Help on Information Broadcasting

Folks
I am using the information broadcasting functionality through the BEx Browser
In the tab for information broadcasting under setting , I have the options for entering email addresses
I realize that I am able to send an email to anyone within the organization by just mentioning the email address
If I dont want to diable /restrict entering email addresses how do I go about doing it

Hi
We are using the standard 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN template ( though saved it as a Z template ). When I click on the Send icon ( for emailing the report ) , a new page opens up which provides me the following tabs :
1.Data Analysis
2.Graphical display
3.Information
4.Information Broadcasting
I just need the tab for the information broadcasting when I click on send. Pls help me on how to achieve this.

Error when executing a Query through information Broadcasting

We have configured information Broadcasting in the Web Reports---
Scheduled and then when executing the following error is coming
500 internal server error - Microsoft internet explorer
Error when processing your request
What has happened?
The URL http://xyz.com:8000/sap/bw/BEx was not called due to an error.

What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system BWD in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server asalbwd_BWD_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 0 in transaction ST11 on the application server asalbwd_BWD_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.

Other than Fiscal Year/Period Variable....No Variables in that Query..
In FI Queries, I did not use 0CALMONTH Variable...
I do not know why it is giving that error..

Issue with Information broadcasting and pre-cal server in SAP BI

Hi Experts,
I have issue with information Broadcasting and Pre-cal server. I have a worrkbook whcih runs from information broadcasting in pre-cal server. Workbook is desinged on single query and workbook contains visual basic code. workbook has a variable which is controlled by Control query in information broadcasting.
I have 20 employees every month I need to send workbook via e-mail from information broadcasting. The problem is sometimes all 20 employees will recieve e-mails and sometimes not. I identified there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
because after workbook calculation in pre-cal server is not pushing to SOST so there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
I closely observed pre-cal server front end log. There are few operations performing on workbook in pre-cal server
like Open workbook, Calculate workbook, Save woorkbook and close workbook. In success case pre-cal sever is performing all the operations but in failure case pre-cal server is missing Close workbook case.

Thank you very much for the reply
I went into RSPRECADMIN and clicked on 'Display Current Queue'. There we have 3 sections
1) Queue Overview of Open Precalculations
I can see this section is always blank after running IB also
2) Queue Overview of Current Precalculations
In this section I can see an entry after running IB and duration is changing. but some time workbook in this section will never processed but the duration column is changing may be something is happening at this stage.
If the entry is not proccessed in this section and IB SM37 job will never end. I manually cancelled the job from SM50.
Don't why the workbook is taking long time and will never end even though I cancelled the SM37 IB job.
3) Queue Overview of Proccessed Error-Free Precalculations
All the error free workbooks which means all pre-cal server completed workbook calculation and sent to SOST.
I manually ran the workbook for all the 20 employees I can't find any pop-up message (earlier we have pop-up windows appearing because of VB code and when report returns no data and we fixed the pop-up issues)
Can you please help me further to trace the error.

Information Broadcast Email File - Where is the file in Unix directory?

Hi,
I am using Information Broadcasting to email the BI report. We use Unix as the application server.
In transaction SOSV, I can get detailed information on the file (attachment) and the send status. There is a requirement to encrypt the file in Unix server. Does anyone know where the file resides in Unix when the report is generated from Information Broadcasting? What's the Unix directory?
Any information would be appreciated.

With this I am executing the command: javac test.java. However, it is still giving lot of error messages
All the messages are 'cannot resolve symbol' associated with the Servlet class, Servlet Request, Server Exception etc. In the very first error message it states that: 'package javax.servlet does not exist'.

Information Broadcasting in SAP BI 7.3

Hi All,
We have a requirement to send a report to few recipients through Information Broadcasting in .CSV file. When I entered Info Broadcast setting through BEx analyzer, I am not able to find the option to send the file in .CSV format. I could only see MHTML, HTML and Links to current data. Could you please help me out in solving this?

Unfortunately it is only possible to broadcast with the output format CSV with a query or query view. That is by design.

