HELP Missing text animations

I installed my Premier Elements 7 including the extra theme content and I have zero text transitions. Where are they? Am I somehow missing something? I installed from a new CD. Help is appreciated.

Thanks for the attempted help, but my themes, styles, templates, etc. are all there...just no text animations at all. And idea where those are stored (file name/folder) so I can check and see if they are missing?
Since I didn't buy it from Adobe, their support said they couldn't help me...something about the serial number not being valid.

PLEASE HELP! Text animation question.

Hi,
This might be a dumb question, but it's really stumping me. I want to animate a title using some of the text animation presets, but I can't seem to apply an animation that makes the text appear AND an animation that makes the text disappear. I can do one or the other, but not both.
For example, I want my title's text to appear with "FocusIn", and I want it to disappear with "DropOutByCharacter." How do I do this?! I've searched everywhere and wasted an entire day trying to figure this out!

Along with Steve's tip on doing two Titles (probably the easiest way to handle this), would be to use Keyframed Effects to create your animation. Since Drop Out By Character, is the harder one to do by hand, I'd just add a Blur to the Title, and Keyframe it to start out heavily Blurred (maybe even with a lowered Opacity, also Keyframed) and then Keyframe the Blur out, where you wish to have the Title sharp. Then, add the Drop Out By Character.
The beauty of Keyframing the various Effects is that you can control many at one time on a single Clip. However, the concept is not the easiest to initially grasp. Once you do, you'll likely use Keyframes in lieu of most packaged animation Effects.
Steve has a good series of articles on Keyframing on the Muvipix site. Do not recall if they are in the "free" section, or not. Since there is a ton of great material, articles, tutorials and also Assets, like Motion Footage and Menus there, a subscription often pays for itself in one day of downloading.

Missing texts in WEB with F4-help combined with variable input.

I've defined a characteristic with text : short text, medium length text and long text. The texts are language independent.
I've defined a variable for this characteristic and I've defined a BEX-report that provides a variable-filter for this characteristic in the filter area. I've also set the property Display as to text or Key and Text
When I start the report the prompt-window appears and then I can perform F4 on the input field for this characteristic. Then a selection box opens showing the key and all texts - short desription, medium descr. and long desc.
If I use this report in the web-Application designer or if I launch this report directly in the WebBrowser I'll also get a selection box but no texts appear.
What can I do to see these texts also in WEB ? Where can I influence the search help for the web (in BEX it works perfectly) ?
Additional information: By defining the info object there is a tab for Business Explorer settings. For general settings I've choosen Text for the property Display. What is really strange is that in Bex-Explorer the property Display as always shows Key as a default although I've entered Text in RSA1. I've also inspected other characteristics where there are no missing texts. Here I've found out that in the info object there is Text choosen as attribut for Display -> in the Bex itself Text is shown as a default too.

I am having a similar problem but I have found this is due to either of two reasons.
1) The object is compounded
2) The compounded object is authorisation relavant and the security is stopping the masterdata being read properly.
Hope this helps narrow down your search.

Help with drop-in text animation

Hi Folks,
I'm trying to create a specific text animation, but I'm having a little difficulty. I'd like to have the text drop in in a random order into its final spot. I can get close using the text drop-in animation, but I'd really like the 'source' of the text dropping in to be from a single point. Picture a watering can pouring the letters out and they randomly fall into their correct spot in a phrase. The default look of the drop-in animation is that each character drops from its corresponding spot in the phrase. I've played with changing the tracking, using the 'before' setting and managed to squeeze the space that the text is dropping from, but that causes the letter to appear to move after they've already landed. Todd, thanks for the reference to the tutorials. They helped me understand a little more how the animators work.
Mylenium, I'm still a little confused on your approach. I've got the base text layer and added an animator for opacity. I set it for random and that works fine, the letters randomly appear and complete the phrase. For the 'pouring in' part, I added a second text layer and animated the position property, but the text still originates from its original place in the phrase. I can't get it to originate from a single point. Also, I'm not even sure I understood about using multiple selectors for the 1st layer. Just using the animator for opacity with a random setting seems to provide the correct 'ending' of the animation.

When I click Buy Book this appears our book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue? will the text I have sellected still be ok or will the book have missing text help Pleas?

Yes, you're safe to continue. That means that there are text boxes that you did not put any text into and they contain the holding text which will not be printed. That text is shown in a light grayt and is in Latin. Normally you can just put a space in the text box to replace the holding text so as not to get that warning message.
Before ordering the book proof the book according to this Apple document: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. Check the pdf file for any missing text or photos and any warning indicators in the text boxes indicating that some of the text has exceeded the space allotted in the text box.
Keep the pdf file to compare with the printed copy when you reciive it.

