Help needed cpu 0 caller panic

Hi everyone,
I tried to update the iTunes on my macbook pro last night to the 11.1 version and then there was an error with my update. the next time i started my laptop, it just says:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8009459241): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2050.20.9/iokit/Kernek/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1 548
Debugger called: <panic>
amd so on..
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I went to my local Apple Store today and they were completely useless and wouldn't book me in for an appointment until next week. Could you please help me?
Many thanks,
icmacbook

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it.

  • Help needed to interpret kernel panic

    Hello everybody
Recently I've had a couple of kernel panics on my MacBookPro 13'' (OSX Lion 10.7.2 version, 2,26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3)
The last one occured today : I was opening Google Earth (the last version) to see the GPS position of a boat( from a link with the GPS coordinates taken from a website). Itunes and Safari were running, and also a PDF document.
The Kernel panic appears few seconds after opening Google Earth.
I also replaced memory and hard drive few weeks ago, and I just hope I didn't do something wrong.
here is the panic log :

  • Help needed with frequent Kernel Panics

    Hi all
I've been having panics on my g4 for about a year now, sometimes 4 or 5 a day. They started when I was on 10.3 somewhere.
I have been updating and now am on 10.4.11 but it has made no difference. The panics can come as I'm booting up (when the finder appears), when loading cubase, sometimes even when I move the mouse. I originally thought it may be the M-Audio Delta44 sound card as it sometimes happens when I switch the system sound to play via the delta44, but I have also had panics when using Adobe Illustrator as well. Unfortunately I can't remember at what point they started. I do have an extra monitor on the g4 but have disconnected that and still get panics. I zapped the pram on Monday and that seems to have held them off for a few days. Here are the logs for the past week (sorry it's a long file), I am hoping some of you fine people may be able to shed light on what's causing them.
    Thanks
    G

Another KP last night. So probably not mouse related.
This log doesn't seem to mention any hardware/software, is that relevent? Can anyone make sense of it?

  • BRF+ - Help Needed for Procedure Call for FM RFC_READ_TABLE

    Dear Guru,
This is meant to be a prototype.  Scenario is this based on a Centralize BRF+ Services with Satalite Systems.  In this context lets assume two SAP Box. Box A (SAP ERP), Box B (BRF+ Server 7.02 NW SP6)
Busienss Rule is simple - Expose Customer Validation Service in BRF+ with Input of One Field (KUNNR) and Output of BOOLEAN (Yes, No).
Suggested Function Module - RFC_READ_TABLE with Destination in Box A(SAP ERP).
    RFC_READ_TABLE
    My question is:
    1. Is Procedure Call Expression the right object to use for RFC?
    2. Where can I specify the RFC Destination?
    3. If not, should I create a New Function Module Wrapper that meant to call RFC_READ_TABLE with Destination?
    4. Procedure Call Expression WebDynpro,  I am not able to specify "Assigned Value" for Parameter "OPTIONS" which is a table.
I am able to specify other Parameters such as "QUERY_TABLE" and "OPTIONS"
    Thanks
    Leonard
Edited by: Leonard Tan on Mar 19, 2011 6:26 AM

I would create a local wrapper FM on BOX B to call into Box A for the table read. Maybe this would also allow to buffer the data locally in case it has to be read multiple times.
The procedure call as of today does not allow to do remote calls. Therefore you have no option to specify an RFC destination.
For the use of tables maybe create an error message. I could not follow your instructions.
Also consider to implement SP7 as soon as it is available. We did quite some corrections.

  • Help needed with so-called "updates"

I just now downloaded the "latest" adobe flash update, as prompted by Adobe.  Now I discover that the version downloaded on my computer is NOT the latest update.  This takes 45 min to do - what's up with this?  Why did it not give me the latest update?????  I have work to do on the computer and just cannot continue to take 45 min off to update something that isn't an update.

This particular forum (sharing and storage) was created to help those transitioning from Photoshop.com to Adobe Revel. I am moving your post to the proper forum so that it can get proper attention.
We also have many other forums relating to other Adobe products at: http://forums.adobe.com.

  • PLEASE HELP:  I deleted all my Kernels, and I get a "panic (cpu 0 caller...) during startup.