Some questions on Information Broadcasting

Hi,
We're implementing Information Broadcasting. I have some questions and would be delighted if you could answer some or all of them!!
1. When using Web-templates I get the following message after opening my zip-file (Independent HTML-file) thru e-mail:
- Bex Broadcaster does not support Precalculation. What's the meaning of this? We get precalculate figures.
- The broadcaster demands that Javascript can be executed in the browser. How to solve?
2. When I broadcast a query as zip-file HTML with seperate MIME files then the precalculated views do not have drilldown functionality, i.e. the navigation block functionality does not work (static). I put navigation on Distribution channel. Is this normal way of working?
3. Broadcast functionality does not give possibility for Distribution type: 'Export to Enterprise Portal'.
We have an Enterprise Portal. Is additional customizing required?
4. Process chains have the Event Data Change process. This only works if I attach it directly to a cube. When I connect it to the process load data (i.e. to an Infopackage) it does not work. Any ideas?

Hi Harjan,
Not sure what the issue is with regard to (1).
With regard to (2), you need to to click on the 'Filter Navigation' tab in the BEx Broadcaster, enavle filtering, and select the characteristics you wish to filter on.

Information broadcasting in CSV format. Unwanted Headers

Hi,
I have setup the Information Broadcaster to mail CSV formats of BEx Queries. It is working perfectly , however it also gives me the Query name and Date and Time Stamp when the Data was last updated. How can I get rid of these unwanted information.

In Bex under the Business Explorer / Tools, you should have a Distribute option to distribute workbooks. This should open the web browser based Information Broadcasting inerface which allows you to send a wkbk immediately, or you can schedule the execution and distribution.
I believe with 3.5 SP15 there is an option to distribute as a csv file. I believe the Note has you add an entry to a table that adds csv as an output option, but I think the technical functionality actually exists before SP15.

Mail not coming with information broadcasting scheduling

dear all,
when i execute directly the setting for information broadcasting a mail is being sent but when i schedule the same setting in transaction SOST it is showing warning 'waiting for communication service'.how to remove that.

SAP BI - Information Broadcast through E-mail.

Hello,
I am facing issue with information broadcasting.
I set up a Broadcast setting,
1) Distribution type: Broadcast Email
2) Output format: MHTML as Zip file
3) Variable assignment: determine here
4) Filter navigation: No filter
5) scheduled monthly
When i broadcast the report, the user receives the e-mail with the Zip file.
But when he open the file he is not able to see the data (though there is data in the system)
                                                      email send
Bex report -
> BI System -
> user (user receives the email but cannot see data)
This occurs for different users. But the user in the past has received e-mail with data.
Please help me in understanding this.

Have you checked the SAP Notes mentioned below:
Note 958314 Broadcasting: Limitations for the MHT format
         772246 Display of MHTML mail incorrect
Also, it would be advisable to run the support desktool from Note 937697. If you find any RED errors, try to correct them using the suggestions given (see right-hand side). This checks the communication configuration between systems and platforms and may highlight errors which would affect the broadcasting of emails.

Information Broadcasting Settings (Dynamic Change or User Exit)

Hi,
We are working on BI7 and we have a need to print a cost centre specific report on different cost centre specific printers.
This relationship of user to cost center to printer is stored in a custom table(Ztable) as given below:
User Id         Cost Center              Printer
Abc               2000                        XYZ
It is easy to setup a setting in the Information Broadcasting and use it for printing. But problem is coming from the fact that it is a static setting and a new setting is required for each record of above custom table (Ztable).
Also, if there is any change in custom table entry, which is linked with R3 source system then we need to do manual changes in the Information Broadcasting settings. There are more than 520 printer records in this Ztable.
It could be better, if there was some way to use a single information broadcasting setting and use it with different parameters but I could not find any such option.
Other possibility is to create the settings by a background job but I did not see any such possibility as well.
Is there any user exit that can be used to manipulate Information Broadcasting settings in background?

One of the important enhanceents in BI7 broadcasting was to "individualize the content based on master data"......
   for example....If the last field in your master data record was an email address...
                        you can create a report,   filter by the UserID (1'st field) and email it...
   I didn't send it to a printer....but I am guessing it should not be much different than emailing...

1.I am trying to use Information Broadcasting in my system but when i open the query
and try to select the publish Information boradcasting, its not taking me to the information broadcasting page on IE.
what could be the reason, is my system not configured to use IB, if yes then can somebody give me the steps to config the information broadcasting on my system.
2. How to check whether my system is configured for Web reporting or not and what all the config settings do i need to check and where do i need to check them.

Regarding Information Broadcasting

Hi to all,
My requirement is I have to broadcast three queries to the roles.I know two methods one is from query designer and from query output in web, another one is from RSRT.Here we can have the option when the queries have to schedule here we can give the timestamp to execute.This is i knew. But My doubt is, is there any compulsory to have Information Broadcasting process in our process chain ?
plz give the suggestions about that.
