Hi, my iphoto had a transparent ? mark on it and wouldn't open so I dragged it onto the desk top and now it has disappeared... I cannot find it anywhere in my finder, it seems to be gone, please help!
You have one and possibly two problems.
First problem you tried to open the iPhoto library with iTunes and appeared to have set iTunes as the default app for iPhoto Libraries. That isn;t going to work.
To fix that select the iPhoto library in the Finder and do a File->Get Info. In the middle of the Info window you'll see Open With dropbox. Click on that and select iPhoto, then select the Change All button
This will get iPhoto back as the default app to open iPhoto Libraries.
Double click the library now and if nothing else is wrong iPhoto will open the library. If it does do as Michael wrote and go to the Applications folder and drag iPhoto to the dock to remake the shortcut.
However since you started this thread by saying that the iPhoto shortcut in the dock had a question mark on it it is possible that iPhoto is missing from your Applications folder. If it is post back.

After upgrading to Yosemite, my dock has disappeared, along with the dashboard and the wallpaper! Can anyone help? I'm using a MacBook Pro, retina, bought it last year.

I've just upgraded my iPhone from ios3 to ios6 and it has taken my phone back in time. My most recent photos and messages are dated from a year ago. My music is fine, just messages and photos are gone. HELP?
Restore the device using the most recent backup.
If you have not backed up the device recently, then there is nothing to restore. -

Why does the App store say 'download' to OSX Mavericks when i have already downloaded the update, and restarted the computer?
I can't find Mavericks icon on the dashboard or launchpad either! Help!It sounds like you've installed Mavericks. You can confirm this by clicking on the Apple located at the top left of the screen and choosing "About This Mac" from the menu. You should see a window appear with the text "Version 10.9.1" near the middle.
If it says "Version 10.9.1", then you've installed Mavericks. It still says "Download" in the App Store because you can still download the operating system after installing it. This is useful if you want to download it for a friend, or create a USB boot drive.

You can't delete it. Look on all your screens and inside all your folders. If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. This will restore the home screen to its original configuration but may move other apps around to do so.

Missing applications icon, app is installed and opens, but icon has gone
I just got a replacement iPhone 4S and restored the phone as a backup. Stupidly, the backup did not rearrange my apps back into the folders and so they were all separate. However, the amount of apps may have exceeded the amount of screens that can load, as a few of my apps simy disappeared. HOWEVER I can open the apps perfectly fine using the search function. I just can not locate the application at all. One of them is Facebook messenger which is a very distinguishable blue, but I can only open it from the search function and then by double clicking home for currently opened apps. What has happened to the actual app icon?
If you still can not find app then likely it has "disappeared" then you might have restricted access to it unknowingly. Go to settings > general > restrictions > disable restrictions > turn install apps on

I find that some labview objects do not link to any description or help information. For instance, when I drop a control, say the "file path control" from the "string & path" palette onto the front panel of a vi, there is "no description" available in the context help panel, there is no "help" option on the associated drop down menu, and there appears to be no corresponding entry in the labview help documentation when searching for "file path control". This seems to be true for most, but not all of the front panel controls. It is also fairly common to have difficulty finding results on search terms entered into the "search the labview help" dialogue. Very often I find quoted help entries on the labview web site that I can't locate on my machine. For instance, I spent a very long time searching the installed help documentation trying to figure out how to convert between the numeric value returned by a color box constant and the actual color contained within. A quick google search returned a Knowledge Base entry on your website titled "How Does a LabVIEW Color Box Interpret a Numeric Value for Color?" This entry quotes help documentation from a Labview product manual that explains how the color box constant is encoded. I realize that the entry on my machine may not be exactly the same as the entry quoted from your published manual, but darned if I can find anything that gives the slightest hint in my installed help documents. Is there something wrong with my labview installation?

