Help needed in Time format

Hi
I am using oracle 9i . Is there any option to change the time format ie. for eg: when iam inserting values (in the fields declared as timestamp) as '22-06-2005' it is showing errors but when changed to '22-jun-2005'it is working. In my case i want the values to be inserted in '22-06-2005' format.
Also is it posssible to change dd-mm-yyyy format to yyyy-mm-dd.
Thanking you in advance
Dinny

Hi
When i create a having 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT = ''YYYY.MM.DD HH24:MI:SS''' the time format is not getting intialized but when i run the stmt ALTER SESSION SET NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT = 'yyyy-mm-dd'; the time format is getting initialized.
SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE set_date_format
2 AS
3 BEGIN
4 Execute Immediate 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT = ''YYYY.MM.DD HH24:MI:SS''';
5 END set_date_format;

  • Help in generating time format

    Hi All,
    I got a request to generate date in below format.
    "2007-01-02T15:44:36+11:00".
    My question is: is the 'T' in it a standard format for GMT? What's the 'T' meaning here?
    I tried SimpleDateFormat, but still couldn't get that.
    See my code:
    SimpleDateFormat formatDate = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-ddHH:mm:ssZ");
    System.out.println(formatDate.format(new Date()));
    The output is:
    2007-03-0811:30:31+1100
    But how can I make it "2007-03-08T11:30:31+1100"
    Is this a starand time format in Java?
    thanks and regards,
    auiagman

    Hi,
    Here is the Sample code
    SimpleDateFormat formatDate = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
              SimpleDateFormat formatDate1 = new SimpleDateFormat("HH:mm:ssZ");
              System.out.println(formatDate.format(new Date())+"T"+formatDate1.format(new Date()));
    I hope this will fullfill your need.

  • Help needed in Time Capsule configuration

    Hello everybody,
    sorry in advance for the probably dummy questions, but I have just bought a Time Capsule and would like some advice in order to obtain the best possible configuration for my needs (the configuration guide was not so clear to me).
    I linked the TC via Ethernet to my modem/router (I have a Vodafone Station 2), and I have the following requirements:
    1) let the TC become the primary WiFi source: what is the best way to do it? Shall I deactivate the Wi-Fi on the Vodafone Station? Shall I create a new network or extend the existing one?
    2) create a guest network (possibly with another password): I can I do it? I didn't succeed in doing it...
    3) I would like to use the TC internal hard disk both as a sort of reporitory for my MacBook Air backup, and at the same time as an external hard disk; can I do it directly or should I create a partition on the disk?
    4) I would like to add another external HD via USB to the TC, in order to have access to its content through various devices (MacBook, iPhone, iPad, PC) linked to the WiFi network. Also in this case I couldn't get it... How should I do that?
    5) Finally, I have a question: is it possible to remotely access (e.g. via 3G) the TC hard disk?
    Thank you in advance for any help you can give me!!

    You do not want to extend.. well actually you cannot extend a non-apple router.. so put that out.
    The TC will probably have to be in bridge mode.. but it can become the primary wifi source.. simply create a wireless network. Turn off wireless in the vodafone station.
    But from your other requirement of a guest network.. you cannot do that in bridge on the TC.. so why not use the vodafone station as your guest network. Give TC wireless a different name. Fix the channels. Try to have them sit a bit apart from one another.. A few Meters at least.
    2) create a guest network (possibly with another password): I can I do it? I didn't succeed in doing it...
    You cannot do guest network with the TC in bridge. So you need to either bridge the modem and use pppoe client in the TC.. that depends on if your ISP supports PPPoE authentication.
    3) I would like to use the TC internal hard disk both as a sort of reporitory for my MacBook Air backup, and at the same time as an external hard disk; can I do it directly or should I create a partition on the disk?
    This is not really a good idea.. You cannot partition a TC.. Mixing data and backups can be done but it is not necessarily going to work well. The primary design of the TC is a backup target for TM and mainly looking at laptops.
    Look at Q3 here. http://pondini.org/TM/Time_Capsule.html
    Pondini is our guru on all things TM.
    Particularly remember any files offloaded to the TC have no backups.. And TC is not reliable enough to trust. It is a single hard disk and has no form of automated backup.. nor can TM backup a network drive. Any backup of info on the TC has to be done manually.
    4) I would like to add another external HD via USB to the TC, in order to have access to its content through various devices (MacBook, iPhone, iPad, PC) linked to the WiFi network. Also in this case I couldn't get it... How should I do that?
    The USB port of the TC is renowned for being underpowered even if the hard drive is powered you might need a powered hub. Some hubs work and some don't so even that is not simple.
    USB drive has to be formatted Mac Extended Journelled. Or fat32.
    5) Finally, I have a question: is it possible to remotely access (e.g. via 3G) the TC hard disk?
    In your case the answer is probably.. but this will not be easy.
    Apple's only method is BTMM via iCloud, but the TC must be the main router in the network.
    That means you need to bridge your existing modem.
    You might be able to get it to work via the existing modem. Please google remote access time capsule.
    You will need to port forward AFP to the TC in the modem and use ddns to find the correct address unless your ISP has given you a static IP.
    Sorry for the glass half empty answer.

