Please Help Me ASAP!
im not like lierally dieing but i do need help urgently with Final Cut!
I am trying to capture my video from the camera and the message pops up that says "Insufficient Disk Space Remaining in the Capture Scratch".
So I have 2 questions:
1) What does it mean
2) What do I do to fix it?
im cluless here guys! any input asap would be so greatly appreciated! thanks
Ben

It means that you do not have sufficiant space on your scratch disk to capture your video.
What have you designated as your scratch disk? Which drive? Get Info on that drive to see how much space you have available. When you Capture, your Capture Window will give you info on how much space your drive has, and how much video (in time) you put on it
The solution is to get more space. Like clearing stuff off your drive or getting a new one
If you are capturing video to your system drive, in other words, this is your scratch disk, this is not reccomended. Designate another drive, either internal or firewire external as your scratch disk.
For more info on the scratch disk and how to target it, consult your FC manual and online help

  • Insufficient disk space remaining in the capture scratch

I’m using a PowerBook G4, 1.25GHz processor with 2 GB DDR SDRAM whit Final Cut Express version 3.5.1. I tried to capture footage from my camera and received a message, “insufficient disk space remaining in the capture scratch.” I moved all the files: Audio render files, Autosave vault, Capture scratch, etc to a new folder on my desk top, but still get the same message when I try to capture. To capture, I click the play button on the screen; hit the mark in button at the point I want to start and the mark out button at the end. Then I click the clip button followed by the ok button on the log clip dialogue box. The program then goes through what I assume to be the capturing process leading to the error message. How do I overcome this? Thank you.

    Hi Geoffemn
The solution is to buy an external hard disk. Save the files to that. It does nothing to move the files from AV or scratch disk to a folder on the desk top. It still uses the same amount of space on the Power Book's HD. Of course you can look over current files on the HD and delete ones not needed. But that's a temporary fix. Large HD's have come way down in cost per GB. Go buy one. It should run at a speed of at least 7200 RPM and have firewire.

  • Insuffiecient dis space remaining in the Capture Scratch message.

Adding insult to injury, I'm now getting the message, "Insuffiecient dis space remaining in the Capture Scratch" when I try to capture a clip which is 00:03:47:00. I have more than 700 gig available on the external drive, which is where my capture scratch resides.
Wouldn't it be great to get over this hurdle, so I can get on with my day.

Figured it out. I had typed 1000000 in the minimun open space field. I'm still saving for the external drive.

  • Deduplication: There is insufficient disk space to perform the requested operation

    Hello,
on my Win2012R2 Fileserver is a 550GB disk with userdrives.
I startet Data Deplication but after 100 Optimized Files the job stopped and I cannot start it again.
If I check the Event Log I find:
Data Deplication could not initialize change log under \\?\Volume{ID}}.... The error code was 0x8056530a, There is unsufficient disk space to perform the requested operation. (Event ID 4119)
Then I tried to unoptimize the files with Start-DedupJob -type Unoptimization -volume "E:" but I got another error:
HRESULT 0x8056533a, This kon will not run at the scheduled time because it requires more memory than is currently available.
On the 550GB disk I have about 140GB free diskspace.
The server have 8GB RAM and use 2,3GB at the moment.
    CPU is at 0-2%
SYSTEM have full access on the drive, there is no SWAP or boot file on it.
    Any more ideas?
    I already tried a reboot... ;)
    Thanks.

  • Acrobat X Pro Error when Save As JPEG: Insufficient Disk Space to Perform Operation

Using Acrobat X Pro when trying to save a PDF as an Image - JPEG format, the Acrobat application fails with an error: "Acrobat could not save a page in this document because of the following error: Insufficient disk space to perform the operation (Page 1)". Please help with a solution to this problem. The problem is not because of insufficient disk space on my PC.

    Thank you for the reply.
Please can you help with the location of the TEMP folder and which temporary files to delete (file type/extension). Each of the these folders include an "Adobe" Folder. Each "Adobe" folder size is less than 1MB.
I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit. I have the following Adobe Acrobat applications installed: Distiller X, X Pro and Reader XI. Is this combination perhaps causing the problem?

  • CSA MC insufficient disk space

    Hello!
There is a little problem - low disk space on CSA MC machine. Shrinking database doesn't help. And backups store on anouther logical disk so they don't take free space.
As I understand the way is to "move" all CSA MC database to anouther machine by reinstalling CSA MC with "Remote Database" option. Am I right? So is there different ways to move CSA MC database files without reinstalling product?
    Thank you,
    Ann

To free Up Disk Space on CSA MC (Insufficient Disk Space Event)
Use the following procedure to shrink your database files and log files and increase the amount of free disk space on your CSA MC system. If your CSA MC event log contains an "insufficient disk space" message, this is an appropriate procedure for freeing up space.
Delete old log files and old CSA MC database files
Step 1 Stop the CSA MC and agent services.
From a command prompt window, type the following commands:
    net stop Cisco Security Agent
net stop Cisco Security Agent MC
Step 2 Access the CSCOpx\CSAMC\db and CSCOpx\CSAMC\cfg folders and delete old database files with names such as: csamc.mdf.Vm.n.0.ddd, csamc_log.ldf.Vm.n.0.ddd, csamc_volatile_data.ndf.Vm.n.0.ddd.
Caution DO NOT delete files csamc.mdf, csamc_log.ldf and
csamc_volatile_data.ndf. (Files with no old version number suffixes.)
Step 3 Access the CSCOpx\CSAMC\log directory and delete old log files of the form csamc.nnn.
Step 4 Start the CSA services. From a command prompt window, type the following commands:
    net start Cisco Security Agent
net start Cisco Security Agent MC

