HELP...iPod nano (first generation) skipping songs, then....frozen

I need some advice. I have a 1st generation nano, (I also use it with the Nike + if that matters), it was skipping songs, and just playing whatever it wanted, so I just restored it, and now it is froze on the screen "language". I have also tried to reset it by holding down the centre and menu button. Diagnostics tells me "iPod connection status" is the problem, now it is not coming up or being recognized by my itunes. I am running all of the current software. Is it time for a new iPod?

Well, fate intervened and my nano is feeling much better! Poof, just started working! Oh well!

Ipod nano first generation

I wanted to exchange my old Ipod nano first generation, so I requested the box from Apple to put my old Ipod Nano inside.
Unfortunately the box never arrived and when I try to order it again it says the serial number of that Ipod has already been used.
Now I try to find a way to contact the right Apple department to order a new box. Does anybody know an Email adress? Thank you.

Problem making playlist ipod nano first generation

I have an ipod nano first generation, version 1.1.3, and after it crashed it went back to the original settings, but now I can't seem to make playlists anymore, in addition to the standard 'favorites', 'recently played', etc.. Can somebody tell me to make playlist on an ipod first generation 1.1.3 with itunes 11.0.1?

ipod is recognised by itunes, but . . .
Itunes can't recover ipod . . . ipod must be formatted
but i tried . . . and my pc said that ipod can't be formatted . . .
I tried to reinstall original CD with ipod and itunes software . . .. nothing
I updated Itunes to 10.3.1 version but never changed . . .
I updated ipod to 28-06-2006 version (the last one I found) but it asked itunes version 7

hi i was just asking if anyone knew if it was possible to get an update for a ipod nano first generation that allows you to have "search" and the scroll by letter function on the new ones. I have updated my ipod nano all the way to the most recent one, but there is no search function or fast scroll.

Unless your iPod is one of the Late 2006 upgraded 30GB or 80GB iPods or a 2nd Generation Nano, you don't have the search function. It was not added to existing devices in any of the subsequent updates.The original versions cannot be updated to the specification of the later versions.

IPod Nano (7th Generation) skipping throughout current song

So my iPod Nano (7th Generation) is skipping during just about every song that I play. The current song that I will be listening to will remain playing, but it will constantly skip throughout that same song (may sound weird... I know) unless I change to the next song or restart that current song over again. It could be a defect but I'm not 100% positive what it is. Someobdy please help me!!! Thanks

Looks like I might have fixed it. I reset to the factory default and then made the iPod do a re-start before I re-synced my songs. So far so good.

Ipod Nano First Generation Recall - Serial Number Already Submitted

I went to the link to check if my ipod nano first gen was under the recall. I entered the serial number and it said it was. I closed the browser to complete the process at a later date. Now, when I enter my serial number, it states that my "serial number has already been submitted for the program" and it won't let me do anything.
Please help! I wanted to email Apple, but every time I go to support and use my serial number, it shows an error.

I don't have my iPod nano first generation because the battery exploded. How can I have it replaced in the recent iPod Nano Replacement Program?

I took the inflated iPod to the Apple Store where a genius said that the battery had expanded and it was no longer safe to use. He said that sometimes happens with electronics and that I should dispose of it. Although disappointed with that answer, I took it home where I then recycled it. Anyway, now Apple is replacing this model of iPod Nano with the exact problem of problems with the battery. However, I feel that it is a little late because the people who have already spent money replacing their exploded nanos have disposed of their first generations and cannot benefit from the program.
Don't get me wrong, I have been extremely satisfied with Apple in the past and even in the present. However, I am unable to contact Apple to get help with this problem since I don't have a serial number. I'm frustrated!

IPod Nano. I Shuffle songs then resets by its self

I put my iPod nano to shuffle then i skip a song and then it resets by its self.

It may not solve the problem, but just turn shuffle off when you're listening to your music so that you can hear it, at least.

Ipod nano first generation trade in

I filled in the form for the trade in for the first generation ipod, 14-11-2011.
In the email that I received from Apple stated, that Apple will send within two working days a box to return the Ipod.
Unfortunately untill today I did not receive anything.
Where can it have been gone wrong?

A number of users have reported calling Apple (you can too, from the phone numbers on this page) and being told that they have been overwealmed by the number of nano owners needing shipping materiels. I suspect all you need to do is wait a little bit.
Be sure to stop using the iPod nano immediately as Apple recommends.