  • Help needed for Time Calc Java Script

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a timesheet in PDF and have hit a speed bump. Is there anyone there who could provide me with a script that calculated the difference between 2 times? (Field2 time)-(Feild 1 Time) = Duration.I am desperate and have tried everything.
    I proccess the payroll for a company and all of the 500 or so timesheets that I received each fortnight are paper copies and I am pulling my hair out. I need to use Adobe forms (We have Adobe Pro 9 and I am using the XML forms, not live cycle) as the serach engine that we use for emails cannot search on excel documents.
    I have no Java script experience and I am getting completely lost in the subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks anyone who can help at all.

  • Help needed with File Formats (Save As...)

    Somewhere upgrading versions of Photoshop (Mac), some old File Formats have remained. The result is that I cannot properly select a File Format to Save As... except the native PSD format. Others have to be selected by selecting a format below the one on the list, meaning that I cannot select TIFF because there are no formats below this one. (Accepted formats http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7758a.h tml#WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7754a)
    I've looked in the Plugins folder and there are no strange file formats there. I checked Library>Application Support>Adobe>Plug-Ins but nothing there. I've tried searching the entire hard drive for Compuserve GIF (one of the offending file formats) but nothing matches.
    I give up trying to figure out where some of the problem plugins are located. As you can see from the image below, selecting Multi-Picture Format actually will save it as a jpg. From reading Adobe's formats, I think CompuServe GIF is causing part of the problem. I don't know what other one.
    Or it may be that I just need to reset something so all formats are properly recognized. Can anyone help?

    Curt,
    That is great information. Unfortunately I've already checked the preferences and do not have an additional plugin folder specified.
    Suppossedly, according to the information from Adobe, the only place plugins should be loaded is in the Photoshop > Plug-Ins folder, or possibly Library>Application Support>Adobe>Plug-Ins (according to the link you provided). There is nothing there.
    When I look at Photoshop > About Plug-ins I see that, for example, there are two (2) versions of CompuServe GIF format. Obviously one is old from a previous install/update, but I cannot find it anywhere. If I could find it, I could remove it. I suspect that is one of the conflicts causing my problem, but I see no way in Preferences to remove a plug-in. The link you gave says to move it outside the folder, but it presupposes you can even find the offending plug-in, which I cannot.

  • Help needed with Time Machine multiple drives set up

    Hello, I need help in finding out if what I want to do is possible.
    I upgraded to Mountain Lion today as I understood it can handle multiple back up drives. I see how to add a 2nd back up drive, however I do not see a way to put different folders onto different drives.
    iMac - backed to a 3TB DRIVE A via the time machine
    iPhoto Library original file - already on the 3TB DRIVE A - so no back up for now!
    What I'd like to do is to also back up only the iPhotoLibrary file to a 2nd drive - lets call it 3TB DRIVE B
    Can it be done with Mountain Lion or not really? I don't even seem to be able to exclude files from an External Disk actually.
    Any other software I could use that would do the trick?
    Or do I have to rearrange our already messy set up? I've put the iPhoto Library on the DRIVE A as its a faster drive. but I guess the solution would be to put the iPhoto Library original file onto the slower Drive B and only keep the iPhoto file on it?
    Hmm any help or tips greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    So here's my question: After reinstalling system TM started normal back-up procedure and I get message not enough space on external disk. I use 200Gb for around 100Gb that I have on my computer (I know not so much but works well for me). What I do not get is why does TM need around 30% more space compared to the space I'm using (wants to back-up 130Gb) and why is it not backing-up the system I've just installed but tries to back-up everything from scratch? Is there a procedure to back-up only changed files since the last version?
    Ordinarily, that's exactly what TM does. But this situation isn't ordinary. Everything you restored is considered "*new to that disk"* and will be backed-up again. See #14 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum, and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1338
    The 30% you ask about is actually 20%; the initial estimate of the space needed might be low, and TM needs workspace on the TM disk, so it adds 20% (see #7 in the FAQ Tip.)

  • Help needed Regarding Time Problem

    Dear all,
    I am using FM POINT_IN_TIME_CONVERT to convert seconds into HH:MM:SS format.But once HH bcome more than 24,it starts from 00 amd hence my total time goes wrong.What can i do?Is there any other FM?

    Hi Rahul,
    You have picked up the right function module.Do as following -
    This FM have default date 01.01.1980 . Keep in mind that this date have got changed every 86,400 seconds and your time counter reset after that.
    At last you need to calculate difference of date and simply add 24 * ( difference you got ) into your hour counter. Thats it.Done.

  • Help needed in getting formatted output ?

    Hi members,

    Any help will be appreciated.
    With regards
    Real Napster

    It's the statement you're using to print to the console:
    println() means print, then go to next line.
    print() doesn't go to the next line.
    So:
    System.out.println("1");
    System.out.println("2");
    Gives
    1
    2
    But System.out.print("1");
    System.out.print("2");
    Gives
    12

  • Help needed in soaprequest formatting in Objective C.

    Hello, Good evening.
    Please can someone help me in fortmatting my code, I have been trying for 2 days to pass the correct parameters to a web service without success. Due to the issues with wsmakestubs i was unable to use the inbuilt WS methods in ocjC, so i decided to roll my own Soap request..
    the problem im hitting now is with double quotes and the removal of them in the compile.
    Please find below my code, and i do hope someone out there will be able to assist.
    these two lines error on compile due to the double quotes on line one around the "(1.0)" and "(utf-8)"... my code needs to keep this in the row.
    line two same again double quotes are needed around the paths. but build they error.
    <<<Start of Code>>
    [soapRequest appendString:@"<?xml version="(1.0)" encoding="(utf-8)"?>"];
    [soapRequest appendString:@"<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"<xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3 .org/2001/XMLSchema-instancexmlns:xsd=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema>""];
    Thanks again.!
    Regards
    Iain Smith

    Usually the standard escape sequence is to use a backslash before the double quote. I have not tried that in Objective-C, but would be surprised if it does not work.

  • Help needed big time

    can some 1 pls help i have just got a Apple I Mac Power PC G3 Processor Speed: 333 MHz Memory (RAM): 160 MB i only wanted it for itunes but its come with no software at all and i have got a clue about apple macs what so ever is there anyway of buying the disks i would need to restore and could any 1 point me in the right way of a guide that can help me set this up it Includes OS 9.2 but i real dont no the first thing about them and very keen to learn more if any 1 could help pls thanks apple newbe

    If you want to use the iTunes store you will have to upgrade to at least OSX 10.2 (Jaguar), more probably (Panther), or possibly even Tiger (10.4). As I said before, you'll have to double check on the iTunes forum which version is required for the minimum version of iTunes you will need in order to get access to the store.
    Although you theoretically have the minimum RAM in order to run Panther, it helps to have at least double what you currently have. A 6 GB drive is also very small for running OSX because not only does the OS require a lot of space for permanent files it also make a lot of temporary files. You might be able to just run the OS but you wouldn't be able to fit any music on the drive!
    So right now I'd say you are looking at getting a bigger drive, more RAM, and buying an OS for this computer to do what you want to do. I haven't looked at the used prices for Jaguar or Panther but Tiger is currently going for around $70+ used.
    If you didn't want to use the iTunes store you could pretty much use the computer as it is right now (depending upon how much music you have). If you want to do a clean install of OS9 you will have to purchase (used) a retail version OS9 CD which is gold in color (not a gray one).
    P.S. It isn't the spelling, which is fine, it is the lack of punctuation that makes it very difficult to read and will discourage others from replying.