    Hello,
I use the forum all the time to find solutions to problems, and my Mac was slow so I went to this discussion: "kernel_task high memory usage" and I thought I had to delete my kernel extensions based on what several users said worked for them.  In retrospect it says to delete them for printers, but I accidentally and ignorantly deleted them all.
I restarted my computer and what I get is a quick start to the gray screen and the the apple logo.  On the gray screen I get a bunch of white text in black backgrounds.  It says:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff800a2c3221): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI".\n"@SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2422.110.17/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1 533
    Debugger called <panic>
Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address
and then it has numbers and letters and a : and more numbers and letters
it says aslo "can't perform kext scan: no kext summary
BDS process name corresponding to current thread: unknown
    Mac OS version:
    Not yet set
    Kernel version:"
and it has all the version and other information.  I don't know if you need it to solve the problem.  I can type it up if it's necessary.
I tried holding the shift button to start in safe mode but that doesn't help.  How can I backup my data to an external hard drive?  Some important data is not currently backed up and I don't have a time machine.  I just made several copies of data that's important.  How can I make sure I don't lose anything in the process of fixing my computer?
The computer is MacBook Pro And I think I had Mavericks installed on it.
what do I need to do to backup my data and to fix the computer?  Do I need to reinstall the OS?  If so, how can I do that?  I didn't have an original cd or DVD that came with the computer.  And I upgraded my os through a download.
I Know I did a stupid thing, and it would mean the world if someone can help me resolve this.  Thank you so so much.

    VitoK1,
I’m glad to learn that you’re able to use your MacBook Pro again. To back up your files (as a bit of insurance against future disk problems, so that a disk problem won’t wipe out all of your personal files), you can use the Time Machine app, which is different from the Time Capsule hardware. The Time Machine app can be used with an external disk of your choice; it’s not limited to being used with Time Capsules. As backup software goes, it’s pretty painless. This Apple page has information on how to set up an external disk to be a Time Machine backup destination, and on what needs to be done to set up regular backups of your Mac to that external disk.

please help errror message panic cpu 0 caller 0x563ebd Unable to find driver for this platform) i started recieving this message upon booting up with the start up chime after foolishly deleting the Apple USB ethernet host in teh system/extensions folder.I Was hoping this would be a repair for a minor error message i was recieving after a recent itunes update & it has gone from minor error message to system no start.any suggestions,i dont have the original snow leopard OSX install disc but if i get one will this fix the problem or have i destroyed my mac,,please help

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

If you can't do that either, then you will probably need to reinstall 10.6.

    Hello jayparks41
There are a few things to try and the article below can walk you through them before trying to hunt down a Snow Leopard install disk. I will say that it may come down to reinstall Snow Leopard but also before any troubleshooting, make sure to have a safe copy of your data.

In your case, I would simply do a #8 Reinstall OS X, that will wipe out all third party at boot kernel extension files and give you a nice clean new OS X free of corruption. This way it also clear ones your not using anymore.
..Step by Step to fix your Mac
Then I would see if the machine ran fine like that (minus some programs of course without their kernel extensions) with no KP's, if there are some more then it's one of the other programs your using currentl and reintall those.
If everything is fine, check for updates for those programs with at boot kernel extensions and install them one at a time carefully and seee when your problem returns.
Also run further through the Steps to eliminate any other issues.

  • Help on how to fix macbook pro 13inch 2010 (cpu 1 caller 0x47f5ad)?

