Help! My new 3GS is STUCK!!

Just got my iPhone 3GS, let it charge, downloaded iTunes, installed, etc. During install, I was prompted to install the newer version software. While this was downloading, I was browsing iTunes and added some podcasts, and a couple of free apps. to be added on the next sync. .
I guess the software upgrade completed its download. I got an error message that went away before I could finish reading it, and my nice new phone froze. It is still froze, and I have no idea what to do. I tried to hold the power button in for a hard boot- no luck!!!
I will call AT&T in the morning. Has anyone else had a similar problem? As far as I know none of the items I added were synced to the phone.

I encountered the same problem with my new iphone 3GS last night while i was trying to update to os 3.0.1.(froxen connect to itunes screen-iphone stuck in recovery mode-and every attemt to perform the restore fuction resulted in the message "unknown error 3014"
After a lot of frustrating attemts to solve the problem using the solutions that were on apple's support site.I googled it and came up with this "http://blog.mcchouse.com/2009/08/iphone-os-301-update-error-3014.html that worked right away.It seems there is a servers issue that causes the problem.

  • Need help with new 3GS mail problems

I have a new 3GS v.4.1 about a week now, just getting around to setting up the mail. I synced through Itunes, checked the setting's. I can send email but not recieve. Can anyone help?

Any error message provided when the account is checked for new messages?
Under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, deselect Sync Mail Accounts followed by selecting Apply. Follow this by deleting and manually recreating the account on your iPhone. If this is successful, do not reselect Sync Mail Accounts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences or you will be right back where you started.

  • HELP - Brand new computer build - stuck in FF - NO BIOS

    Hi,
I have put together my very first PC build computer with ALL brand new hardware components.  I'm newbie when it comes to putting a whole build together.  I believe have connected all the necessary hardware components needed to the my new MSI 790FX-G70 motherboard and PSU (Ultra 750W).  When a start up the machine I have power and motherboard and all fans worked.  However, I'm not able to see the BIOS on the monitor.  Nothing actually is shown just blinking monitor green light on my Samsung 17 inch.  The motherboard reads only reads "FF" then in a few seconds the "FF" disappears for 1 second and the "HDD_LED" red light to flashs on the motherboard - this cycle just continues over and over.
So then I disconnected everything except for the motherboard, CPU, Graphics card, 8GB memory (along with the monitor, mouse & keyboard) Still getting same results - NO BIOS display - motherboard shows "FF" and then revs causing "FF" to disappear and the "HDD_LED" red light to flash on the motherboard.
Keep in mind, I have brand new components and no drivers or OS has been installed yet.  What can be checked to ensure proper installation - even thought I  followed the guide correctly.  Is there anything that can be reset safely.  I tried the reset button and nothing seemed to happen.  I also swapped out the graphics card and tried again still no dice.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thx.

I can't get any further than this now.  Any Suggestions???
Regarding the ram I'm using - I found several people using the same ram Gskill ran with their AMD Phemon II 955 without issues.

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode. i have tried to restore using itunes but it ends with a message saying there was an error and couldnt be restored

hi  desperately need help. my iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode... when i try and do the restore via itunes it goes through the motions but when it gets to the end it tells me there was an error and it couldnt be restored...  originally it was an ex contract phone that i had opened to orange from vodafone.. it was fine until i tried to do the ios 6 update

There is a way to get it recovered from the so called DFU mode. Try to restart the phone while holding the home and power button at the same time. Then try to connect it to iTunes and do the same again. If you try that again till it works you should be able to use your iPhone as before.

Apple recommends backing up the data when you're getting the battery replaced by them. So I assume that you will likely lose the data during this process.
Will the data on my iPhone be preserved?
No, during the service process all data on your iPhone will be erased. Before obtaining service, it is important to back up your data using iCloud or iTunes. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information while servicing your iPhone and does not offer any data transfer service. During service, Apple may exchange your iPhone with an iPhone that is new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability.
Following service, your iPhone may have a newer operating system (iOS) version and you will need torestore your data using the method used to back it up (iCloud or iTunes). As a result, you may also need to update your App Store applications to ensure compatibility with the newer iOS. If you experience a problem with an application purchased from the App Store, check to see if an update is available or contact the application vendor directly.

  • My iPhone 3gs is stuck on a dim black screen. Help!

My iPhone 3gs is stuck on a dim black screen that I can't get out of. I tried doing a hard reset and even restoring to factory setting to fix it. When I press the on/off button it switches from a solid black screen to a dim lit black screen. The fuctions seem to be working. The vibration works when I flip the switch on and off. The voice comand comes up when I hold down the home button. It even plays the iPod when I use the voice comand. When the dim lit black screen is up, the touch screen is non responsive. I just need a way to fix this phone. I know their must be a way. Please help!

  • Setting Up New 3GS - Dilemma!  Help Please!

I got my new 3GS from Orange today.
My previous iPhone was a factory unlocked 3G from Italy running on Orange.
I inserted my new SIM card, plugged the phone into my iMac and completed registration via iTunes.
I have not actually activated my SIM card with Orange because they're closed until 08:00 tomorrow but the 'phone is "operational" because the on-slider is there, all the icons are there and my 'phone number is shown correctly in iTunes.
Here's the bit that worries me:
In iTunes the page states: "An iPhone has previously been synced with this computer". It then gives me 2 options: (1) Set up as a new iPhone. (2) Restore from the back up of Joe Bloggs iPhone.
I want all the features that come with a "legal" iPhone contract, I want to keep my original 'phone no. which I've had since 1996 and I would prefer not to lose all of my calendars, contacts, purchased applications etc.
Which of steps 1 and 2 above do I select and do I need to still activate my SIM card with Orange?

Restore from your backup & you should be fine.

  • How do I connect my new 3gs iphone to itunes when i have a corrupted backup file

My iphone 3gs died (got stuck on the itunes screen) when I tried to upgrade it.  i never had a good backup for my phone but i tried to back up anyway. Didn't work.
Today I got a new 3gs at the apple store and now I'm trying to put everything back on it manually.  My contacts and calendar are in outlook.  My pictures are in a file on my computer.  My music is on my computer.  I don't know where my apps are (they were shown in itunes the last time I had my old phone plugged in).
So, the apple guy told me that he wouldn't restore the phone from back up, but i'm not exactly sure if that means I should reinstall itunes or just leave it as it is and set up my phone as a new device.  Any thoughts?

If you don't have a backup that is reliable, but all the components are there on your computer, I would start from scratch  and set it up as a new iOS device.

  • Which iOS version on a new 3Gs?

I'm looking at buying a new 3Gs in one week and was wondering which version of iOS it will come with. I've been reading about the Wifi troubles with version 4, so I'm hoping it comes with 3.x and I can just avoid upgrading until the issues are resolved. Thanks!

    Hello Deepak,
thank you for your helpful answer.
I´ve downloaded the latest MaxDB (7.8.02.27) from SAP SWDC.
As i wrote a detailed and good installation manual would be nice, since there are some new options in 7.8.
(e.g. private data path(?) and i would understand a little bit what i´m doing.
    Thank and Best Regards

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3

my iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3 and even itunes is not responding . and i m using newest software of itunes on mac. please help.

If you followed all of the steps within that article then it's almost always a hardware issue. Reason being is that if you attempted restoring the iPhone from another computer (as the article informs you to), and you are still stuck in recovery mode, it proves that it is not a problem with the iTunes installation on your computer.
