Help on Certified Documents from the Superintendent of Documents

I often review regulations and legislation that have been certified by the Superintendent of Documents. I've used Acrobat Pro in the past and was able to run OCR to at least allow for commenting/notes, highlighting text and creating my own bookmarks. If you're talking about a document that was signed with a certification signature, the signer can specify what restrictions should be enforced (e.g., "annotations, form fill-in, and digital signatures" or "No changes allowed"). So first check to see what changes are allowed by the signature, which you can determine by looking at the signature properties. Otherwise, check to see what security restrictions are in place by opening the file in Acrobat and selecting: File > Properties > Security

How & where do you get help with iTunes?

I've read the troubleshooting, and posted here, but no one seems to know enough about iTunes to answer. I can't convert video to an ipod version. I downloaded the sample.mov and tried to convert it, and I get the same result as with any other movie "Error occurred while converting the file "sample_iTunes". The required file cannot be found". I ran Filemon (Filemon monitors and displays file system activity on a system in real-time. Its advanced capabilities make it a powerful tool for exploring the way Windows works, seeing how applications use the files and DLLs, or tracking down problems in system or application file configurations. Filemon`s time stamping feature will show you precisely when every open, read, write or delete, happens, and its status column tells you the outcome) to see what file iTunes wasn't finding.
For some reason it seemed to think that mcicda.dll belongs on the desktop instead of in the system32 folder, so I copied it to desktop, and tried again. Now I still get the same "The required file cannot be found" error. The only problem is that iTunes returns a "success" for every file it searches. My movies & videos remain unconverted.
I understand that this may be beyond most peoples' technical expertise. This forum is users helping users. I tried Apple iTunes troubleshooting. It only covers one or two problems. So where are people to go when they don't have problem #1 or 2? With Windows, I can go to an official XP forum, and get help from certified windows experts. I can even get free email support with some software. But I've seen nothing of the sort from Apple for the iTunes software.
Did I miss it? Does it exist?

This has been an enlightening experience. Thanks to the both of you who took the time to answer my apparently difficult question. Katrina S. said that Apple doesn't provide support for the iTunes software because it's a free program. While I could see that if it functioned passively (as with Windows Media Player), iTunes is totally enmeshed with the optimun functioning of the ipod. It was set up to function with the ipod, which is likely why iTunes didn't work with other mp3/media players. Now the music is DRM-free, and can work with other players, but purchased video is still confined to an ipod. Itunes won't even convert the sample_.mov from its own Troubleshooting, let alone video from other sources. If iTunes is supposed to be an integral part of using an ipod, then the malfunctioning of iTunes should be an issue Apple should address. If I Google "Windows Media Player support", the 1st 4 results are from Microsoft, not from a user forum (even though the program is also free). One site even starts with "Start here when Microsoft Windows Media Player is not working how you expected". Wow, that IS support! There's no reason (aside from cheapness? dismissiveness?) that Apple shouldn't step up.
Nonetheless, I will call Apple. Nothing to lose. At worst, I'll have to initially deal with some smug person who will be yet more condescending when he finds out I have a pc and not a mac. Then, after he can't fix the problem, I'll be passed on to the much nicer, more knowledgeable tech support person. This was my experience with Apple support a couple years ago with my 1st ipod. I can go through this again if it helps. I'll let you know.
Pickles1128, I have tried this program (MPEG Streamclip [www.squared5.com])to convert movies/music videos for my ipod nano 4th gen. Now, just the "audio format not supported" excuse appears when ipod won't load the video. But this is the same result I had gotten using Moyea Video Converter. I used MPEG Streamclip with the newest Quicktime, not the Quicktime alternative program mentioned for those without QT. While this program would export the video/audio file, all options involving actually converting the file were grey-ed out and unusable. Sure, I suppose I could separately export the video & audio files in workable formats, then (currently beyond my ability), recombine them. But shouldn't programs work much easier than this?

Error 1402: Could not open key UNKNOWN\SliderCtrl.SlideCtrlProxy\CLSID

I have two users. User A wrote an application using LabVIEW 7.1, including an installer, and gave said application and installer to User B. User B has 8.0 and 8.1 LabVIEW RTE's installed properly. When trying to run the application installer, or just the 7.1 RTE installer alone, the following error occurs every time:
Error 1402. Could not open key:
UNKNOWN\SlideCtrl.SlideCtrlProxy\CLSID
I took the registry info from my machine (had 7.1 installed on it at one time; currently has 8.2 and 8.5), exported everything with "SlideCtrl" in it, imported those into User B's registry, double checked the permission in the appropriate places, re-ran ... same problem. Help?

I found the answer on my own, documenting for the next poor soul ... this was under WinXP
* Go into regedt32
* Right-click on HKCR and select "Permissions" -OR- Click on HKCR and choose Edit->Permissions
* Add the current user and set permissions for Full Control and Read.
It is NOT sufficient to give "Everyone" Full Control and Read, it needs that user id. Brilliant ... current user is not part of "Everyone".

Exchange 2007 config error SITE_3

Hello to all!
I have an Exchange 2007 server, and after some update, the attached error showing up:
It's in hungarian, it says this:
"File name: ...
Error: The next configuration route can't be recognized: ..."
This problem was in the applicationHost.config file, and in the IIS7, there was a SITE_3 site, which we couldn't open.
But we swap the applicationHost.config file with an older version from
C:\inetpub\history, regarding to this site:

The IIS is back to normal, there are no SITE_3 there, but in the Exchange management console, there is still the same error. I get this error too, when I wirte Get-OwaVirtualDirectory to the Management shell. Is there anyone, who saw something like this,

LVOOP Class Mutation

Hi, I am just starting out with LVOOP. I've read the main knowledge-base articles, had a small amount of training (on the Advanced Architectures course) and have had a play with my own classes.
I now want to use OOP for a test system, so I created a class with lots of standard data types, DBLs, arrays of DBLs, Int32s, etc. I created a load of accessor VIs and some manipulation VIs and that was fine.
Then I decided to change the name of a member in the private data control (.ctl) from "Voltage Range" to "Voltage Spread" as this is more descriptive for me. Having used clusters many times before I expected that the bundle names would simply update automatically. This is not the case. Having done some searching it would appear that this is all about class mutation. I can see why LabVIEW would want to monitor changes to the private data control but I want all my VIs to refer to the latest version of the .ctl file.
I have had a search online about this but now I am more confused than when I started as there appears to be no simple "right-click and select Update" type command.
Any help much appreciated. By the way, I am using LabVIEW 8.5.

I had a very small audio class project that works. I copied it, changed a member lable and it did not ripple through. I am also seeing black lines around my object wires for no apparent reason.
From what I can read this is something to do with default values, but I cannot find out how to fix it or what the implications are.
I doubt NI would be interested in my call as I'm using 8.5 and I'm not on any form of Software Support Programme. Maybe when I have some money to my name!

Converting from photoshop to Flash

I do cartoons with photoshop but i want to add sound to them
but for this I need flash but i cant convert those files to
flash

you can export from P'shop in a number of formats that flash
can import - but retaining layers is
not supported - maybe now that Adobe aquired Macromedia that
will change (hint hint if Adobe reads
this).

I have it and it wors great. A little pricey for some but it
has saved me hours and probably days of
work - so it was worth it for me.
otherwise you can, if you have Fireworks, open the PSD in it
and then save as and open that file in
Flash - i cant remember exactly how but i was able to retain
layers going through Fireworks once -
but transparency was hit or miss (mostly miss).
Other people have reported importing PSD files via quicktime
- but i have never had any success with
this.

how do i bend an image in flash i really cant figure it out

you can't - flash does not have an image warp feature - you
would have to do 1 of 2 things:
Trace Bitmap the image to convert it to vectors - then use
Free transform tool > Envelope or Distort
tools.
OR
Bend the image in P'shop and then import into flash.
If you need to bend the image as an animation - then flash is
not your tool - i would highly
recommend Animae Studio (www.e-frontier.com) for this (I use
it all the time). It supports IK
(Bones) and Image Warp - then export as Quicktime and Import
into flash.

How to add shortcut in the CVI editor

Hello,
I was very disappointed to discover that my dear old "Ctrl+Y" to cut a text line in the CVI editor disappeared in the latest version (it is now associated to the Redo command...).
Can I change somehow this setting or can I add new shortcuts to commands that actually do not have shortcuts ?
It is frustrating to hear a dlin-dlon instead having a line cut every time I run the for-me-automatic Ctrl+Y :-))))

Check Correct RTE Version

hallo,
just had the case, that an application built with CVI 2012 did not run on a machine with RTE 2010 installed. is there a possibility to check and echo this to the user in the kind "found version <a> but need <b>" ?

Hello Simon,
did you distribute your application in an installer package?
You can avoid possible incompatibilities by building an installer package, which contains your application the RTE 2012 that is required to run it.
(Explained here and here)
You can leave the old RTE 2010 on your target machine if you still need it, but the latest version is always fully backwards-compatible to applications built with previous versions of CVI. See here for further information on compatibility.
I think that this would also solve your question, because if you install the right RTE you don't really need to check for the installed versions...?

SWF in IE shows up like a link

I was wondering if anyone knows why when i embed a swf file
in a dreamweaver doc it shows up like a link in IE on windows? What
i mean by this is if you have say a swf banner and it is not
intended to be a link, when you roll over it your cursor treats it
like a link and a border forms around the swf. if you click it, it
ends up going away. I only see this happening in IE. Anyone know
how to get rid of this? an example can be found on this page i am
working on

as far as i have seen the scenario, its too tough to get a job as an fresher in most of the IT companies,
so according to my own experience, you have to search your job in any middle or small scale companies, if you are in any major city , then i will suggest you to look into any infrastructure or real estate company, who have just implemented sap, in your city you have to search for those infrastructure company , those having many project in our out of town, any infrastructure company having many projects in their hands generally implements SAP , and after that they needs some abaper to support their implemented projects.
You can also search your job in any small level company whom have some more branches in other states or cities, these are handy task and may take some times, but will be fruitful to you , if you will succeed in achieving your goal.
If you have any dought, please feel free to revert by specifying the city name you are looking for a job.
