these songs on I downloaded well they came in M4A files so I tried puting them on my ipod 2nd gen nano using Copy Trans Manger thats my ipod manager. They didn't show up so I downloaded a converter and converted all them to mp3 files now I put them on my Manager which is on my ipod.. and they acted as if they were M4A files and didn't show up.. But i converted them to regular mp3 files they shouldv'e shown up what is the problem did it not let me replace the mp3 files with the m4a already on it could that be the problem? Help please iwanna go for a run and I want these mp3's to show up on my ipod... I forgot to say it would of said do you want to replace these files so Idk if thats what happened or not*

Original not found? Big mess! Need Help now please!

Hi! I need a lot of help.
I deleted the songs off my itunes and then copied them back by using my ipod. Then, thinking everything would be fine with my music, I restored my ipod because it was messed up.
Now when I tried to sync my ipod, it does not sync the music, and when I click the , it says original file not found! I bought all these songs once and I would be devestated to have to buy them again. Please help immediately as I will be leaving tomorrow!!!

First thing to try, is booting from the restore DVD and installing a fresh copy of 10.6. If you're lucky, the 10.6.4 update just hosed your OS install, and a simple reinstall is all that's needed.
Once you've booted to the 10.6 installer, it couldn't hurt to run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu to verify the SMART status of the drive, and even run a repair disk operation on it.
If the SMART status is failed, or Disk Utility doesn't see the drive, then you're looking at a hardware failure. You'll need to take it somewhere to be fixed if it's under warranty, otherwise if you have some precision screwdrivers like a PH000 and Torx T4, you can replace the drive yourself with pretty much any 2.5" SATA drive.
