Help in MB51 showing Old Material Number.

Dear gurus
Is there any way to show Old material number in MB51 ?
Please help
regards
Saad Nisar

Hi,
This field will not be displayed in MB51.
You will have to copy the programme to MB51 & take the table MARA, from where you can take the required field into the report.
This programme can then be assigned to z report (For example - ZMB51).

  • How to set a default value in MARA field 'Old material number'

    Hello everyone,
I have a requirement to fill automatically the field MARA-BISMT (Old material number), when creating a new material (using for example MM01). What is the best way to do it?
My idea is to have somewhere a field exit (?) with some ABAP lines to concatenate the material type code with part of the material number, and show the field already filled when in 'Basic data 1' screen.
Does anyone have an idea? Or an example in the system with a similar functionality already implemented?
    Thanks
    Davide

    hi
use the same logic in the excel file and upload through lsmw

  • Report by old material number

    Dear Gurus,
Is there any std report which will display all materials with reference to old material number.

    Hi,
There is no any such standard report.
But you can achieve your requirement by a simple SQVI using MARA table only.
    Hope this will help you

  • Identification of old material number at plant level

    Dear All,
We are implementing SAP for  two hospitals. In legacy system each hospital as its own material master and material number. Now in SAP each hospital we are treating as a plant. These two plants are assigned to one company code.
So it means that there will be one unique material number for two hospitals. Now business wants their old material number (which is maintained differently for two Hospitals) at plant level in search functionality
How can I achieve with material master
    Regards
    Subhash

create a class "OLDMAT" for old material number with CL03 for class type 001
define a characteristic for old material number for each plant  with CT04 and assign it to the class  (can as well be done from within CL03). name it e.g. OLDMXXXX (XXXX = plant number)
in MM01 select classification view and add the class. after you hit enter you get the fields to add the old material numbers
Standard F4 help for a material number allows then to search for a material number by classification.

  • Want to Update the Old Material Number

    Hi all,
I have Old material number (MARA-BISMT) and i want to update the table - MARA in SAP, please tell me ways of updating the same.
    Any suggestion welcome.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Write a program which does the updating. In the pgm:
define 2 internal tables called it_mara and it_mara1 like mara.
select * from mara into it_mara where (give 1 condition which relates to ur requirements).
    loop at it_mara.
change it_mara and move the changes into it_mara1 table.
    endloop.
now it_mara1 would have all the modified entries which needs to be updated in the MARA table.
now give the "modify mara from table it_mara1"  statement which updates the already existing records in the DB table.
    Reward points if helpful.
    Thanks,
    Archana

  • Report to find a material by a mfr part number and old material number

    Hi,
Is there any standard report to find a material by a mfr part number and old material number ?
For the moment, we are using MM03 to search articles by these selection criterion.
    Thanks,
    Julien Girard

    Hi
As there is no stsndard report use the SQVI to find out the details, It is very simple , please follwo the below steps.
Use Txn SQVI, enter the Quick view field say- ZMNFR and click the  create button, Enter the title in the next screen i.e Report name- Say - Manufacturer's Part No. Details, in the same screen you need to enter  MARA  for the data from table/database view, please leave the 1. data source as Table only and the radio button as Basis mode only.  Click the tick mark , you will go to the next screen,
You will notice Quick viewer Intial screen
Open the node general material data
Select the Buttons besides the fields MARA-MATNR for material number, MARA-MFRPN for manufacturers part number, and MARA-BISMT for old material number. You can include any other field if you wish to have in your output. You will notice two check boxes against each field, one is for input screen field and the other is for outputf field. But currently you do not bother about and select both the check boxes or any other field you wish to have as input and output as well. Once selected all the fields afer clicking the check boxes save the total arrangement. and then in the same screen use the execute button or use F8 to find out your report input screen.
Now enter the Material number for which you wish to know other two details in the report and execute again you will find the report output.
Please ensure that you are maintaining both the details in material master basic data1 and purchasing  view if you wish to get  out output
    Best regards

  • Old material number - Field in Basic Data 1 View Material Master

    Hai Techies,
We have a field called old material number - MARA-BISMT in material master basic data 1 view. Is that field is just for reference of old material or does it have any effects in the SAP MM when using the material for purchasing or in BOM or so on.
Could any one please highlight me the consequences of using this field to refer a old material number for the new number created.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards,
    Kris.S

    Hello Kris,
Number under which you have managed the material so far or still manage it,
for example, in another system or in a card index.
You can use the old material number to systematically search for material
    master records via matchcodes.
Your understanding for the use of this field is correct.
    regards

  • Stock Uploading with respect to Old Material Number of Legacy System

    Hi Experts,
    Need Your valuable Inputs,
As we are Going Go-Live in ECC6.0
As we have already Uploaded Material Master with the New Material Number (Internal Number Range generated by system )   Material Type, Valuation Class and Moving average indicator and related Fields in Material Master in ECC 6.0.with respect to old material number of Legacy system,
Now we need to Upload the Stocks and Values with respect to Old Material Number by Using 561 Movement Type in the New system of ECC 6.0 , This New material number and old material number Stock and its Values should match in the New ECC 6.0 .
As from the Old Legacy system we have only Old Material Number, Description and its stock, Value, How can we Upload the Stock with respect to Old Material Number ?
    Kindly assist your Inputs.
    Best Regards
    Javeed Ahamed

you have to have a mapping from old number to new number.
you can either do it already in your source or you find the number in SAP itself with an ABAP command.
Usually the old material number is stored in field MARA-BISMT
if you want add the number in the source, assuming its Excel, then you you can download via SE16 from MARA just 2 fields: MATNR and BISMT. in Excel you can then use the formula VLOOKUP to get the MATNR by looking it up with old number.
if you are a little familiar with ABAP, and you load stocks by using LSMW, then you can easily get the new material number by adding an ABAP statement to find a material number by old number
select single  MATNR from mara into wa_MATNR
    where BISMT = oldmaterial.

  • Lync User Phone Number Changed in AD - Still Showing Old (Normalized) Number Days Later in Lync Client Contact Detail

Environment:  Lync 2013 backend; Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 clients.  Enterprise Voice not implemented.  November 2013 CU Applied on Server.
Issue:  Lync user (User A) phone number changed in AD but still showing old number for others days later.
Believed Cause:  User A has not logged into Lync since change to republish new phone number?
So after reading this http://masteringlync.com/ I am beginning to think that something I perceived as an issue may actually be by design?
    Action:
User A work phone number changed in AD.  User A has only one phone entry in AD.  Normalization rule in place to basically leave number unchanged (working)
    Result:
New phone number propogated fine to Exchange/Outlook fine.  Old number displaying only in Lync client when viewing User A contact card detail
Lync 2010 Client displays only old number when looking at Client A contact detail (this client only presents phone numbers if they are actually normalized)
Lync 2013 Client displays two work numbers.
One that we identify as a "display number" just as entered in AD - this shows correctly as the new number.  Another that we identify as the "normalized number" which is still the old
    number (same as 2010 Client)
Same results whether contact is saved in Lync Client or not and is not related to Outlook contacts - in fact one test was with a Lync account that is not Mail Enabled.
I did a dbanalyze to view the SQL database detail for User A and see that Category 'userInformation' has the old phone number and the time stamp on it seems to coincide with a Lync Cllient database change (user login or refresh on that end) so this seems
to futher confirm my findings thus my reaching the point of conceding it might be out of my control.
My Question I guess is ....
Have others discovered this?  Is this a bug or do normalized phone numbers actually requre a client login to accept/republish the number correctly to others even though the information is updated in AD?  User detail and how it propogates seems to
be the biggest mystery and it gets harder and harder to explain to users why changes aren't displaying accuralely.

Thanks Richard... your blog definitely hit home with what I was seeing but guess I just didn't want to accept that as the end of the road on this.  I'm still in a little misbelief that client interaction is necessary to update a backend change.
This process really makes phone numbers in Lync an unreliable source given a user will never know if it is it up to date.  And the problem with Lync 2013 client is it shows both numbers in the client ... the address book one with the
updated AD numbers and the one the normalized AD one that the user has to login to republish.  I now more fully understand the process but trying to explain that to users when they see different work numbers .. ugh.
Oh well, guess the important part is to understand the process so thanks again.

  • Help! Retrieving an old telephone number

I have just started renting a house, a very old one which has been in the same family for many years. The property has had the same telephone number for 3 generations. For reasons that are too complicated, there was a gap between the last tenant keeping the number and me taking it over.  BT cut the line off and won't give me the old number.  How can I retrieve this old number?  It's v important. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum You could try ringing the service dept on 0800 800 150 and requesting a number change, there will be a charge for this. Then ask if the number you want is available they should be able to check if it is available. Do you know if the number is spare? have you tried to call it?

  • Have to maintain a specific number apart from material number in MMR

    HI All,
We have a specific number(X) for some materials that we want to enter in a material master, and when we create a sales order that number(X) along with material number should populate in sales order.
is there any field provided by sap to fulfill this requirement.

There is no standard SAP fields provided to handle your requirements in the material master.
    You may need to use any of the unused fields in the material master. Following options I could think of;
    1) Use of Old material number field (MARA-BISMT). But this field will not flow into sales order. You may go with an enhancement to add this field in the sales order -> item level.
    2) Use of basic text or sales text from the material master. You need to add addtiional text type in sales order -> item text level in t.code VOTXN. By this way, when a number is maintained in the material master text field, this will automatically gets copied into sales orders.
    3) Use of EAN/UPC field (MEAN-EAN11) field. I am not in favor of using this field as this may be needed in other purposes like electronic transmission of data with government entites. If this field is not used in your business, you can think of this also.
Using any of the above may eventually need development of customized report for your final reporting requirement. I am not sure whether any standard report will provide the details on what you are looking for.

  • Consignment material number  problem

    Hi
    Please help
It was noticed the material number 2000XXXX was keyed as consignment which was wrong.
The right consignment material number should have been Z03520553 and I would appreciate if someone let me know on hot to make a change to reflect on Z03520553 and maintain 20007890 as normal stock.

The material number does not decide whether the material is a consignment material. If this is the case in your company, then it is just an internal rule, a kind of policy, which seems not even be supported by a user exit, otherwise you would not have the problem that you have.
The process defines if a material is used for consignment, e.g. the item category in the purchase order and  the info record type
for sales process it is the sales order type and its item category.
Based on this info you should be able to tell exactly at which point you have a "wrong" material number.
in case of purchasing info record ýou need to flag the info record for deletion and then you can archive it.
