But now it is greyed out as shown in the disk utility and its name changed, i dont know how that happened, i tried verifying and repairing it but had no luck. I also tried mounting and unmounting it but still no solution. Anyone to help please?

Looks bad. I would strongly advise backing up the stuff on the other two partitions as soon as possible in case the rest of the drive goes wrong.
Beyond that, Disk Utility has limited abilities to repair disks, DiskWarrior uses a different approach and might, emphasis might be more successful. It has certainly done the job for me in the past when Disk Utility could not.

You can try two possible steps:-
1]Triple click the home button. You should get an accessibility menu.deselect the negative/black and white option.
2]Go to settings->General->accessibility->and deselect invert colours.
That should fix it

It is extremely important you realise.. the Time Capsule was never designed for this.
It is a backup target for Time Machine.. that is the software on the computer that does backups.. it has no direct connection to the Time Capsule.
It has no ability to back itself up.. unlike all other NAS in the market. It is therefore likely one day you will lose all your files unless you seriously work out how to backup.
The TC is slow to spin up the hard disk and fast to spin down. iTunes and iPhoto will continually lose connection to their respective libraries.
iPhoto in particular is easy to corrupt when you move photos over wireless into the library.. once corrupted all is corrupt. A single photo will ruin it all.. so backup is utterly essential.
Time Machine cannot do backups of network drives. ie the TC. You will need a different backup software like CCC. You will then need another target to backup to..

Contacts are synced with a compatible programme in the computer; in the iCloud or with Yahoo and Google Mail. You can directly "edit" a contact on the phone and/or within the programme that you are syncing your contacts with.
Have you configured/setup mails on your iPhone? If yes, check the contents of the mail account(s) individually. (including iCloud) from SETTINGS - MAILS, CONTACTS, CALENDARS
"Contacts" if chosen from the mail account (s) would add email addresses to your contacts.

Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.

I had created a partition in my drive, one of which was protected. Unfortunately, I do not remember the password. How do I open that partition? Most of the features are greyed out when I go to disk utility? Help Please!!!

I had created a password protected partition on my drive and unfortunately have lost that password. Please guide me if the drive can be partitioned? To give some more details - I had created 3 partitions, one is main start up drive, then 2nd partition which was password protected and the 3rd partition without password again.

Hi,
i'm trying to open up more space on my hard drive by doing a full erase. Available space is about 6GB on a 80GB drive. Running OS X 10.4.11. on a Mac Book Black. Want to install 10.6. SL.
In Disk Utility the Volume Format box is greyed out. It's set as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
How can i change it?

I have firefox for several years on my Ubuntu operating system, and i tried and failed to update it, dont know how my ex friend put originally put on firefox, ?

Please help a desparate man, smile. A computer tech, , put ubuntu on my computer and installed firefox several years ago. Now when I try to update it to the new version, it wont update. I do see a note on the firefox instructions that if linus was placed on my computer with a distribution package, I think it said, whatever a distribution package is, I have to wait for an updated version, I think it said. I dont know if the tech who installed it used a distrution package and he is gone elsewhere and I cant ask him. I am a computer imbecile so thats all I know, and I cant get to many sites now because they only take updated firefox, PS I dont see any word help to click, where is this word located if I ever need to use it? Also lately after I tried to update firefox, not before, when I try to download anything to view that thing that starts with a p, three letters, like a medical article, it wont take me there, I merely get a box saying I am trying to dowload it, maybe that is linked to me not having an updated version of firefox. Please remember in your answer, I know almost nothing about computers. Thanks a lot. .

Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) is an old version of Linux from 2009. You're gonna need to upgrade to a newer operating system to use a more recent version of Firefox.
My advice is to consult with the Ubuntu support forums to find out if your PC can support the latest version of Ubuntu, or if you should switch to a different "flavor" of Linux.

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode
