Help needed by new Iphone 4s owner
Help needed please - both my hubby and I have iphone 4s - I've just gone to download music onto my phone and have somehow managed to download all his stuff onto my phone and lost all of mine Is there anyway I can get my info back and delete his without restoring to back to factory settings (this was the first time I connected mine to the laptop to download and I'm not very good with the computer as you can see from my problem !) xx
Thank you but I've not managed to download any I tunes yet but have got all his contacts and none of mine - thats what I'm trying to restore (sorry if not clear in question but as I said before I'm useless on computers)

LoisYes, the tone is available and checked in iTunes under the Tones library.
Yes, it is also listed under the Tones tab for my iPhone, but it is grayed out.
Yes, tones are selected under "sources" in General Preferences, along with everything else.
SyncTones was NOT selected under the Tones tab for my iPhone. I did so and it synced.

Apple does not provide SIM cards, carriers do.
Go to your carrier and get a SIM card. Whether it is free or not is up to them. -
Help needed please, everytime I try to update the software version on my iphone it comes up with a message saying it could not be completed and is now frozen with the apple picture and progress bar on it. Do I unplug it and hope the macbook pro sees it again, I also stupidly did not back up before starting the download which I realise I will have to go back to the previous back up. This keeps happening, everytime I do this type of update, I'm starting to think I should just give up on updating my software on the Iphone. I thought it was happening because I was using a window based computer to do the updates, this time I used my Macbook Pro. Please somebody help

My wifi is on and when it tries to find a wifi connection, the gray little circle just keeps spinning and will not detect our home wifi. I have tried to search for it and connect to it manually, but it will not search for the network name. I'm hoping I don't need a new phone so please help.

I purchased ringtones through iTunes on a iPhone 3G and and iPhone 4S. Both of these phones were company phones. When I left that company in March 2013, I turned in the 4s to the company (still have the 3G). The day I turned in the old company phone, I went to my local AT &T store and purchased a iPhone 4S for myself and immediately changed my apple ID and password. While I have been apple to retrieve all of the music/songs I purchased through iTunes, I have not been able to retrieve any of the many ringtones I purchased on both the 3G and the original 4s. Can somebody please tell me how I can get these ringtones On my newer 4s? If need be, I can go to the company I worked for and use my old iPhone 4S. Thank you for your help.
You cannot redownload ringtones. They will only be where you put them.

My iPhone was needeing help, so i took it into the Apple store and they traded my old phone for a new, under Apple Care. I have a 3G. I brought it home and plugged it into my computer, to restore from backup. My iTunes said that I needed to update this new phone to software 4.2, from 4.1, before I could restore. So I said OK and then everything quit. My computer isnt even recoognising the phone. And right now, even though the phone is plugged into the computer now, the phone is telling me to plug it into iTunes.
Before I plugged in the phone, I was able to call and text normally. I just didnt have any of my contacts or other info saved to the phone.
Now, even if I try shutting it off, everytime I turn it back on, it shows the pictures telling me to plug it into iTunes..

Randomly, the Apple logo appears on the screen...
It doesn't turn itself back on and it stays there for hours. If I try to reset it holding the sleep/wake button it appears again and nothing changes. I need some help here...You may want to do a search on the forum and see what you can find. Many of us have the same problem. I've found the 2.0 firmware to be buggy and very sensitive. We have 2 phones at home, one original iPhone and one 3G. Both have locked up on the apple logo screen 2-3 times and we had to restore the phone which took between 3-24hours. (Worse yet when I got stuck in the restore loop.) All those times that locked up, we were either downloading apps from the app store or deleting apps off our iphone directly. Therefore, we've decided not to ever do any kind of installing or deleting of the apps on the phone...but only through sync that we would. I've updated to the new 2.02 firmware and it seems to be more stable than the older firmware.

Hi there.
I connected to my livebox after about three attempts. You have to pair the livebox by pressing either the number one or two that is on the box. When it is in pair mode it stays that way for ten minutes so it gives you chance to try your wep code that is on the bottom of the box a few times. I can't remember which one was successful but i did try the letters in uppercase and lower and one of them seemed to connect.

Help Needed re: New iMac SSD and Apps
I have a new MTO 27" iMac with the SSD option and I want to maximize the performance of my Apps and OS by having them resident on the SSD and not much else. I don't know what folders and files other than the .app files I need to move from my old PPC to achieve this. Please help as I am already a little confused about the content of the SSD vs the HDD. After moderate reading, I'm thinking I just want the OS (Lion) and my Apps on the SSD but I am using the Target Drive process vs Migration assistant. I already have moved my "out of the box" User home folder and its "Hidden" Library to my HDD on the new imac, but have NOT moved any of my old PPC Apps or other folders to the new iMac yet.
Should I put my User/Library/Applications Support Folder on my SSD if I mainly want my OS and Apps on the SSD? AND Can I just move/copy the folder to the new iMac using the Target Drive process from my old PPC?
I'm open to other ideas about what files s/b on SSDI've seen a few Discussion Threads regarding these new iMac setups with the two internal drives (SSD + HDD). Some folks are advocating for keeping all Apps/OS files on the SSD exactly as you mention. Then they come up with a scheme for keeping their whole home folder on the HDD and it's seamlessly done so that the Mac doesn't complain that your home folder isn't in the default location.
