Help:JDeveloper 9.0.3 with xml

Hi,
I am trying to use JDeveloper 9.0.3 preview with our web application. Our web application internally uses IBM's xml parser. I put IBM's xml library into JDeveloper's Project Settings->Configurations->Development->Libraries, but the ide still throws class not found exception. I even tried to replace the xml libraries coming with JDeveloper (under j2ee\home\lib) with IBM's, but it doesn't work. Could anybody give me some hints?

Thanks for the response.
1. The complete path to the IBM XML library is: e:\leonard\common\lib\xmllibs.jar
2. The compilation is successful. It has zero errors. In our application we try to use the IBM xml parser in the following way:
Parser parser = ParserFactory.makeParser("com.ibm.xml.parsers.SAXParser");
At runtime, it throws ClassNotFoundException: com.ibm.xml.parsers.SAXParser
3. I attached the java command and the exception at the end of this email.
4. Since you are from the JDev team, I want to ask a couple more questions regarding jdev 9i. It's a good tool, but I feel it's kind of buggy now. Here are the problems I found, hope you won't agree with me:
a. If I have a java file has duplicate import, like:
import com.abc.SomeClass;
import com.abc.*;
I will have problems when I try to use SomeClass.
b. After I remove some java files from my hard disk, it still show up in the workspaces even I clicked refresh a hundred times. I have to close the project and create a new one to get rid of it.
5. Moreover, assume I am using class A, and class A uses class B, is there a way I can directly go to the definition of class B in the editor?

The steps you described look correct. Assuming that the library was configured correctly I can think of another possible cause: something else is missing.
Can you please provide me with the following:
+ complete path to the IBM XML library
+ enable Show Compile Progress under the Compiler panel in the project's properties and compile the project. In the log window you can see the compilation command. I would like to have a look at it.
+ when starting the project tje java command is shown in the log window. A copy of that string would be helpful, too.

I would start as simple as possible, for example with
something like
this:

<term>...</term>

Of course it also depends on what you want to do with this
structure and
if you need additional informations.

There's no real rule-of-thumb whether to use elements or
attributes.
If unsure, use elements.

The problem doesn't lie with your feed, although it does contain an error - you have given a non-existent sub-category. You need to stick to the categories and sub-categories listed here:

Subscribing to your feed from the iTunes Store page work as such, but the episodes throw up an error message. The problem lies with your episode media files: you are trying to stream them. Pasting the URL into a browser produces a download (where it should play the file) of a small file which does not play and in fact is a text file containing (in the case of ep.2) this:

Help with XML - AS 3.0

Hello everybody. I decided to start working with XML since it allows me to load assets externally and edit my applications later very easily without having to edit the fla file itself. So today I watched and read a few tutorials and now I'm trying to build an Event Scroll, all through XML and AS 3.0 code. Basically what I want is to have several events inside a movieclip which I will incorporate into a scroll pane when I'm done, for now I'll focus on extracting data from the XML file and parsing it with AS 3.0. The layout is simple: a thumbnail image on the left, and beside it on the right there is the title of the event, its date and some info about it and all of these should have a dark grey background while the text is in white. Each two events are 30 pixels apart and there are 5 events for now.

oh I've just noticed one little problem, in my info field, the text doesn't break and start a new line, it just keeps going horizontally although I've set it to multiline and gave it a width and height... so what shall I do to fix this problem? here's the code:

Help with xml and getNextHighestDepth

I have a thumbnail gallery that is called in with xml- On
stage is a movieClip that covers the entire thumbnail area with the
alpha set to 0. what I'm trying to do is onRelease- have that mc
brought to the front and it's alpha state tween to 100- i've not
much experience using 'getNextHighestDepth' so I'm assuming
something is wrong here... if anyone can help I'd really appreciate
it!

i think you want something along the lines of :
stageFade_mc.swapDepths(theMovieOnTopAtTheMoment);
Note that only dynamically created movies have depths. So if
either of the movieclips in question are just sitting in your
timeline you cant swap their depths.
In that case you either need to duplicateMovieClip() or just
set things _visible property where apropriate.

Polulate Text frames with XML content - PLEASE help me.

Hi guys,
I'm trying to import some xml data to an indesign file. Here are the steps I'm doing:
1- create new document
2- create master page
3- create empty text fields in the master to be tagged
4- import tags from xml
5- import xml
then it simply don't auto populate the text fields wiith the xml content.
I've already spent about 10 hours trying to figure out what can be the problem...
My structure in indesign (BEFORE importing XML):

It worked! thanks ... But...
But only if I don't apply to the Master when I apply to the master all the other cards have the same content as the first of the XML. :(
Even when I try to create multiple pages (cards) with no Master page (too time consuming), I can't figure out a way of having the other cards filed with the remaining data of the XML. :(
I don't want to drag the elements one by one to every single card (they are so many...)
Is there a way of having the structure organized in a way to have indesign auto populate and auto create pages?

Need help with XML response to refresh document with context and prompts

I've been working with the Restful api for a few weeks now and have been able to figure out most of what I need to automate testing of our reports. However, one task that I have not been able to figure out is how to refresh a document that contains both a context and two prompts for dates.
Here is what I have tried, and what the API responds with.
1) I queried the API for this document's parameters using the following call after logging in -

Jbuilder compiler problem with xml DOM - please help.

my problem is that I am using jbuilder 4 professional to compile/run my code.
However I want to use the XML DOM but jbuilder does not appear to support the necessary packages for use with XML.
How can I get round this.
Can I compile instead from the command line - I am using JDK1.4 which supports the java xml packages necessary. Or is there a way of adding the necessary files to my project?

In the above code I am parsing the xml file and i am doing schema validation. Schema validation is proper and it is validating correctly. Only problem is that, It is validating and showing error correctly correctly but it is not catching that error.
For clear understanding I am printing one statement before parsing and after parsing.

Cemil - yes, you can use XML data types. Use the class
com.sap.lhcommon.xml.XMLDataType
for your parameter type. Here is a snippet from a custom action we use to log XML (instead of just returning the #text node like the default logger does):

XMLUtils is a helper class we wrote - it's just a bunch of standard Java XML boilerplate code. The important part you need to know is XMLDataType.getDocument() will return an org.w3c.dom.Document.

Now my table has more than 900 rows and only when I specifically selected 25 rows of the table "ANEXO_COMPRAS" in the where ( AND K.ID BETWEEN 1 AND 25) the XML is generated.+
I think that the problem may be the data type declared "varchar2", but I was trying with the data type "CLOB" and the error is the same.+

A CLOB can store much more than this, so it's necessary to buffer the output as shown in +{message:id=4497571}+

Excel Output problem with XML Publisher Report

Hi Experts,
I am working on XML Publisher report with EBS 11i and database 9i. My XML Report output type is EXCEL, i have below issue with the output.
I have column 'quantity' with xml tag <?QUANTITY?>.
In the XML file it's showing the value '028' for quantity, but when i open the output in EXCEL, it's showing up '28', removing leading zero. I want to show the data in EXCEL also '028'. Could somebody help me how to print the XML Tag value as it is in EXCEL output.

How can I export a stylesheet (either CSS or XSLT) with XML from indesign?

Hi,
I am using indesign CS4. I want to export style sheet whether it is CSS or XSLT file with xml.
I try to get it but can't.
Also the XML i am exporting does not styles that has been applied by me while creating the file in Indesign.
Please help me out by telling me the way how can i get a stylesheet and also how can I embed that style sheet with XML so that my XML file looks similiar to the indesign file.

I am using indesign CS4. I want to export style sheet whether it is CSS or XSLT file with xml.
CSS is not an XML style sheet, it's an HTML style sheet. "Export to HTML" will export an empty stylesheet for the paragraph and character styles. ID cannot convert its (very advanced) typographic capabilities to the (very limited) CSS notation, and thus it defaults to exporting the names only.
XSLT is not an XML style sheet either; it's a transformation format (http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt).
I try to get it but can't.
Also the XML i am exporting does not styles that has been applied by me while creating the file in Indesign.
XML Export does not export anything except the items you tagged with the Auto-tag feature, or you tagged yourself. If you need your styles tagged, use Map Styles to Tags (http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/indesign/mapping.html).
XML has almost nothing to do with styling -- ideally, XML describes document structure while styles describe formatting.

What are the requirements for creating a table with xml datatype in Oracle: The steps would help very much to know the scripting of the table and how to query and either insert/update and remove data from that table.
