Water is bad. At least when it comes to anything that runs on electricity.
If you tried to turn it on immediately after it getting wet, you are probably in trouble. Everyones first instinct is to turn something on after they drop it in water or get it wet and that is the LAST thing you want to do at that point!
If you get any device wet, DO NOT TURN IT ON! You need to let is sit and dry out before you try to turn it on.
As for your specific case. Try letting it dry out completely, then try turning it on. Put it somewhere dry and warm for a day or two.
If it still does not work, you may be out of luck.

Macbook got wet...

A soda spilled near my macbook causing the top plastic with the glowing apple to get wet, along with the side with my USB ports. It was off when the spill occurred, and the battery was taken out immediately. Do you think it will still work? My brother said it will most likely work. Right now its sitting on a dry table drying. Immediately make a Genius Appointment and take it in for a check. Improperly treated liquid spills may seem innocuous, but in time can damage your computer.

My iphone 5s got wet, what should i do?

Yesterday, I was at a pool party with my friends and i brought my iphone 5s that was in a water-proofed bag(its like a ziplock bag but more secure) to the pool (for you know selfies and ****) and i put the bag with my iphone in my pocket then went in to the pool. Of course, I was very unsure with this idea but my friend said it'll be okay so i just left it in my pocket for just about 1 min or 30 sec in the pool because i got worried and checked it. WELL WHAT DID I KNOW, WATER WAS IN THE BAG BUT LITERALLY MY IPHONE GOT WATER DAMAGED BY A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER IN THE BAG. And yes, i checked if the bag would be secure many times before i went in the water. So after i realized that my phone got water damaged, i immediately wiped it with a towel and blow dried it for 10 min or so but nothing occurred, screen was still black. I was trying to find a bag of rice but of course, it was a pool party, noone has a bag of rice1?!?? So i just put my iphone to sit and didnt touch it until i got home. Today, it still doesnt show any signs of resurrection so im going to take it to apple this week.
Well, life isn't naive so i just accepted it plus im in apple care so whenever my phone gets damaged, it'll be repaired by apple but one thing i'm worried is about the data because it has been a month since i last backed up my phone.
Can apple retrieve my data (especially my photos, photos are so important)? What should i do to retrieve it in any way possible???

I had dropped what was my iphone 4s in the toilet once, panicked, got it out, dried it....came home left it overnight in RICE. Next morning it worked as if I had not dropped it. Give it a shot. Good Luck!

Hey, sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else, i havnt seen it most people after spilling Somthing on it cant turn it on well im having the oposite problem. i want to turn it off to dry out so i turn it off and put it on hold but randomly it switches itself back on....apart form this its fine it plays music and everything.. PLease HELP!

Quit trying to do anything with it, set it in a cool, dry place (such as a cupboard) for 5 - 7 days to let it completely dry out. After this connect it to power (a wall charger works best) and let it charge for at least 30 minutes. While it is still connected to power, Reset it (with the hold switch off, i.e., no orange showing, hold down the menu and center buttons for 6 seconds). You may have to Reset it several times, when it revives fully recharge it. If necessary, Restore it in iTunes and Resync.

Unibody macbook caps lock stuck on sound not working got wet.

My Macbook got wet due to a flower vase tipping over (cats) I have replaced the keyboard and the backlight, im thinking it needs a logic board. The sound dose not work and the computer comes on when its closed, caps lock stuck on. External keyboard works ok. thanks for your time

Iphone 4s got wet. Made a call of it worked fine. Then placed it in rice and tried to turn it off but it wouldnt. woke up to my alarm? will my phone be okay or should i wait to check it.

Let it sit, my iPhone got water damage, and it costs $200 to get a refurbished one (4S), so that's an option. There is no harm in letting it sit in rice though.

The damage has probably already been done since you powered it on after getting wet but... turn it off and put it in a bag of rice for 5-7 days. It might work after that.

My MacBook Pro got wet and I need help?

We just had a different air conditioner installed above my computer desk. Even though my MacBook Pro was not on top of the desk it still got wet. It soaked through the desk straight on to the pullout computer shelf onto my laptop. We soaked it in rice for a week. We just pulled it out and nothing. The light on the battery won't even light up. Any suggestions?? Is there somewhere I can go for a miracle fix (I'm in Salt Lake City, UT) or am I totally screwed???

The only thing you can do is take the MBP to an Apple store genius bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider for diagnostics to see what damage the water did. There is nothing more a user can do than you have already tried.
Note: it is not a good idea to publish hardware serial numbers on an open, public forum.

I assume these photos, or at least not all of them weren't in photo stream.
You should be able to recover your photos from a back up.

Just face facts - if water (or any other liquid) reached you logic board or any other electronic components, you're going to be the victim of corrosion.
Eventually, you'll need to have the logic board replaced. There are liquid sensors all over your MBP and the techs can tell if these have been activated. I wouldn't turn the computer on at all - if it were me, I would take it to your local Apple Store/AASP and get an estimate for repair. Rice & other desiccates may 'dry up' the liquid, but it won't undo the damage already done.