All text behaviors are missing except Text Animation

Final Cut Studio 2 installed several weeks ago. I started up Motion 3 for the first time today. Upon clicking "Add Behavior" icon all of the text behaviors are missing except Text Animation. (ie. Text-Basic, Text-Fade, Text-Glow, etc). Am I missing something? Thanks.

By mistaken all the texts were disappered and selection texts are existing.
Now i eant to enter selection text name for that.AS it is a standard program i can't change it.

Text Animation Boxes--Help!

Using Captivate 1.01.1418. When I publish to a swf, I have
text entry animations... they appear doubled up--one right below
the other. It's like a band that goes all the way across the screen
at the point where the text is entered (if that makes sense). My IE
version is 6.0.29, if that matters.... Any ideas??? Thanks.

Text Animation: Making words in a sentence fade in one word at a time?

Hi everybody!
I am not very experienced with the text animations in Adobe Premiere Pro (I am running CS4).
How do I create a sentence of text where one word fades in at a time until the full sentence is present? The only way I can think of doing this is the extremely tedious and hard way, which is making each word a title and fading them in and out, and even then, making sure the spacing and placement of the words follow a straight line would be very difficult... there must be a more efficient way, right? Is there some sort of preset I have missed?

I recommend using the Keyframes in their mini-Timeline in the Effects Edit Panel. I also use the numerical settings (can be typed in, or scrubbed), to control the Effects. With the Crop Effect, you can Keyframe all four settings, Top, Bottom, Left and Right independently.
To do a "hold," just place one Keyframe at the end of a setting, and another with that same value along the Timeline to the Duration desired. There are Hold Keyframes, but I'd keep it very simple for now.
Now, this is from an earlier version of Pr, but the general tips will be the same (some additional features and a new look added) on Basic Keyframing.
The manual (do they still do those?), and the Help files will give you details, but getting the initial concept down can be a bit daunting. However, once you get your head around the concept and located the position of the various controls, you will NEVER look back, and then the Help files will make a ton mores sense. Also, once you "get it," much of Keyframing translates to AfterEffects too - just some different names and controls, but the same main concept.

Jerky text animations

Whenever I do a text animation (motion tween, usually moving
or scaling text from 80% to 100%, for example) the motion is very
jerky, not smooth like I often see. I use Flash 8, 20 fps, and the
problem is the same on all fonts I've tried. Is there something I'm
missing?

Text animation will almost always be jerky, unless you twin a
single word.
Flash needs to render all the little curves, a sentence made
of many characters
can become quite a complex bunch of curves to move around.
Sometimes breaking apart will help, also increasing frame
rate to 31.

Modify Text Animation Preset?

I am not exactly a newbie to AE but it has been a while since I have used it so I am a bit rusty.
I just upgraded to CS3 and am trying to use the Text Animation Presets. When trying to use Text Rain In and Text Rain Out to morph text from one thing at the top of the screen to something else at the bottom of the screen, I can't figure out how to modify the end points of the effects. All of the effects features seem to be inaccessible throught the timeline.
What am I missing? Thanks.

Hard to tell from your post but you seem to be having trouble with the text animators. There are many pages in the help system that describe them. Do you know how the selectors work? The text animation system is incredibly powerful but it introduced a completely new paradigm to a AE's already supercomplex interface.

PE7 - Title text animation

When creating a title, you can choose to apply one of several text animations, e.g. fade, pan and zoom, etc. You simply select the text you want to animate, then choose an animation from the edit panel and click apply. My question is, when you later come back to edit that title, how can you tell which animation is applied? The animation does not seem to highlight. Similarly, the text style does not highlight, although you can tell which font and point and other characteristics are applied to selected text by looking at the text options.
The "Fade out by line" animation seems to be similar to just clicking the "Fade out" button in the opacity properties of the title (if all there is in the title is text), but no key frames are created, or at least they are not visible anywhere that I can find. There does not seem to be any way to edit the properties of one of these "canned" animations. Is this right, or am I missing something?

There is no straightforward location in the UI from where you can find out which animated title or which Style has been applied to a title. The Remove button in the animation panel gets highlighted only once we have applied an animation, so a user can find out wether any animation has been applied or not but cannot decipher which animation has been applied to a text.
I normally apply the nimation and click preview to see the end result, and If I like it, I keep it that way.