help on how to fix macbook pro 13inch 2010
Hi, I need some peoples help on fixing my laptop. I have a macbook pro 13 inch 2010 model, and it refuses to boot into either osx or windows. Every time I prevoiusly treid to boot into mac osx I got this error "panic (cpu 1 caller 0x47f5ad)". there is an image below. and when I had treid to boot into windows (bootcamp) I got this error "A disk read error occured Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart". I have treid to restart the computer and gotten both these errors agian. The strange things is this deosn't always happen, sometimes I don't get any errors, and it just has the apple logo whith the spinning loading thing happening below (I left this for an hour and it still kept spinning, and never loaded). Other times it just show white whith no errors but never loads, sometime it lets me alt to select which os to boot into (nether work), but other times it just freezes and shows a mouse cursor on the white background. it's not consistent.
Most recently it has a flashing folder on a white background. I treid inserting my osx disc and went into disc utility but it doesn't detect my hardrive. It may be a faulty hardrive or sata cable but I dont know (I have links below). I was recently (well for the first time), defragmenting my windows partition, it hit temparatures of 80-85C, and stayed at that for several hours throughout the defragmentation, would this have damaged it?
I have scoured the internet and found many people whith very similar problems to me but none whith the same, and A lot of people saying that if you get the error you should just use a time machine backup, the thing is I don't have a time machine backup. The internal hardrive I am currently using on my laptop is a seagate 640gb 5400rpm (it's not an apple harddrive). every thing else it standard, standard ram and no overclocking, I was running 10.6.8 snow leopard, and windows xp profesional 32bit (split 320gb each, whith about 10gb spare on each parttion).
It would be greatly appreiciated If any one could shed some light on what I should do. I need the laptop working whithin the week (for my tafe work), but If I have to reinstall the OS's and programs it could take a long0I have a lot of programs and that could take a month. not to mention The fact that the hardrive might be completly fine and it's just a faulty sata connection. but then would I still be getting an error if thats all thats wrong?. and if it is just the error is there anyway I can fix it whitout doing a fresh install, there a error reading document blow but I cannot make heads or tails of it. I also have almost no money to afford getting it fixed.
also one last thing, I stupitidely inserted my mac osx disc 95% of the way into my macs slot loading drive when it was powered down (off). when I turned it on it sucked it in fine, but would that have caused any damage to the disc or laptop (I cannot eject the disc to check)
I have images of many of the things I described below. So any suggestions.
I have also posted this on several other websiets if that helps)

The problem may be that your macbook is'nt set to 'mirror image' if you go into settings, onto 'displays' there should be an option within, once youre connected, to 'mirror image' if you check this box, then the problem should be sorted, if not then maybe a dodgy cable or adapter.

    Hi Hatter,
Thank you for the feedback, I am already in the process of doing those steps before I wrote this question. The reason I am posting this is because I would really like to see if others have experienced problems with this. I want to be prepared with information when I have my appointment with the genius bar (this is my production mac and I need to finish up a project before I can get some known issues fixed).
By knowing if others have seen issues with cpu 2 this will help me in understanding the problem and know if I'm getting the correct information from the genius bar. IE I don't want to be back at the bar with my HEAVY mac pro trying to troubleshoot this over a long period of time if someone here has seen a similar message and I can shortcut what might be a long and tedious process of fixing this.
AGAIN, thank you for the feedback but I am doing those steps.

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.
When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the Mac OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac didn’t ship with Lion, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
Don't install the Thunderbolt update -- it's defective.

  • "panic message" with ACPI, (panic(cpu 0 caller 0x003A8DBD))

    hi:
As "aimili", in this forum topic:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6955755
I have the same big problem (sorry, my english is...).
Like he or she: "I just tried to install the latest updates into my Macbook, and without warnings it just shut down and tried to restart by itself"
I'll "copypaste" my text from that topic - a nice user, BDAqua, has suggested me do that:
" I have a macbook and it happens the same: aimili's "panic message" with the ACPI, (panic(cpu 0 caller 0x003A8DBD)).
Besides, my CD-Unit don't works (it crashed some months ago, so I can't use my "Install Disc"). This is a very disgusting situation. Please, help. There is no other OS installed in the computer. I can't do anything. Really.
Please, I need more information about how to re-start/reset/etc. the computer without the cd's.
    thanks a lot

Get a Firewire hard drive at least as big as your internal drive from http://www.macsales.com/ and if you can't boot the machine in Target Disk Mode and don't have another machine, Prosoft Data Rescue and Subrosasoft Filesalvage. If you do have another machine and can't boot the Mac normally, try Target Disk Mode described here to recover information:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
Copy data over to the external hard drive drive with a backup software such as Shirt Pocket Superduper if it can see the damaged Mac.
If the machine is not visible in Target Disk Mode, then use Subrosasoft Filesalvage or Prosoft Data Rescue to recover to the external hard drive. You can do this even if you don't have another Mac to Target Disk Mode copy as both these utilities are bootable from CD. If neither of these utilities boot the Mac by using the Startup Manager:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106178
And you don't have another Mac, take it in to repair the hardware.
You may also want to use the original discs to see if there is a hardware issue:
