Help! K9VGM-V (MS-7253) with AMD 89 watt 6000+ OR 125 watt 6000+
a related question to an old thread? https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=119983.msg907875#msg907875
I have K9VGM-V (MS-7253). and have 6000+ 125 AMD CPU I bought at a bargain.
What would happen if the 125 watt 6000+ was installed in stead of the 89 watt version? Would it boot up? Would not boot up? What screen or sounds would you hear? MSI recommends no!
Should I give it a try?
Thank you to all who read this post!
Edit: Edited your link above to the one you should have used.
Provided it's recognised by a late enough BIOS yes it will work. But, and this is a big but as Fredrik stated it surely is not recommended as 125W CPU's are not supported on that MB and will eventually fry the CPU voltage regulator MOSFET's. If you insist on using that CPU then find yourself a MB that supports 125W CPU.
Edit: At the very least it will kill the MB you have, worst case scenario is it could be a fire hazard and destroy the entire PC if not more..

Help please!!! with AMD 3200+
Just Purchased a brand new xp 3200+ to run on my K7N2 Delta ILSR, I had been running a 2500+, Anyway at this point the system is totally unstable at default (200) mhz fsb, It will not even last one cycle with sisoft sandra's burn in wizard and reboots just logging into the system.
However when I set it up to run bios setup defaults it's solid as a rock. But it's recognizing the processor as an xp 2500+ and running at 1.8 ghz, with the 333 mhz fsb. I originally thought this might be a ram problem, so I took out each stick and tried to run it at 3200+ one at a time, same problems all over again. tried turning off agp fast write, loosening the memory timings, every thing i can think of.
Do i need to re-install windows??? any help at all would be greatly appreciated I would hate to think i just paid all this money and have to run at 1.8 ghz
My System:
MSI K7n2 delta l ilsr
xp 3200+ barton
1.5 ghz pc 3200 ram micron technology dual channel 400mhz
slk 900a heatsink, 3000 rpm fan, 43c idle 48 load
PSU hercules 420w
windows xp professional sp 2
Bios version 7.8
seagate barracuda 120 g primary hd
maxtor 80g diamond max back up
video card nvidia geforce 5200 with 256 on board memAs I said in the post, I tried Loosening the memory timings, to no avail, Heat is not a problem here, temps are staying in the 40's at default settings, I have a huge leaf blower fan on the processor (tornado) along with the slk 900a bios is 7.8, I am not concerned with Sisoft sandra scores at all, the only reason I ran it is to try to determine the problem by putting first the processor and then the memory, then the video under load, when I say it's unstable I mean it's rebooting when I'm trying to type this message, I tried to include as much info as possible in this post, about the system, including the part about the ram, timings i've loosened them to 11,4,4, and the cas latency to 3,
kudos to the guy who said to bump the voltage, i'm at 1.7 cpu core and it's only restarted once in the last hour so it seems to have stabalized a bit I just think it's ironic, that I went from the 2500+ to this cpu so I wouldn't have to OC to get it above 2g and now tha't what i'm having to do,,,,it has however upped the temps about 5 degrees to 48 idle, and 53 load, how high can i take the core voltage without damaging the cpu???

The thing is that i want to overclock more my CPU at least to pass over 2Ghz barrier. In the bios if i set the FSB at 223 my computer wont start now i have it at 220 and it works fine.I think there are some settings that i have to change that will allow me to pass the 2Ghz barrier
Thank you all that will answerQuote from: al3x3y on 03-April-08, 05:02:09
sorry for my late reply.so i change the memory index to 400mhz and the with memtest i changed the timing to 4-5-5-15 i dont know why i can`t change it to 5-5-5-15.
now what should i do?i hope it wont crash my os again.
thank you
"so i change the memory index to 400mhz "

I am running Photoshop CC 2014 on Windows 8.1 with an AMD quad core processor and AMD E1-2100 APU with AMD Radeon HD 8210 Graphics Card. I have installed the latest driver version 13.152.0.0. When I activate puppet warp, the mesh appears over the image and I can place the first pin. However, when I go to add the second pin, Photoshop crashes. I have tried with on a new, blank file, with just a few lines on it, but, as soon as I place the first pin, the image disappears, and then, as soon as I click anywhere else in the image, Photoshop crashes. I have followed all the online advice about settings under the Preferences/Performance interface, but nothing fixes the problem. Can anyone please help?

If you creat a signature (in profile) it will save you having to type your spec's out each time or us looking for it. Use mine as a template.
What PSU are you using ? Can you list the power output ? (writen on side of psu)
Going from your specs you listed your graphics card is very hungery on power so I would suggest your psu isn't up to the job under load.
Post the spec and we will know for sure. -
I cannot install windows 7 x64 with AMD/ASUS RAID driver
Trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on an ASUS M5A97 mobo with AMD SB850 RAID, two WD 750GB drives configured as RAID 0. No drives are recognized by W7 install, so I choose Load Drivers. I put the drivers on a USB stick. Install finds the drivers there,
starts loading them, then comes back with "Installing an unsigned 64 bit driver is not supported and may result in an unstable Windows installation." I downloaded the latest drivers from ASUS website which are WHQL certified (as are the one's on the motherboard
disk). I saw other posts that recommend clicking Repair instead of Install, but I don't see where that option is. All I am given as options are Upgrade or Install. Choosing Upgrade tells me to boot Windows first. But this is a brand new install so...
I tried pressing F8 as setup was booting and chose "Disable Signed Driver Requirement" but that had no effect at all. If I turn off the RAID W7 sees both disks and happily installs. I see related posts going back to 2009; surely someone has
a solution for this issue?
Da BombHi guys,
I have been struggling with the same issue.
Win7 x64. Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 Mobo with Intel core i7-3930K at 3.20 GHz
Marvell 88SE9172 SATA RAID controller with two Hitachi 500 GB spinning disks configured as RAID1
Windows would get to the point of asking for a mass storage drive. It would not see the RAID I had created.
Tried every driver I could find. Tried drivers from the "Station Drivers" website. Tried Marvell drivers for the same chip from the ASUS website. No luck. Tried loading from CD as well as USB flash drive. Always the same result... Windows would find
the drivers appropriate for the hardware found, I would select the RAID version, and after a few seconds, would report that the drivers were unsigned, and the installation was not supported for 64-bit drivers. Clicking OK would take me back to the load drivers
display with no new drives listed in the available drives window.
I tried hitting F8 during startup, and selected the "allow install of unsigned drivers option". That didn't do ANYTHING. Still the same error.
Someone suggested putting the drivers in the root directory. That didn't work. I also disabled all other drives except one CD rom and a USB drive and made sure that my RAID array was the first drive in the boot list.
Tried doing a windows repair, as someone else suggested. (This is an option that is available on the install disk I am using. It's enabled as part of EMS (emergency management services) in setup. Anyway, this was reported to be a workaround
to the signed driver issue. It would allow me to browse to the individual files, but no matter which one I selected, the response was "cannot find hardware appropriate to the driver selected" or some such nonesense. So I gave up on that.
Doing the install with the controller in IDE mode with just one drive connected, would result is Windows installing without a hitch. The problem was clearly when I presented 64-bit windows with a controller in RAID mode.
Long story less long, here's what worked for me....
Out of desperation, I began trying other subfolders in the driver lists. The Gigabyte manual indicated that the AMD64 subfolder was the correct one for the Marvell controller, when using RAID mode with 64-bit Windows. After trying every subfolder of
every driver I could find, the driver in the i386 folder actually worked. It initially came back with the same error about unsigned drivers, but after clicking OK, my RAID drive showed up in the list. I have been able to partition and format
the drive from within Windows setup, and am continuing with the install now. Hopefully won't be any problems booting from the drive post install, but so far it looks good, and I'm relieved that I was able to get it this far.
The whole process has been one of the most frustrating computing experiences I've ever had. This is what it was like back in the 90's when building PCs from scratch. I'm amazed that in this day and age the process is still so poorly documented
and filled with potholes, traps and caveats. Shame on the entire PC industry for allowing this to continue. I'm not asking that they jump in and try to automate it and do all the thinking for me (their solution for everything lately)...all I'm asking for it
clear, concise and accurate INFORMATION.
With the right information, and software that provides accurate feedback, this would all be easy...and even fun.
Hope this helps someone faced with the same problem. -