When I place a pre-written function on the block diagram, a handy description pops up in the help panel, a detailed description is available in the labview help documentation and it has a nice help option on its drop down menu that I can click on for info. The controls that I select for the front panel are, of course, pre-written functions as well. That is to say; they were created by someone other than me and they do things in a specific fashion that might not be totally apparent (to a dummy like me). Because the drag and drop interface for building the block diagram is similar to the drag and drop interface for building the front panel, it instinctively feels like there should be some sort of description there of the control functions that come with labview, just like the descriptions of the block diagram functions that come with labview. I think what I was looking for might be the help button that I've managed to find by right clicking on the control object, then selecting properties from the drop down, then looking in the lower right hand corner of the properties section. Funny thing is, I read the path properties entry from the file path control that I dropped on the front panel, and I still can't figure out how the control selects the default search folder if it isn't specified, and I'm still not sure whether I can somehow programmatically set the default folder for all "file path controls" on the front panel at once. I'm still searching for that answer in the installed documentation because I feel like I should avoid posting lots of questions to the forum unless I'm sure that the answer isn't sitting right there in the documentation somewhere, which leads me to the second example, the color box constant conversion thing.
I read that same help description that you found which is why I was so confused to find that the number I was looking at was not a hexidecimal and had a different number of bytes than the help file specified. It turns out that if you create a color box constant on the block diagram and pick a color, any color, nothing up my sleeve- then create an indicator to output that color, you'll find that the color is not a hexidecimal alphanumeric with six values and three bytes, it is instead represented by a thirty two bit integer. that's one more byte than in the help description, and the integer didn't seem to have an obivious pattern in it that would give away how to turn a red green blue, three byte number into the 32-bit integer that the color box constant shoots out. So here's the official description from national instruments that tells me what the heck is going on with the color box color to integer conversion:
"A color is represented by a 32-bit integer, with the lower three bytes representing the red, green, and blue components of the color. For a range of blue colors, create an array of 32-bit integers where only the values of the low bytes change (the low byte contains the blue component). To create a range of gray colors, you need to create an array of 32-bit integers where the red, green, and blue values of each element are the same."
so you see there are four bytes with one byte empty that you have to assemble into an integer. or decode by doing the reverse.
and the quoted description is from the LabVIEW Picture Control Toolkit Reference Manual Version 1.0. But of, course, the description of how to convert from an integer into a color and vice versa must be in the regular documentation somewhere, because it's a fairly fundamental thing. So I looked in my installed help documentation again to see if I could construct a search phrase to find it, so I would be a little wiser about how to search for specific info in the help files, but I'm just not able to locate it. And, of course if I create a color box control and go into the properties and find the properties help button for the Framed Color Box Properties Dialog Box it doesn't actually say anything about what happens between you picking a color and it shooting a number over to the block diagram, which makes me think "Ok. there is a description of this pre-made control somewhere else, and I'm just not looking in the right spot to find it, because who would give you a big ol' palette of these pre-made controls to use, and leave you wondering what the heck some of the controls are doing when you use them?"
So I was thinking that I'm not looking in the right spot for documentation, or I'm not searching in the best way, or that maybe I'm missing part of the help documentation or something.

In the past, when I want to refresh a page, I've simply gone to the page reload icon on the toolbar. On the new version, I can't fin the reload icon. Sorry I know this is a very stupid question,, but I just can't find that reload icon. The toolbar is a lot different from previous versions, but I'm sure tht pesky icon must be there somewhere!!

You could also benefit from the looking at the article on [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars customizing the tool bar]. That will show you not only how to verify that you have the refresh button, but give you options on where it lives as well.

All but one of the images on the 'new tab' page are gone. I followed the FFox Help directions exactly & repeatedly. Nothing happened. The images are still gone. Restarting the computer did not help either.

The thumbnails on the about:newtab page are generated from the cache, so if the page is not in the cache or otherwise can't or won't (secure pages) be rendered as a PNG image then you will get an empty box.
*Do not use Clear Recent History to clear data like the cache and the history when you close Firefox
If there is no history then you get an about:newtab page with empty boxes (no URLs). -

Screen Turned darker and icons became pixellated. Help!
My screen has suddenly turned darker and the icons and files I open aren't sharp. They look a bit pixellated. What have I done and how do I fix it?? It's a brand new mac book pro. Only got it two days ago. The guest profile looks perfect. It's just my own profile. I did install google chrome and a game. I also downloaded a free app from the app store. Any help is appreciated!

When I try to enter codes for digital movie downloads it tells me "code redemption is temporarily unavailable. Try again later." Customer support has been no help. Anyone else have this problem?
Am sick of going back and forth with what has turned out to be worthless customer support. Have sent them so much info and pictures, no help. All they do is send me links for instructions on how to redeem the codes. I know how to redeem, I have redeemed at least 50 codes. To them I am obviously an idiot though. To me it seems to be a problem on their end, but can't get an answer from them on why it is telling me code redemption is unavailable. Please help! Anybody!Confirming my suspicions with every passing hour. Support on this forum is non-existent like the support from Apple support. But, you got my money now... why would you care?
