Help needed on adding 2 new fields.
Hi gurus,
I have a existing data model which is from the flatfile to ods to cube. The new user requirement is for 2 new fields which would be based on a existing field that is already there in the data model. the change is going to be based on a existing field that is field A.
The user have now provided with a new flatfile which is a lookup table, this flatfile this flatfile relates the existing field A with new fields Field B and C. the way in which the fields A,B and C are related are Field A is the lowest catagory in the hierarchy and field B is a sub catagory and Field C is the main catagory.
i need to bring in these 2 new fields can out there help me out on how to handle this scenario. the lookuptable they have provided me is static and it is a flatfile table.

Relationship which you are pointing out is like parent-child.
You can maintain field A as masterdata bearing with Field B & C
as navigational attributes of it. Even it infoprovider you make it as Navigational.

Adding a new field to a Z table
We have a Z table on which we have created a datasource. We have created a virtual cube on this datasource and queries are built on this cube. This setup is present on Dev, Quality and Prod environment.
Now we have added a new field to the Z table in Dev. We will be creating a new Infoobject for this new field and will be adding it in the Virtual Infoprovider and also in the queries.
1. Do we need to replicate the datasource so that newly added field is visible to the datasource? If no, is there any way?
2. When I have to transport this to Quality and Prod, do I have to capture all the components and objects (Table,Datasoure,Virtual Cube Queries)? If no, what should I capture in the transport request?Hi,
First, you have to regenerate the datasource in order to add the field:
1) Log on to source system (where Z table is stored) and go to transaction RSA6.
2) Select the root node and click Expand (icon with '+' sign).
3) Search for your datasource (you can use the binoculars icon).
4) Click on Change.
5) Verify that the field appears on the list. Make sure that "Hide field" and "Field only known on client exit" options are not marked for this field.
6) Click on Save.
7) Select "Datasource" -> "Generate" (CTRL+S) menu option.
8) Use RSA3 transaction in order to verify the new field appears on test extractions.
Then, to replicate the datasource in BI:
1) Log on to SAP BI and go to RSA1 transaction.
2) Go to "Modeling" -> "DataSources" section.
3) Search for your datasource and right click on it. Select "Replicate metadata" from context menu.
4) Add the new InfoObject to the VirtualProvider.
5) Update the transformation which joins the DataSource to the VirtualProvider.
As far as transport requests are concerned, even though it requires more work, it is a good practice to group objects in different transport requests according to their type:
In the source System (R3 for instance):
1) One transport request with the table.
2) One transport request with the datasource and its structure.
In BI:
1) One transport order with the datasource replica.
2) One transport order with the new InfoObject(s).
3) One transport order with the modified VirtualProvider.
4) One transport order with the modified transformations from the datasource towards the VirtualProvider.
5) One transport order with the Queries and their elements.

Adding a new field to the Address Data for a business partner

I am trying to add a new custom field to the address data (all structures and tables) that is linked to a business partner on SAP CRM via EEWB. Structure is the address structure wthin BUS_EI_EXTERN. Table is BUT020. I have been told that it is not possible as there is no Business Object that allows this. When doing an EEWB, the only business object is BUPA, which when selected, adds the new custom field to BUT000. I would like the field to be added to BUT020 (Address Table). This leads me to believe that there is no standard way of doing this, which ultimatley means that it would need to be done manually. Please help me with this predicament.

What are the steps for adding a new field to the ST for CRM 2007?.
Yeah, I know it's a basic question. I'm fairly familiar with CRM 5.0 but 2007 is new to me and there a good few changes.
If I need to add a new field (probably with some processing to set its value) to the Service ticket what would be the steps I need to take to achieve this in CRM 2007?.

Jas.Are we talking about the EEW Business objects displayed in the EEWB as there is no business object called 'CRM OPPORTUNITY', but there is one called 'OPPORTUNITY'. Just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
So, as I need to change the service ticket it would mean that my transaction type will be service request,or whatever the shorted value is, is that correct?.
I can see the transaction types in table CRMC_PROC_TYPE_T, although it looks like I need to pick SRVO (Service order) at a guess, and if this is right I'm looking for the EEW Business object to match. But it feels like guesswork to me. For example, I could choose EEW Business object 'SERVICE_TRANSACTION' which has an Extension type of 'CUSTOMER_H', or I could choose EEW Business object 'SERVICE_CONTRACT' or 'SERVICE_CONFIRMATION', although the last is unlikely. But, my point is there is so much open to interpreatation, and I'm expecting it to be more exact. Perhaps I'm just missing something.

I have a custom table and is in use from a long time now.
Now i need to add a new field to that table.
1 - can i go directly to the change mode and then add it or is their any other way that needs to be followed.
2 - once added do i need to go to SE14 and do something thr for the changes done to the table.
This table also has a table Maintenence generator. Do I need to do something thr.

Check whether the change in ur custom table is going to impact any Custom program or not.
If its so then adjust ur ABAP code so as to fit with the new table.
Decide whether this field is going to be aprt of primary key or simple field.
Is there any data present in ur custom table already?

I am trying to add a field (NAME1) on the Equipment details screen under work orders in work manager 5.3 application.
I have performed the following steps, but I am getting an error while connecting to the application.
1) Create extension for Equipment class to add a new field.
2) added the new field (Name1) as the property to the standard object Equipment.
3) Added the field on the screen.
4) Added the field (name1) to the complex table ctEquipment.
5) Added the JAR file to Agentry.ini file.
6) Changed the Class mapping for parameter "Equipment" under group "SAPOBJECT" to point it to the custom (Extended) class.
7) Changed the class mapping for complex table parameter "ctEquipment" under group "CT_SAPOBJECT" to point it to the custom class.
8) after publishing the changes and re-starting the server, I get following error.
the log file generated (message.log) also has the same description.

I have performed the following steps as suggested by you, still it doesn't seem to work and gives the same error.
Below are the changes done on the ECC Side.
1) Copied the standard equipment class /SYCLO_CL_PM_EQUIPMENT1_DO to custom class ZSYCLO_CL_PM_EQUIPMENT1_DO. Changes made in the GET Method to get custom equipment related data
2) Modified the standard equipment structure /SYCLO/PM_EQUI_STR by adding one custom field
3) Configured this custom class as the object handler in the equipment mobile data object
4) Configured this custom class as the object handler for the equipment complex table
5) We are still using the standard BAPI Wrapper itself for getting the equipment data and the added field is reflected in the BAPI Wrapper table parameter

I have a requirement for delivery schedules page of iSupplier Portal module of Oracle eBusiness Suite. I need to add a new field to the results page. However, when I check the "about this page", I see POS_SUPPLIER_INQUIRIES177_POS_PO_EXPECT_RCPTS_D11_111POS_PO_EXPECT_RCPTS_DDynamicVO as the view object name. I guess this is a dynamic vo and I have no idea where to find the definition, so I may add the new field via extending it.

ThanksLooks like you are trying to add an item in the inquiries page which is not the same as the extension mechanism we support. This is slightly tricky for the following reasons,
- We donot support the latest personalization tool on inquiry pages and if you try to enter the personalziation tool on these pages you would still see the old personalization UI we supported in 11.5.9. In 11.5.9 we didnot support addition of new items which can be associated with a VO.
- However custoemrs were using AK Developer to add a new item in case Inquiries when the page was in AK mode. The same will still hold good in JRAD mode, this time you have to modify the table definition directly. You need to read through the inquiries section in dev guide to understand how these tables get populated by the dynamic VO and how you can set the viewInstance and viewAttributeName for the additional item. You should spend a little more time understanding the inquiries creation but this should be doable. -

As per my understanding of your problem following can be the solution to your query.
Well, Maintain condition tables in your access sequence as per your requirement. For instance: you can have access sequence as:
No.....Table...Table Desc.
10......5.........Customer/Material
20......6.........Price List Type/Currency/Material
30......6.........Material
And after that add this access sequence to your Condition Type
OR
For existing table with existing access sequence use Field catalog to add table to existing Access sequence.
In both cases, maintain the Condition Record as your requirement using your access sequence as per desired combination e.g. Customer/Material.