    This is a bug on Lion and 7.6 firmware and greater on the TC..
    There is no fix.. Ring applecare and ask why it does that.
    I suspect Apple will have no idea. Although we have plenty of posts here with the same issue.
    I can suggest a bunch of stuff.. nothing from what I gather is a cure.. but it might help.. perhaps this will be auto fixed in ML.
    I stick with SL as it has decent networking btw.. and no issues.. !! If you are still on SL you should not have issues if you go back to 7.5.2 firmware on the TC.
    First off, tell us a bit more.
    Is the TC part of the network, bridged or router or setup independently of the network. Not sure what the virgin hub is.. but please describe the network a bit more.
    Try going back to 7.5.2 firmware.  Apparently can be very difficult for the most recent versions of TC but if you run lion you should also try it.. download the 5.6 airport utility if not already using that, and try to go back to earlier firmware.
    Other things..
    Reset the TC and use short no spaces names for TC and wireless. Pure alphanumeric.. no special characters. Is the TC main router.. ?? set the dhcp server to short lease time. Like 10min.. if the virgin hub is the router do the same in that.
    Are you connecting by wireless.. ?? Lock the wireless channels and use different name for 5ghz from 2.4ghz to prevent wireless clients jumping around.
    When you lose the TC next time.. open terminal and ping it.. by name and ip address.. tell me what happens.

  • Help needed with timer codes

  • Help needed with Time Machine

    I've installed Boot Camp because I wanted to play an old game. I understood eventually that laptops are not made for that purpose (my one year old MBP was heating too often and I didn't like that). Unfortunately even during that period I've started experiencing some oddness when switching to Snow Leopard 10.6.2. Eventually I've decided to uninstall Windows and after three hours playing with Snow Leopard in order to make it as it was before I understood I'm not qualified enough to mess with plists and I do not know what else, so brut force solution - reinstalling entire system from the Time Machine.
    Everything now works very fast, very nice, I've saved time doing that (soooo happy TM saved my life ... again).
    What I'm doing know is just saving old back-up on a second external drive (just in case if something goes wrong) and I'll "clean" my primary TM disk and then install again ... of course if somebody knows how to force TM to back-up only the files that changed ...
    Thanks in advance and cheers,
    Sharlo

    Ordinarily, that's exactly what TM does. But this situation isn't ordinary. Everything you restored is considered "*new to that disk"* and will be backed-up again. See #14 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum, and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1338
    The 30% you ask about is actually 20%; the initial estimate of the space needed might be low, and TM needs workspace on the TM disk, so it adds 20% (see #7 in the FAQ Tip.)

  • Trigonometry problem- help needed big time!

    Hello, thanks for clicking. I am filling in a Flash template
    for a client- and the template purchased turned out to be in
    Spanish. I don't speak more than 2-3 words of Spanish and I'm stuck
    in one place. I don't think Spanish is required to solve the
    problem, if you're already good at trig. Can someone please help me
    out?
    Here is what I need to fix. The "rollaround" menu at the top
    of the page here-
    http://www.rollwiththetank.com/l2
    is not lining up correctly when the 3rd, 4th, and 5th menu
    buttons are clicked. Try them out and see what I mean. If this code
    was in english I know I would be able to crack it, but as it is I'm
    stumped.
    Here is the code controlling the rollaround-
    Thanks to anyone who can help clue me in on what I'm
    missing.

    Sorry I don't speak Spanish either, this is where I go when I
    need it

    can someone PLEASE help me please!!

    First, let's make sure you're resetting properly;
    Hold the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons until you see the Apple logo to reset. It may take several attempts and is best performed while connected to power. You may need to hold the two buttons for ten seconds or so before it actually resets.
