Help! I synced my iCal from my old iPhone to iCloud. It worked great. I've done this because I'm switching to a Samsung phone and need to sync my iCal to my Google calendar. In attempting to do so today, my iCal is empty. How can I retrieve my iCal info??

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".
any way to get around that?

Restore from old iPhone backup can past all data including messages to your new iPhone. Or you can resfer to this iPhone 4/4S SMS to iPhone 5 transfer tutorial. It shows you how to transfer messages only.

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Either backup the contacts in iCloud or with a compatible programme on your computer (Outlook, Windows Contacts, Address Book etc).
Once done, sync the contacts to your new iPhone from that programme/iCloud.

I recently bought an Iphone 4 and start using it right away. I had some important voice memos in there. I wanted to sync the contacts from my old iphone to my new iphone. So I did that, and it said the sync failed and the phone had to be restored. So now when I look at my phone, my new voice memos are gone. Is there any way I can recover this information?

So just to be clear, when you say "just bought" how long ago was that? Is it on this new iPhone that you had pictures, texts, etc that you want? Were you backing up to iCloud or onto iTunes?
This may not help for everything but if you go to iCloud.com and log in, are you able to find your pictures there?

I recently had to get a replacement iPhone 4. The tech at the Apple Store thought that I might have had a software problem and recommended that I not "restore from backup," but start this phone as a new device and just sync the apps and what-not. My calendar on my computer was different than the one on my old phone, though, and now I need the data from my old iPhone calendar. I did back up my old phone just prior to taking it to the Apple Store.

Well what you can do is update to ios5 then use icloud to sync your calandar up to your phone then restore your phone as new and when prompted in the new phone setup put in your icloud username and password and you will have your calandar events back.

If you have a pc, when you plug your iPad in you should see the windows pop up window offering to backup the photos. Do that and it will save all your photos and videos to your computer where you can then sync them back to your new one.
If the pop up doesn't come up, double click on my computer and navigate your way to the iPad. Double cick on it an d navigate to the DCIM folder. Drag your photos and videos to your pc, then sync them back onto your iPad.

You can only do this by syncing your calendar to an external server - MobileMe is designed for this but if you don't already have a MobileMe account you can't start one now.
If you do have a MobileMe account the method is described here:

If you don't, you could sync to Google Calendar (Google accounts are free) or wait for iCloud which should be out in a couple of months and will probably provide this sort of facility.
You might like to consider BusyCal which is like iCal Pro - similar to iCal but with extra facilities. It can sync calendars on a Lan and also between accounts on the same machine (you have to have fast user switching enabled).
There is a free trial available on their website: it's slightly cheaper from the Mac App Store. (I have no connection with this company).

I am a group exercise instructor and rely heavily on my playlists. My old phone is an iphone 4s and I just bought an Iphone 6. I also have a macbook where I keep my itunes account, but I create all my playlists on my phone. I have read other threads where the suggestion was to attach the old phone to itunes, find the phone in itunes and click the little arrow to the left to show the playlists. Then right click on the playlist and export it, saving it to the desktop, to then import it into itunes. However, in my case, the playlists do not show up when the phone is connected to itunes. I have clicked on the little arrow and all I get is "music", "purchased", etc., but none of my playlists. I'm sure some years back I probably deleted something in my itunes library and now none of my playlists show. Please help me. I would hate to have to recreate all of my playlists. Thank you!

I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

The voicemail system used for the iPhone is different from the voicemail system used on the rest of the Verizon Wireless network. you can't just move XP even if you took the hard drive and have Windows boot and function.
Apparently there are Windows tools to sanitize the OS and strip all the motherboard drivers and services.
Time to get a supported OS. Don't want to pay, then use 8 for the time until it goes on sale.
There are no drivers for even Vista on 2011 and later Macs.

You cannot. The music must be in the iTunes library first. See these User Tips:
