Help ME!!! My iPod keeps getting worse!!!
My iPod is really messed up, it has so many problems.
First the music doesn't pay anymore it just pauses for a couple of seconds and then goes to the next song and does the same. At first it just stopped or paused for a while but then it worse.
Next neither my computer nor my iTunes reconize my iPod; I followed all the instructions on the site, and I then got a newer, better computer but it still does not work.
These are the major problems but there others I just can't really think about them right now.
Windows XP Pro
It sounds to me like you have a hard drive issue. To determine this, you can follow these steps to run a hdd scan:
Press and hold menu + select until the apple logo appears.
With the apple logo still on the screen, press and hold select + rewind.
You should soon see a screen that says "IRAM PASS HIT PLAY CONTINUE".
Press the play/pause button.
Use the forward button to navigate through the list of tests to "HDD SCAN" and select it.
Connect your iPod to the wall adapter and allow the scan to run. If the scan passes in a minute or two, it's a false pass and indicates a hard drive failure. If you see results like "SCAN NG" or "RD FAIL", these also indicate that your iPod's hard drive is pooched.

Why does my 5gh video 60gig ipod keep getting disconnected?
Ever since I installed itunes 7 and 1.2 update my ipod keeps getting dropped. it says "do not disconnect" and then poof it disconnects istelf?
this is getting bad, i can't update my podcasts, etc.
anger rising.
dell Windows XPWhen iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.
Have a nice day! -
Ipod keeps getting white screen
My ipod keeps getting the 'white screen of death', almost every time I leave it... does that mean there's something wrong with it and it's dying?
ThanksIf you're lucky, it will be under warranty. Mine got the 'WSOD' one month after purchase. The replacement is in the store now.
If you're out of warranty, google search ipod white screen. There are several recommendations on how to attempt a fix.
For me, none of them worked. Apple store staff were gracious, and quickly agreed to replace.
Good luck. -
My ipod keeps getting corrupted and I have to reset it
My ipod keeps getting corrupted, and I have to keep resetting it. I have owned four ipods. Yes that's right. Four. I have been returning them but every single one does this. It is the same every time. I press the middle button when "Music" is selected, and the device completely shuts off when I do this and goes to the Apple icon. If I press play, then it will play songs, but only at random, and I cannot access my playlists. I have to reset the ipod to fix this problem. What's going on with this?
ipod Nano Windows XPIm not sure EXACTLY what would cause this, but if you have had 4 nanos do the exact thing, its either a issue with the nanos being sold at the place your getting them at, like the local store in your area, or its a issue with your PC. I know some people report a issue with a certain malware program that sneaks on there system and causes havoc with the iPod service and in turn causes weird things with there pod.
The iPOd Service is a program that runs in the background of windows and, in basic terms, acts like the "Middle guy" translating things from the PC to the pod.
Scan your system for any viruses with a antivirus program and scan for malware with Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/download Then download install and run the latest iPod updater on your nano here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ -
Firefox has gotten extremely slow. Typing, loading, searching, even just scrolling from the top of a page to the bottom. My daughter had the same thing happen to her and had to get her computer stripped down and completely reloaded. I don't have that option. It has no viruses and has been completely freed of all things that could slow it down.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== About a month ago. It is getting worse.Hmm... try downloading the [http://www.firefox.com latest] version... but if that doesn't work then try [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. Not sure what could be causing it...

hi , can any one help me with a problem ,,, i own an iphone 4 and creates my account in itunes months later my friend bought an ipod and created an account also but created in my pc and now both get sync in the same pc and all my personal data from the iphone 4 keeps getting copy and the ipod gets it and have acces to my personal data and apps gets my mail etc , can any one help me with this issue?
thnk youSorry to hear of your problem, but any hardware in a computer can fail - that includes the hard drive, the logic board, etc, etc. Fortunately, it usually doesn't happen that soon; however, I've read of hard drives failing within 6 months.
So, since you did not purchase the extended Applecare Protection Plan (3 years coverage), you will need to make a decision to repair or sell it as is. I would always purchase 3 year coverage for an all in one or a laptop because repairs are expensive and at least I'd be covered for 3 years.
We can't speculate on whether there should be a recall or not; these forums are for user to user assistance with technical problems. In your case, there is nothing we can help with since you've already gotten a diagnosis. -

