Help! I tried calling Apple but I don't think they know what to do.
Just purchased my brand new macbook pro about 2 weeks ago. My internet keeps coming and going, and I know it's my internet provider because I am still geting internet on the ipod touch when the internet on my macbook pro is down. It happens every hour for about 5-10 mins, I can't get any internet connection, although I get all full bar strength. I have to constantly reconnect back to my router.
What is wrong and what can I do to fix this? This is a $2,000 laptop, and I'm about ready to take it back if it continues to act this way.
I do not have snow leopard. It came out about 2 days after I purchased this. I wonder if that would fix it.
Take it back to an Apple Store and get it check out on their network. If it works fine there, the problem is in your home network.

I can't my Apple mail to work. It started when I did an up date. When I went to use mail (the little stamp at bottom) it said, "you can't use this version of mail with this version of OS X. I looked on support and was told to solve the problem by downloading combo package and security update. Did it 3 times. I did everything. Still doesn't work. I even took everything mail out of applications and the library and did those two updates and still can't get it. Could I reinstall OS X Snow Leopard and would that affect any of my documents like i photo or i tunes? I don't want to loose anything! I have spent way too long on this problem. I feel like I own PC with windows again. Please help!!!!!! Frustated
No need to reinstall Snow. Try trashing all the Mail.apps you have. (But don't empty the trash yet!) Do a search for those. Reinstall Mail from the DVD in Optional Installs. This will put Mail 4.2 in Applications, then run the Combo Update, which will update Mail to 4.5, and then the Security Update again, in that order.

I forgot my security password and didn't set up a rescue email address. I tried calling apple but they tried charging me to reset the questions. Is there an easier and cheaper way to reset them?
Probably not; if you want, you can try using this form, but will likely be told to phone instead.

I Said Personalize It, But I don't Think They listened
I recently ordered a 20GB ipod. But I'm no beginner, I've done it before, but not exactly this way.
I've never ordered the color display ipod before. I told it to personalize, (which I have done for other ipods [4G ipod, 2 ipod minis], with no problems) but i'm not sure if they did perosnalize it.
This is why: on the pother ipods I have ordered engraved, there has been the word Personalized next to the model.
However, on this ipod, there is not.
Since I am giving it as a gift, I do not want to open it.
1. I am going to wait until the recipient opens it to see if it has been personalized. (What other choice do I have?!)
2. If it turns out that it is not engraved, (and opened, of course, from the gift, although it would not be used) what should I do? How do I let Apple know and how do I get the correctly engraved one, send this one back, etc.?For what it's worth, I just bought a color iPod and had it engraved, and the word 'personalized' didn't appear next to the model. You couldn't tell from the unopened box that it has been personalized, either. However, when I ordered it online, they checked and re-checked that they'd got my personalized text right.

I was not given the option to purchase applecare + with iPhone 5.I tried calling Apple customer service, the automated process took my info but then came back and said too busy to help you now. How can I buy it now?
You should call Apple but you should get an email from Apple. I got one a few minutes ago and this is what they said about AppleCare+ :

Yesterday, I purchased Mountain Lion OSX and tried to download it but I don't think the download worked. How can I tell if I am using Mountain Lion and how do I get help if the download was unsuccessful?
Click your Apple menu icon top left corner of your screen.
From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
If Mountain Lion is installed, it will say: v10.8
If not, launch the App Store. From the App Store menu bar click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
FYI .. for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation. -
I'm a MB Pro beginner (after 25 years with PC). I have an Iomega ext HD, but how do get it indexed?, and it doesn't come up with any results I'm trying searches in Finder, and it says "searching Iomega drive" - but I don't think it's indexing. How do I force it to index?
Well I'm leaning the other way. I think my present MBP will be the last Apple product I buy.
With the way Apple is going, all New Mac computers are sealed unit that don't allow the user to upgrade them in any way. They are getting more expensive initially. They are impossible to fix, even by Apple. All the parts are either soldered to the Logic Board or glued inside the case parts. The add on warranty only covers manufacturing defects and is expensive. And to fix one out of waranty is close to if not more then a new system.
The only thing different in a Mac, and most other products Apple sells, is the operating system and the cases they come in. As for the OS both have their glitches and at this time there are no viruses that infect OS X. There is more software available for Windows. More choices as to what hardware you can use or upgrade to at a later date.
Mac computers are becoming large iPads or iPhones with built in keyboards.

I have misplaced my ipod 4th gen. It has no battery or find my ipod isn't on I'm not 100% it doesn't have wifi but I don't think it does. If anyone can help I will be very great full. Thank you.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

My MBP with RD's Facetime camera freezes when changing portrait to landscape during facetime calls on the display of the person who i'm calling to, but it shows alright on my side, what's going on?

If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
See:
Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.

You need to find out who the carrier was in Switzerland and see if they will unlock the device. The carrier with the lock is the only one that can authorize the unlock. You may need to check with the original owner and see if they can get it unlocked by the carrier if you do not qualify.

Hi I am currently have a subscription to PS CC but I don't think I have the latest version. I believe this because I don't get the new welcome screen and don't have new features like the structure and color setting in the content aware patch tool. I have checked for updates and it tells me I have the current version. I check in PS I have version 14.2.1. I also have CS6 installed on my PC, could this be somehow be doing something or am I doing something wrong. Would anyone have any suggestions.

You are experiencing Activation Lock. If the previous owner will not remove the device from their account there is nothing you can do unless the place you purchased it from will give you a refund.