  • Copy script pauses and fails to complete when it encounters insufficient disk space

I'm trying to get a script running that will copy the latest full backup and incrementals to a USB device. I have got the script working OK in so far as it identifies the latest backup and copies all the correct files (hurrah!), the problem is I can't get
the error handling to work correctly. I have it working so it detects if no files are copied but in the event that insufficient disk space is detected the copy pauses waiting for the user to insert another device to copy to and press enter, this means that
the error handling part of the script never runs so I never receive the alert that this has happened.
This is the script so far:
    =================================
    pushd "\\nas\backup\bit-cw backup"
    for /f "tokens=*" %%a in ('dir /b /od *.spf') do set newest=%%a
    set noext=%newest:~0,-4%
    xcopy "\\nas\backup\bit-cw backup\%noext%*" "E:\" /y /c > %temp%\error.txt
    find "0 File(s) copied" < %temp%\error.txt > nul
    if %ERRORLEVEL% EQU 0 (
eventcreate /SO "XCOPY" /T Information /L System /ID 999 /D "No files were found to copy."
find "Insufficient disk space on current disk" < %temp%\error.txt > nul
    if %ERRORLEVEL% EQU 0 (
eventcreate /SO "XCOPY" /T Information /L System /ID 999 /D "Insufficient disk space on current disk."
    del %temp%\error.txt
    popd
    =================================
I assume that I need to edit the xcopy line to somehow get it to terminate when it encounters a disk with insufficient space but I can't figure out how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Using robocopy instead of xcopy (with /r:0 /w:0) will solve your problem.

  • Insufficient disk space error on iPhoto 9.5.1 using iOS 10.9.4.

I am trying to import around 12,000 photos from an old computer and have so far imported 4,000.  There are over 300 gigabytes free on the computer, and when I go to transfer more photos over I get the "Insufficient Disk Space" message and the photos do not transfer.  All of the solutions I have found online are outdated, so I was wondering how to solve this problem now?
    Thanks!

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Try to import a new batch photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
If it doesn't then give this a go on your existing library:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
    2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • Trying to open: ".... insufficient disk space..." (?)

I've just downloaded Mainstage 3, and in trying to open I get the message:
"There is insufficient disk space to install the basic content.
Delete unnecesary file from the hard disk and empty the Trash."
    OK, so:
    - how much room is needed to open Mainstage 3?
    - I don't want the additional Apple Loops, etc. seeing as I can use what's come with Logic and GarageBand. Can Mainstage install without having to install the additional content?
    - can Mainstage be 'tricked' into opening without searching for any additional content or something like that?
    Thanks all!

It is mentioned in the App Store:
Minimum 5GB of disk space (35GB of optional content available via in-app download)
Without that content you would end up without the sounds/instruments, that doesn't really make sense. MainStage doesn't download the Apple Loops.

  • Error message: insufficient disk space in the capture scratch

What does it mean, and how do I change it? I have two hard drives in the machine, one of them is almost full, and the other has 700 gb of space left.

It means that whatever drive you have set as the capture scratch drive now is too full to capture media to...and you need to switch to the other drive. You do this in the SYSTEM SETTINGS...

  • CS6 Bridge Insufficient disk space error when on the domain

We have a windows domain enviroment, and we run iMacs for the design team.  Using the newest Mac OS X we get the "Insufficient disk space to complete this opperation " error after loading images in Bridge and then try to change or saved them.  When we are not connected to the domain, we can modify and save them locally fine.  But once we log onto the Windows Domain (we have mapped drives using SMB links for storage) you can not use Bridge.  Is this a cashing issue with the mapped drives or is this something else.  I've only seen one other post on this and there was never a real fix.
They could use Brige fne on CS5 using the previous version of MacOS(in facct they still have to right now).  So i'm not sure if it is a Mac os issue or a windows/mac issue.  From what I understand the two macs (older laptop and newer laptop) are set up the same way with the mapped drives using the same Domain log in so the preferences are the same.
The new mac is loaded with an i7, and 16gb ram, and plenty of drive space so I know its not that.
    Thanks for any help

    Anybody have any ideas?
Not many here now about network set ups. Bridge is not designed for use over a network and also officially not supported by Adobe.
Bridge also uses a user specific library for its cache data.
This guy used to hang around here and has a successful set up for a network, try his blog:

  • What does error message when trying to burn DVD from iDVD mean "not enough disk space to burn the remaining assets"

I created a DVD in idvd and now when trying to burn to DVD using external burner, I get the error message
"not enough disk space to encode the remaining assets". I am using a brand new blank DVD.
I have read the help info on computer but hasnt proved helpful.
    Any suggestions?

iDVD requires a fair amount of disk space to carry out the encoding process; depending on your project, you may need to have over 25 GB free space on your startup hard drive.  How much free space do you have?
