Help, itunes doesn't want to work with airtunes and my airport express!

Strangely specific problem with playing itunes using airtunes. Just connected an Airport express to my time capsule. All the software and firmware is up to date, and I'm streaming from itunes to an airport express connected to a stereo. My itunes is on a laptop. My library is on the time capsule. Almost everytime the song changes, the audio drops out and stays out until I pause and replay the song. It's the weirdest thing. There are no random audio drops, just a failure to keep playing when the song switches (and it doesn't happen every time, just some of the time). This is similar but not the same as the problems other folks are having with airport express and itunes audio drop outs. Does anyone have a solution?

Problem solved. Upgrading to most recent itunes relased yesterday seems to have fixed the problem.

Airport Express + iTunes 10 not working with Airtunes, but 2nd Airport does

Hey,
at first I have to excuse myself for my English, i come from Germany.
I looked around in the topics but i didn't find anything that helped me.
I own 2 Airport Express stations since nearly a year.
One of it creates a Wi-Fi network and is connected to a switch, which is connected to the internet.
The other Airport Express is set up as repeater and everything works fine, even Airtunes.
But then i noticed, that the Wi-Fi creating one was not able to work with Airtunes, which it was some weeks ago. I think this has something to do with iTunes 10. The other Airport works well with Airtunes with the same Macbook and speakers.
So I made a new set up on the Wi-Fi Airport, because some guys reported, that the problem would disappear then, but it didn't.
But I wondered why my iPhone 4 is now abled to play music via Airtunes with the new iOS 4.2.1 on the "broken" Airport, because my mac was not abled to do so and I thought of returning it to the Apple Store.
So how do i get this thing running again? I would like to use both of the Airports to listen to music in different rooms with my Macbook.
I would be glad for any help, thanks in advance

First open up the airport utility and see if both AE's show up. If not:
This would be my guess, unplug them both for 10 seconds, plug the network creating one back into the wall, them plug the second one back in after the first has a green light. If that doesn't work, "manual setup" and looking for the option that allows speaker sharing.
Finally if that doesn't work reset them, recreate the network reviewing the the advanced settings in "manual setup" and looking for the option that allows speaker sharing.
Does anyone know how to get movie audio to play through the airport express? I really want this to exist my wife's laptop speakers are awful and I would love to have the audio streamed to my airport express.

I'm pretty sure that all Bose speakers will work with the iPhone, unless they are very old and still have Firewire charging ports. Check the model number with Bose to be sure; they are a very supportive company.

I just had the similar issue. I redeemed my iTunes gift card then went to download something and was asked for my billing info. I completed the information and I think accepted terms and then had a pop-up telling me that my my account would be debited with the purchase. My VISA (billing info) did not appear to be charged as my gift card amount showing in the top right decreased with the purchase. So I just completing the information and hopefully it will happen the same for you! Good luck!

Bt Home Hub (fibre optic) can it work with my Time Capsule & Airport Express?

I have just moved house after having no problems for years with my virgin cable I have now had to switch to Bt because cable is not available at my new address therefore I would like first and foremost to have my Time Capsule available to use as a hard drive, I am not too bothered about wi-fi as that comes from the bt hub, only thing is I am at a loss how the Time Capsule hard drive is not working. Also is there anyway the Bt Hub can connect/link to Time Capsule or even Airport Express.

Your TC can be used bridged to the BTHub.. and plugged in by Ethernet.
It is best to still use the TC wireless for the express to extend and you will find access easier.
Always best to start with a factory reset when you do this.. The TC remembers too much from its last configuration.

ITunes doesn't want to work. Help please?

I'm not sure what version of iTunes I have but I got a new iPod touch and it says I need "iTunes 10.5 or later" but I already have it downloaded and when I tried to install it, it said "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified." And i'm not sure what i can do to make it work.
And i have Windows Vista just in case that helps.

this is something to do with your firewall settings which is preventing your system while installing itunes, better to get a technician if you are not good technically as you may have to disable a few options in your firewall settings

Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD doesn't want to work with new MacBook Air

I have a (pre-unibody) MacBook Pro and a Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD. I just picked up a MacBook Air with a MiniDisplay Port to DVI adapter. The monitor works fine with my older Pro but when I connect using the adapter to my Air, the monitor doesn't work. The monitor momentarily lights up and complains that it's not receiving a signal.
Any ideas?

I have a 13" MacBook Air (2011), using a mini display port to HDMI with a P2770HD, and I just cannot get the air to detect the display, or vice versa.

Video cable doesn't want to work with dock

I bought a video cable to connect my Touch 2G to my tv. I originally bought a component cable, but it wouldn't pass a signal through my switchbox. My tv has only 1 component input and it would be a major P.i.t.A. to swap cables back and forth, so I took it back and bought a composite cable. I hooked it directly to my tv and it works great. Then I bought a universal dock and hooked it up to the video cable, but now it won't play on my tv.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Here is some more information. My dock model is a1256 or MB125G/B depending on whether I'm looking at the unit or the box. When I'm hooked up directly to the cable for music, the volume slider is gone and I can control the volume through my stereo receiver. When I hook the dock to my a/v cable and I dock my ipod, the volume slider is present when I play music, as if it was hooked up to headphones or usb. So I'm certain that the ipod is not passing the same amount of data through the dock to the a/v cable. I suspect this may be a problem with the dock, but can't find an answer anywhere.
Any help is appreciated

If you have the HP 2605dn printer attached to the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) (or any router) by Ethernet, then the AEBSn is NOT performing as a Print Server. Instead, the printer itself would have to be configured to provide this service.
I don't have this particular printer, but I do have a network-ready HP Officejet model that I have my network clients (Macs, PCs, & even Linux) connect to. The key is either using the unit's interfact panel to configure the appropriate network settings specific for your network.

Working with NTSC and PAL

So I'm editing a live concert and the director wanted to work with iPhones and DSLRs so I asked them to all film in 30fps (as iPhones only do NTSC at 30fps) but they forgot and now I have to edit with 25fps (PAL) and 30fps. I've multi-camed the four 25 files (so the project is in and got a decent cut but now I'm trying to sync the two 30 files to the project. I've thrown them in the timeline and applied Rate Conform but it's reading the 30 files as 24s so it's applying a "24 to 25" conversion instead of a "30 to 25" conversion resulting in it being even worse out of sync...
How do I manually tell Rate Conform that the files that I want to conform to 25 are 30 not 24?
Also, is there any chance I can add the two 30 files to the multicam to make it easier to cut? Can I just add them or will I have to start the multicam file over again?

1) adding 25fps material to a 30fps timeline AND 'conform speed' will speed-up this clips, NOT make'em synch! to add 'any' fps to a project, FCPX will care, to keep a second = a second - independently of fps. Or, in other words: clips are synch automatically. 'conform speed' is e.g. to create slowmo by conforming 60fps reecording to a 24fps timeline ......
2) what makes you believe iPhone is 30fps? iOS devices offer a 'variable' fps, under low light conditions, the fps can drop down to 18fps, 15fps .... worse: vary within a clip, weird stuff like 21.67fps! I'm not surprised, FCPX identifies iPhone recordings as 24fps - most probably they ARE 24
3) before import to FCPX, I would 'convert' iPhone recordings with Mpeg Streamclip to a 'steady' clic; open recordings, repair timecode, export as prores/30fps
(and, just to mention: frame-rate ≠ NTSC/PAL ; and iPhone can not record in NTSC nor in PAL ......)