Help! OpenGl on windows with bootcamp
Hi, so I've installed windows 8 on my iMac sucessfully, but for some reason (after updating the drivers through intel AND bootcamp) my opengl is still only 1.1 and i cant figure out how to update it. Most of the games i am trying to play require atleast opengl 3.0. Also my sound wont work when i use windows (using headphones and external speakers, neither work). Any information will help, thank you!
if the video card driver does not support OpenGL 3 then you're out of luck
you should stick with the latests bootcamp driver found here
get the latests version which list support for your mac

HP Pavilion p6-2155a (64bit, running Win8.0)- Problem with AMD Radeon HD7450
Hi,
Have noticed various posts re problems with AMD Radeon HD7450.
For several months, I've had problems with my "video hardware causing Windows to stop working correctly". Until yesterday, this was more of a nuisance than a real problem (so I thought). Yesterday, I had my first BSOD, caused by video_scheduler_internal_error.
Today, I downloaded sp59360.exe & installed, as suggested by the HP website. On checking the Device Manager, this driver appears to be older (Version 8.982.10.0, Date 28.8.12) than the one I had previously (Version 8.982.10.6000, Date 18.9.12).
About 30 minutes ago, while away from my computer, I think I had another "video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly".
Have I done the right thing in installing sp59360.exe? Should I roll-back to the previous driver? What is causing my problems? Is it possibly a faulty card?Hello @Mazza52,
I understand that you are getting a BSOD error related to your graphics card and are seeking assistance. As you have tried multiple drivers and are still getting the BSOD I think we should do a backup and recovery of your computer to rule out software as being an issue.
To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.
If after this you still have the same problem then the issue appears to be a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.
As for the drivers you installed and had installed the Version 8.982.10.6000 driver from what I can see is for Notebook computers and just happened to work for you the driver Version 8.982.10.0 is the one you should have installed.
I would like to thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

15-n067sr problems with AMD Radeon HD 8670M (windows 8.1 x64)
Hello,
below i'll explain the problem i'm experiencing.
I've decided to install Windows 8.1 x64 to this notebook model (15-n067sr). The problem is that ATI drivers which i download from HP support site doesn't allow me to install Display driver, it only installs OEM profile or something like that + Installer. No display driver, no CCC, not anything else. And it doesn't matter if i choose quick install or personalized. I've tried deleting all the ATI, Intel and chipset drivers and reinstalling them one by one. First chipset, then Intel and then ATI and still Installer won't let me setup any data which is needed for correct performance.
Anyway, i tried to install 14.9 Catalyst from AMD website, also tried beta drivers and actually they install correctly and i can switch between 2 video GPU's and everything seems fine EXCEPT ONE THING : the notebook won't come back from sleep mode , hybernation mode or when the display switches off. I've tried to manipulate with energy options , but still no result. With AMD display driver installed (from official website) the notebook never resumes correctly from these modes, i guess they just don't work at all, display just becomes black and nothing else happens.
Yes, i've updated my BIOS.
No, with these drivers from HP i can't switch between GPU's and only Intel GPU works actually, i've checked that in TechPower GPU-Z.
I guess i've tried everything possible, but if you can think of any other solution - please let me know, because i can either play games normally and use both GPU's but it's impossible to work with notebook, because sleep and hybernation modes doesn't work, either i can work without any problems, but my AMD GPU isn't avalible.
Thanks in advance.Hi @Malakhov ,
Thank you for your post, I will do my best to assist you!
I grasp you are having a difficulty with the switchable graphics on your notebook. You have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and using updated drivers but to no success.
Here is a link to the recommended drivers for your system.
HP Pavilion 15-n067sr Notebook PC Drivers
Download and save the Chipset, Intel and AMD drivers and save them on your desktop
Delete all three drivers
Install the Chipset driver
restart your notebook this is an important step
Now install the Intel driver and if prompted restart the notebook and finally install the last driver.
Here is a link to Switchable Graphics on Notebooks Configured with Intel and ATI GPUs.
I hope this helped!

Satellite C850D-B600 - troubles with AMD Radeon HD 7310 Graphics
Hi,
I have laptop Toshiba Satellite C850D-B600 with AMD Dual-Core Processor E1-1200 CPU with AMD Radeon™ HD 7310 Graphics
I tried the last version in the official site and I tried AMD Official Site and I got massage says (the version of your graphics adapter is not supported) and when I tried to install Toshiba driver the graphic card does not work too.
When I tried to open AMD vision engine control centre I got this massage says (AMD vision engine control center cannot be started there are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD vision engine control center).
Please could you help me :(Hi
May I ask you what system did you install and what driver did you try to install from Toshiba driver page?
It seems that this notebook Satellite C850D-B600 was released without any preinstalled Windows system and therefore it would be useful to know what system you are using.
You should also know that the Radeon HD 7310 graphic is a part of CPU. Yes, this is not external graphic unit but its intergraded in CPU.
Regarding the AMD vision engine control center
>AMD vision engine control center cannot be started there are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD vision engine control center
The AMD Vision Control Center offers additional CPU monitoring options from within the Control Center. I think the above message appears because there are no settings which could be configured. But this does not mean that the driver would not work. -

for any help you can send or i am availbale on above contact address.Hello , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I read your post about the BIOS, and wanted to assist you! The blank screen and blinking of your Caps Lock, is the system trying to give you the error code for the issue your notebook is having. You can review the following document for further assistance, if needed:HP Notebook PCs - Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code Please note the blinking sequence of your Caps Lock, and follow the instructions in the document above. From the information that you provided, it is possible that the blink code will be related to a BIOS error. You can always try performing a System Restore, to set the notebook back to a previous working point. You can also try checking this site for BIOS drivers. Once there, you can select your Operating System and click "Update", you should be able to access and download the BIOS drivers. If you downloaded the latest driver from that site, try uninstalling the driver and installing the previous version. Please let me know if this information was helpful by clicking the thumbs up below.

Bad CS6 liquify preview with AMD 6950
I'm try new liquify in Photoshop CS6 and see very bad previews. Here is liquify preview in accelerated Liquify. Note the artifacts.
Here is unaccelerated preview (Alt pressed pressed at startup). All clean.
I also tried nVidia videocards. All ok. Problem appears only on workstation with AMD card. I try two drivers 12.4 and 12.2 - same results. OpenCL is on.
Anybody can help me?I have the same problem, my graphics card is the Intel HD4000. I submitted a bug request a week or so ago, has not been acknowledged Likewise OpenCL is on.....
This is only apparent in Liquify, all other filters and displays are fine. My bug report was "Jaggies in Liquify" makes it difficult if not impossible to work on fine detail

I have a HP DV9727us,laptop with AMD Turion 64 X2 chipsets at 2.0gz. These are way slow!!! and I was wondering if I could change Chipsets to a faster 2.5GZ or above Dual Core chipset? I run Win 7 Home Prem 32 bit with 3 Gig memory, But there just doesn't seem to be any way to get any speed out of the chipsets! Help Please! This is about to become a boat anchor!
Here is the Manual:
Service Manual
The fastest processor (not chipset-that is something else) is a Turion TL-66 at 2.3 ghz. I doubt that would make a whole lot of difference, and the upgrade is possible but far from easy. The money it would cost to buy the processor and have someone else install it would be equal to the cost of a new laptop if you add what you can get by selling yours. The processor you have should be fairly capable and I suspect that if you did some software optimization you would see a big difference.