Text animation not working in Captivate 5

Hi there -- I am seeing some strange results and need some help troubleshooting.
I have one project and on the first slide I have an image, a text animation, and video. I view it and everything plays perfectly. Here is what the timeline and properties looks like:
I removed the video and resaved the project under a different name.
But when I preview the movie, it does not play the text animation. When I play it from the timeline I do see the text and the animation. But when I preview the project and publish and view the movie the text animation is not included.
This is are the settings in the second project (which match the first b/c I simply saved the project as a different name).
I added another text animation to the second project and that also did not play in preview or after publishing. But the first project works fine.
Any ideas on why text animation would be playing in one project but not another project?

Text Animation works in one and not in the other. It doesn't matter the order in which it is located on the slide.
I have been doing more tests and just ran into an interesting bug.
I recreated the original steps:
1) Take the working .cptx (which has graphics, text animation, and video)
2) Resave under a new name
3) Remove the video
Everything seemed to be working fine. When I previewed, the text animation works.
Then I published using two different settings:
Version 1: Externalize Skin, AutoPlay, No Preload
Version 2: Nothing External, AutoPlay, Preload
Weird thing is with version 1, the skin is externalized as a separate swf, and it does not play the title text animation.
But version 2, when nothing is set to be external it plays fine.
They are both being published from the same exact .cptx only difference is how I published.

Randomly Missing Text in PDF Created from FrameMaker

This problem relates to a structured FM document, but I suspect it might be a general issue and have posted it here in the general forum for that reason.
I am generating PDFs that are missing text somewhat randomly throughout. I tried searching the forum for solutions, but none of the suggested fixes worked and none of the posts specifically addressed the issue I am experiencing.
I am working in structured FM. The templates we use were originally created for FM8. We use both FM8 and FM10 in our work group. We are able to duplicate the same problem in both versions and on multiple computers.
I thought I had narrowed the problem down to certain paragraph formatting, since it only ocurs in three or four paragraph formats (a bullet list, table text, etc.) Garden variety formatting. But in most places in the document, these formats appear perfectly. The strangest occurence is a single intance where the page number is missing from the footer.
I thought it might be a font issue, as I've had similar issues in the past. I had a missing font warning in the console, but I am pretty sure that this has nothing to do with it, since they are fonts we are not using and all the other text from the same formats appears.
I tried turning off "Remember Missing Font Names" in preferences. No help.
I checked that the fonts are in the local directory and appear as embedded subsets in the PDF.
I also tried checking and unchecking the "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" option in the PDF output settings. Also no help.
The randomness of the missing fonts bewilders me and I've exhausted my own troubleshooting abilities. I would be happy to share a source file if anyone thinks they could help me that way.

There is a known bug in Windows XP that causes random dropped text in
PDF. The hotfix is here, though the link does not seem to be working at

Text Animation Presets do not load.

Text animation presets do not load in After Effects CC (or Adobe Bridge when browsing presets). They don't show up in Effects & Presets panel. I believe they used to show up but no longer. They are in the presets folder so I'm not sure why they won't load in either program.

They show up for me and everybody I know except you. Without knowing something about your system, about whether this is new behavior, and without knowing what if anything has changed on your system I have no idea how to help you.

Missing text in RoboHelp 7 when previewing/generating Frame files

This is a new issue for me. Until last week, it seemed to work fine. Now, though, whenever I import by reference my frame files I have noticed that, while they look fine in the Design view, when I click Preview it has missing text in parts. In one file, which was all text (no graphics), it was completely in Preview. Then, when I generated the help, that topic was still blank.
This doesn't always happen, though. Sometimes a topic is fine up to a point, then, all the text is gone, leaving only the screenshots. It generates that way also. On the other hand, some files come out fine, with no missing text. (This is only apparent in the Preview and generated help.)
I'm using TCS 1, that has RoboHelp 7, and I generate to WebHelp. I've applied an update that makes it 7.01.001. I've also applied the "missing space" fix that Peter Grainge suggested (it worked ).
Like I said, TCS worked fine up to last week, then I started seeing these missing chunks of text. I tried creating a new RH project and starting all over, importing only one small file that had all text and no screenshots/graphics. Both the preview and generated help came out blank, although I could see it plainly in the Design view before generating.
Has anyone else had this issue, or know what it might be?

Below is from one topic that didn't show any content at all for Preview or generated output, (taken from RH). That is, it showed nothing when I opened it in IE9, but in Firefox it displayed just fine. I tried replacing <head> with the one above (in the output), but it didn't seem to do anything. I'll keep trying, though!