Help my sons ipod keeps crashing
my sons ipod keeps crashing is there any one who could help with this as we are having to restore quite often
I am having a very similar problem with my sister's nano. (3rd gen I believe)
It will be playing normally & then just suddenly stop. When she tries to get it to start playing again she finds that it has gone out to the Main menu & will not respond to anything. This last time, after doing a restore, it is acting as though it is still full & will not let me put her music back on it.
If someone could point me to a solution to this issue i would be deeply grateful. Thank you for your time. -
Logic Pro 9 is unstable on my system and just keeps getting worse. Any ideas?
Hello all, so, I've had a Mac Pro, Quad-Core 2.93 GHz Intel Xeon, 16 GB RAM, Mac Pro running Snow Leopard for about 3 years now. I use Logic Pro 9 (Academic Version) and it is really, really unstable. It seems to go through periods of getting worse, but lately it's been unbearable. I am a professional and I find it hard to believe that this software is allowed to have the word "Pro" in the name if it's this unstable for everyone. But, it seems that only some people have the issues I have. Off the top of my head, a few of the main issues are: CPU spiking like crazy (when the Activity Monitor says very little usage by Logic), I know some of the workarounds like making more auxes and splitting up the load, but this is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to work around a professional piece of software just to use it. Sometimes the CPU spikes with one instrument or one audio channel and nothing going on. It's really messed up.Then there's the memory errors when Logic is only using 1GB or RAM, IF THAT. I don't understand this at all, it also can happen in a fully loaded session or with barely anything going on. Then there are the random crashes that make no sense. There's also the part where it does not agree with many LEGIT-OWNED plugins, like Refx Nexus, XFER Nerve, most of the UAD plugins and many more. There's literally a TON more bugs, but these are the big and obvious ones that ruin my workflow. I have not been able to find a real fix for this, from deleting the preferences to reinstalling. I really don't understand it and Logic seems to work much better for other people I know. It also runs much smoother on my really crappy, old laptop. There's nothing wrong with the Mac Pro (other than it's probably self destructing like we all know Apple products do, but this has been a problem since the day I purchased it), it passes all tests and runs perfectly with any other software - from audio/video editing (Cubase, Ableton, Pro Tools, Final Cut, etc. all run like a dream) to video games. So, I really am fed up with this because I've been using Logic for so long that I really don't want to switch to a new DAW. That would slow down my workflow even more than Logic's crashes already do. Someone please help me, if you can.

Yes... but I have come across some setups that came with a native SL (and even one Lion!) installation.. that somehow had a corrupted or older Prokit installed for some unknown reason... and given it's a quick fix to try.. I thought I'd mention it..
I frankly don't think it is entirely a Prokit issue itself, but it wouldn't do any harm to try and install v7 just in case it is part of the problem...
+1 on the UAD stuff....
Also, at the time it crashed... according to the logs...the OP was running Ableton Live at the same time, presumably rewired with Logic... so add all that together with UAD plugins... and that's quite a load on the system...
Finally in thread 32 there is a weird exception msg relating to the Trash2 plugin.. that I haven't seen before...

That might be nothing... but as i said, I haven't seen that one before and given what else is going on.. it might be involved too... or nothing to do with that at all! -

HELP ME!! keep getting error message when DLing iOS 5
I have been trying to download the iOS 5 update for my iphone 4 but i keep getting the following error message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone "___". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again."
I have tried downloading the software about 5 times with no success. My nextwork is connected and my firewalls are not blocked. I have no idea what to do...
Can someone please help?!?If you have internet security try switching it off whilst doing the upgrade. I have Kaspersky and would always get that error message so after trying everything (including going to the apple shop) I tried turning of the security and it worked.

Okay so after I came home from Vermont, my black iPod started to overheat a lot. I keep it on my charger 24/7 (except when I'm going somewhere). I asked someone if it happened before on their iPod and they said no but they said it might overheat a lot because it's black and it's really hot outside but I keep it inside. My iPod is a 4th generation, 16GB, and is black. Does it keep getting overheated because of the weather, because it's black, or I'm over charging it?
Oh well there's another thing.... I plugged in my ipod and all of the sudden it showed "Temperature" and the triangle with the explication mark in the middle of it and then shut off... My ipod wasn't even overheated. I unplugged it and plugged it back in again. Then it showed a battery thing with a little red line in it but the thing is that my ipod was fully charged. So I left it there until the next day it showed the same thing so i unplugged it and turned it on... and the date and time changed.

IPod problems that keep getting worse...
There isn't really a specific title that can fit my current dilemmas with regards to my iPod classic as there are many issues that I am currently pulling my hair out over and am in desperate need of getting my iPod back on the road.
Firstly a little background information as this may be part of the cause. I have had my iPod classic since the end of January this year, so it's not very old. My computer I am currently using however, is about 4 years old so is quite slow and battered. It does work though, and with relation to my iPod there is only one cause for concern. Whenever I plug my iPod in or any USB device that is, after a while the computer completely freezes up and the only way of resurrecting it is rebooting it. I don't know if this is related to my other problems, but this may be of use in diagnosis.
Anyway, about a month ago for some reason when trying to manually (I don't automatically sync my iPod) add an album, my iPod just seemed to flip out and the error 'Delayed Write Failed' came up. On ejecting my iPod all my 5000 songs and everything else had been wiped. After researching this problem on the internet I tried a thing called Disc Caching "Because iTunes tries to push as much data as possible as quickly as possible, Windows was unable to keep up, resulting in the error." this seemed to fit my problem, like I said the computer was old and this sounded about right. Unlucky for me, it wasn't that easy and I had no joy.
I've lost count of the amount of times I restored it and every time I try to add new music the same 'Delayed Write Failed' message comes up, or the computer just completely freezes before the message has the chance to come up. The message usually appears after putting 200 or so (there is a definite number of which I'm not sure of) songs on. I've also had the message 'attempting to copy to the disc 'iPod' failed. The disc could not be read or written to.' one or twice also.
This evening I tried again to get my iPod working, but it didn't even load up in iTunes (the programme opened, but that's as far as it got) and then resulted in a freeze up of the computer.
I shall try my iPod on another computer to see whether it is the compueter's fault or my iPod itself, as perhaps this may shed some light on the situation. For the record I also have an iPod mini that I use to run with, this has always been fine and is working now as well as it ever has. I also tried connecting my classic with a Firewire cable which worked fine on the mini and didn't result in a freeze up either, but of course this doesn't work with the classic (I do know why).
I would appreciate some advice on my situation immensely as I can't live without my iPod and I miss it so much. Any advice I thank in advance!I'm getting a new laptop for my birthday in about a week, so there's no need to reinstall Windows all over again. Plus I would probably make the computer blow up or something if I did this.
Tonight I tried my iPod on another friends computer. Although his is also old, it did not freeze up like mine. Now that is obviously a problem with my system and has already been addressed. However my iPod again proceeded to misbehave. It got to about 270 (ish) songs and then the dreaded error came up saying 'attempting to copy to the disc 'iPod' failed.' But when I ejected it, it still had the small amount of music that I was able to put on, on it.
Later, I tried to put about five songs on but the error: The iPod 'x' could not be synced. An unknown error occured (-1303).
So now I have diagnosed that it is obviously the problem with my iPod. Although, should I try it on my brand new laptop that may get rid of all the other previous problems?
I would be eternally grateful for any help as I can't stand life without my iPod!
